It's so great to be back everybody, I've stayed away for so long it feels like its been forever. We've all had bad days but I'm glad my bad days are far behind me.
For this week, being the 65th, I'm doing a song by Welms. This song has been living rent free in my head for a long time, especially the sped up version.
I really didn't do justice to the song so I implore you to go listen to it yourselves. It has a soothing melody and the lyrics are okay.
Like most of you, I am a suck for love songs, I sit back and listen to James Arthur, JP Saxe, Sam Fisher, and JP Cooper all day. Forgive me but I'm not a fan of too many Nigerian artiste because most of their lyrics don't appeal to me.
I only listen to Burna Boy, Praiz, Brymo, Tems and Ayra, just to name a few but no one can deny that Nigerian songs have evolved to having very good melodies and we are the kings and queens of Afrobeat.
The first time I heard this song was when I was looking for new songs and Youtube music suggested it to me. I didn't think anything of it at the time but then I heard the sped up version on tiktok and I fell inlove with it immediately.
I decided to do this song now, hopelly I'll stop obssessing over it. I recommend you listen to it over a speaker when you're happy, you'll enjoy it more.

Hi everybody, hi Hive Open Mic. I'm here this week with a cover of Jon Bellion's Human and the theme for the week is "Hope".
The reason I picked to do this song for the week was because no matter how much we thing we've made mistakes and how bad we think we are, know that there's always hope.
Hope that we can be better, do better. A man has nothing if he doesn't have hope. If you listen or read through the lyrics, you'd see that he sang about not having time for his mother but he has the time to drink and smoke.
He sings about the fear he'll end up alone but at the end he reminds himself that he's only human and there's hope to change. Be hopeful.
Before I give the lyrics, I want to apologize for being abscent in the community, I've been giving my voice time to heal after the accident and I've needed to adjust to how life is but I'm good now
I'm still trying to figure it out but I'm stronger now.

La razón por la que elegí hacer esta canción para la semana fue porque no importa cuánto creamos que hemos cometido errores y cuán malos creamos que somos, sabemos que siempre hay esperanza.
Espero que podamos ser mejores, hacerlo mejor. Un hombre no tiene nada si no tiene esperanza. Si escuchas o lees la letra, verás que cantó sobre no tener tiempo para su madre, pero tiene tiempo para beber y fumar.
Canta sobre el miedo de terminar solo, pero al final se recuerda a sí mismo que solo es humano y que hay esperanza de cambiar. Tener esperanza.

Hi, everybody, its been a while since I posted here but its great to be back. For this week's prompt being Faith, hope and love, I'm doing a song called In the stars by an artist called Benson Boone and the reason I chose this song os because it depicts everything the prompt is about, from love to faith, from faith to hope. You'd understand better once you see the lyrics. He sings about loving his grandma and losing faith in God but he's still holding on to everything that's dead and gone. I really do not know how to start but I just withdrew all the hive sent to me and it has really gone a long way in sorting out the bill and I thought it would be fair to give everybody an update and stop the panicking. The tube in my chest to to be removed tomorrow morning and we needed to start sorting out the bills thats why I withdrew the hive.
I really can't thank you guys enough, you came through and this is what hive is all about. I'll make a proper post with the full details of what happened later, probably after I'm discharged. This is just a small thank you post. You guys are the best.

Hi Hive open mic and a good day to everybody. For this week's let's rock, I'm doing a song by one of my favorite artistes, Noah Kahan. A lot of people haven't really heard of him but he sings awesome songs and I chose to do his "Hurt Somebody" and the reason I chose this song for the prompt is because I always play it when I just want to fun have and dance with music, in other words, when I want to rock out. Hi everybody, hi hive Open Mic, Incase you're wondering why I look like a zombie in the video, I've been sick and I'm recovering. My video for last week didn't encode on 3speaks so I couldn't make an entry. For this week, I'm going a wine from the greatest showman titled "Rewrite the stars" and I chose this song because when it was sang in the movie, the two lovers were fighting against everybody who wasn't for their love. Hi everybody, hi hive open Mic, its another great week and for this week's prompt which is opportunity, I'm using the opportunity to do a cover to one of Ed Sheeran's most popular song which is "Happier". He sings about how he missed the opportunity to make the person he was in love with feel happy and so she moved on to another person and he's happy for her.
It was easy to tell this was a heart break song. He also sings about how if she gets heart broken, he'll be there for her and not take the opportunity, he's second chance for granted.

Hi everybody, hive open mic community. This is @nelson-george and I am back this week with a song from the Disney movie "Aladdin". I thought this song would be perfect for this week's prompt because it talks about The Princess being free to see the world and love who she wants. I have decided to chase music professionally, all I've been doing is making covers of people's songs without writing any of my own but all that is about to change. I want the music community to be part of my journey as much as I also want to be part of the community. I've been posting in communities like OpenMic and Afri--tune but this is the first time I'm making a full video here.

Sorry I couldn't make it to last week's prompt, I had a lot of things to take care off and my health wasn't that great but I'm back now. For this week's prompt, "Mi Felicidad" which translates to "My happiness" in english, I did a song by Alessia Cara titled "A little more". The reason I chose this song is because I needed a song I run to when I always feel happy or at peace. I have a friend that died last year, this was her favorite song. I found this song comforting whenever I thought of her and somehow, I always found peace. It was only a matter of time before it became one of my favorites songs. Its a love song, Alessia Cara sings about wanting a little more of someone is loves. Its just an awesome song, you can tell from the lyrics;

For this week, I did a song from an old cartoon I watched growing up, Hercules. I don't know if most of us have seen it but I chose it because in the cartoon, the world percieves Hercules differently. All he was trying to do was change the world and find his place in it but people didn't seem to figure it out at first. He pushed all that away and focused on himself. Soon, everybody saw him for the hero he was. A lot of us feel different sometimes and its hard to push through the crowd sometimes but I'm here to tell you you can find your way, you can go the distance, all you need to do is believe in yourself.

I can't lie, I struggled making this video. I'm just recovering from another illness and this one came with the weather. My voice isn't at a 100% either. I chose this song because I felt Adele pretty much has the "love hurts" theme covered in the music industry. In this song she talks about how heart broken she that her former lover had moved on and how even though it hurts, she refuses to hold a grudge. For this week's "true friend", I decided to do a song by Bruno Mars. "Count on me" is the name of the song and the reason I chose this song was because the lyrics meant something to me in the true friend context. He talks about how he would always be a friend when you need him and how he knows that people will be friends to him when he needs them. Now I don't know about you but that is the true meaning of friendship. A true friend is somebody who is there for you not just at your strong days but at your weak ones too. Someone who sees you for who you are, sees all your flaws but still sticks around. I had to sing on a lower octave because I am currently in a fight with catarrh, the weather hasn't been very favorable but I hope it still sounds nice.

I wanted to do a song that would resonate with all of us. Most of us probably saw the lion king when we were little so since the the theme of the week was "Childlike". I was hoping this song would reach our inner child.
