Today my guest is Jagmeet Singh, leader of the new democratic party of canada! He has been the leader of the NDP since 2017. His political career began in 2011 where he contested the 2011 federal election in the federal riding of Bramalea—Gore—Malton which resulted in a narrow victory for his Conservative opponent. He became a member of Provincial Parliament in the overlapping provincial election later that year. In 2015, he became deputy leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party, serving until 2017. In 2017 he ran for the leadership of the NDP, where he won at the parties convention with 53.8% of the vote, in a field of four, in the first round! Thanks again Jagmeet!
