The need is compelling for each of us to continue working to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. We are not a professional society, but rather a community of colleagues learning from each other and helping each other with our career endeavors. Our structure is volunteer-based, virtual, agile, and easy to access.

Leiaka Welcome, a national of Trinidad and Tobago, is a sedimentologist who is currently working on her Ph.D. and serving as the GSG Equity Chair at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). Leiaka is an avid traveler, who's research and passion are focused on integrating geoscience, technology, and society.
Don Castleberry is a retired geologist and director from the US National Park Service. Don had a dynamic career beginning in petroleum exploration in Latin America to working out of the Everglades, Grand Canyon, and Zion National Parks. Don emphasizes the importance of family & having a plan.
Dave Steele holds an MS in Geology from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dave worked for Shell in stratigraphic prediction research & new ventures exploration and retired after 33 years as a Geologic Advisor. He enjoys spending time with his family & volunteering for his church.
Dr. Apps holds an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the University of Liverpool. Most of her career has been in the oil & gas industry where she worked for Shell, BP, & BHP. She is also co-director of Appeel Ltd where she teaches field courses in France.
Dr. Newton Wilson consults with energy technology, mining and climate mitigation projects, and uses subsurface geoscience, project management and advocacy to enable equitable and efficient use of natural resources.
