Welcome back to another episode of Pure Mental Podcasting!

This time around again it is just me, Daniel, at the mic.

(This episode is dedicated to my best friend, for whom I shall be his Best Man at his upcoming wedding.)

This episode is a kind of sequel to a previous episode. Where previously I spoke about my first experiences of poor mental health while I was in high school, I now look negative experiences regarding my mental health while at university.

However, I have done this in a special kind of context, that of my best friend's role during this, at times, very challenging and defining time in my life. I met him during the first week of university, and he was there throughout, during the good times and the bad.

Disclaimer: I do make passing reference to suicide, self harm, and alcohol misuse.

For this episode I have decided to talk about my experiences of taking medication to help support me and my mental health. I talk about the different medications I have taken, and the impact they have had on me, both positive and negative.

This is a very personal account of my experiences, but I would love to hear from yourselves about your own journeys with mental health and mental health related medication.

Welcome back to another episode of Pure Mental Podcasting!

This time around, it is just me, Daniel, at the mic.

Recently we have heard some fantastic and honest stories about peoples' lives. In this episode I talk about my own experiences with mental health, focusing on when I believe it all 'began' for me. An at time difficult story to share, I do my best to explain how, for a period of about 2 years, I struggled in high school with my own mental health, and how I came out the other side of that period. Yes there are tears and long pauses, but it is a story of a time of my life which was very formative and influential in who I am. I even have time to share some advice to 'young Daniel' based on this experience and many other experiences after it.

Michelle also shares and discusses a particularly difficult period of her life, and how resilience and being humble plays a key part in her journey traversing all this.

Welcome back to another episode of Pure Mental Podcasting!

This time around, Daniel talks to Fraser Hall who is a member of the Mental Resilience Training team working with the British Armed Forces (and a friend).  The first portion of the chat focuses on the work that Fraser does to enable those in need to develop their mental resilience. It would be fair to say that Fraser is quite passionate about this, and it comes across as he shares with us how the training is meant to work, and how it has benefited him.  The second half is Fraser's testimony. Here he shares his own experiences of mental health, in particular the challenges of PTSD. This part is raw, honest and as human as it gets.
