Weddings are tricky things to plan. They seem easy at the outset however the closer you look and the closer your wedding day gets the more detail there is to prepare for. Over the last 20-years of taking wedding photos we have come to understand that the people who enjoy their day the most are the ones that are the most relaxed, and there is only really one way to relax on your wedding day, and that is to be prepared well in advance. It is important to set the tone of your wedding day at the getting ready phase of the day. If everything is running on time and is going according to the plan then everything else that comes after the getting ready section will come much easier. In today’s podcast Sue and Rob cover off some of the most obvious things you need to think about well in advance of your wedding day. But don’t make the mistake of thinking that you will be able to wing it on the day and solve any problems that arise. Be proactive about the way that you go about your planning and if you get it right and use the tools that we give to you then you won’t get caught up in a stressful situation reacting to something that should have been solved in advance. There are many ways to plan a wedding. You can start out by planning the guest list, you might begin with the wedding dress but at some point in the planning process you’re going to have to consider where you want your location photography and that is what today’s podcast is all about. Normally your wedding reception and ceremony will dictate where you have your location photos. By that we mean that you’re likely to be nearby, or even somewhere in between your ceremony and reception location. That’s assuming that you’re not getting married and having the reception all in the one place. What nearby means in terms of backgrounds should be explored in detail well before your wedding day. You don’t want to be making critical photography decisions on the day. You must make these choices beforehand so there are no surprises and no stress. If you don’t know where to begin planning for your wedding then starting out by asking what type of wedding photos you want may help you narrow down the focus. For example if you want Wedding Photos on Sydney Harbour then it’s probably not a good idea to be booking a reception venue in Camden. There would just be too much driving on your wedding day making it unpleasant. If you go the other way and pick your reception venue first then it makes it easy to know what’s nearby and where you can go. Just make sure that you don’t overcommit to what you can achieve on the day and most importantly make sure you have a wet weather plan! You need to set realistic expectations of what can be achieved in the limited time you have on your wedding day however if you are clever with your selection of the right locations you will be able to capture more backgrounds than just making it up as you go on your wedding day. There are 5 x categories of wedding photography to consider in your wedding planning process: 1. Beach 2. Bush 3. Harbour 4. Architecture 5. Quirky On today’s podcast Sue and Rob discuss each one of these backgrounds in detail and what will trip you up and what to watch out for. Grab a pen and paper because you’ll want to take some notes on this podcast. Today on the podcast we are going to talk about the benefits of having a small wedding. Let’s start off by saying that there is no one right way to do your wedding. It’s your wedding so do it the way that you see fit not to please your family or friends. Couples that do that often have a regretful day - don’t be that couple!A smaller wedding will give you the flexibility to spend money on things that matter more to you but you first need to work out what it is that matters to you for your wedding day. Is it your ceremony, your location photography or is it something else?Having a smaller wedding will also speed up the pace of your wedding day. It just doesn’t take as long to get things done with 20-30 people as opposed to having to maneuver 150 people into a group photo after your wedding ceremony!Listen in to the podcast as Rob and Sue share their thoughts and experiences as they relate to smaller, more intimate weddings. If you’re looking to create a unique wedding day experience then bigger is not always better! Some great smaller more intimate wedding venues we recommend are:Jaspers Berry: https://jaspersberry.com.au/Bar at the end of the wharf: https://www.sydneytheatre.com.au/your-visit/the-theatre-bar-at-the-end-of-the-wharfSeclusions Blue Mountains: https://www.seclusions.com.au/And here are some galleries from some smaller more intimate weddings Jaspers Berry: https://whiteweddingphotographers.pixieset.com/jaspersweddingjessicapeter/ Bar at the end of the wharf: https://whiteweddingphotographers.pixieset.com/amandaamberwedding/ View by Sydney: https://whiteweddingphotographers.pixieset.com/sarahdamien/ If you have any questions about today’s show that you reach out and connect with Rob and Sue: https://suewhitephotography.com/contact-us Website: https://suewhitephotography.com Packages: https://suewhitephotography.com/weddings-by-sue-white Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/suewhitephotography Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/suewhitephotography Email: sue@suewhitephotography.com
Today on the show we have Ingrid Galloway. Ingrid has been a relationship coach for over 11-years and she works with brides and grooms to be. Ingrid works closely with them to make sure that they don’t get married and then break up 6-months later - because absolutely nobody wants that.As you know the topic of relationships is a big and wide one so to keep it on point we are going to cover some specifics that brides and grooms can do in the lead up to your wedding day.Communication is the key to everything and talking and sharing expectations in the lead up to your wedding day will go a very long way to heading off any potential problems before they arise. But let’s be real, you can plan for everything and no matter what sometimes you will get stressed out on your wedding day. If that happens to you, remember, as Ingrid says, BREATHE. Then take a methodical approach to handling whatever comes your way. Go with the flow and let go a little.Make sure you connect with Ingrid:Website: http://www.kahyangan.com.auFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/kahyanganrelationshipcoachingIf you have any questions about today’s show that you reach out and connect with Rob and Sue: https://suewhitephotography.com/contact-usWebsite: https://suewhitephotography.comPackages: https://suewhitephotography.com/weddings-by-sue-whiteFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/suewhitephotographyInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/suewhitephotographyEmail: sue@suewhitephotography.com

Registry office weddings are some of the most delightful and beautiful ceremonies there are so why not consider this as another option while you are planning your big day!
