Nelson’s Brook Waimārama Sanctuary is a predator free eco haven. Voices from the Brook gives you news and updates from the Brook Sanctuary, and tells the stories of its enthusiastic volunteers, staff, supporters, visitors and of course its inhabitants.
This edition focuses on the recent Sculpt Nature Symposium and the Open Day. Both events were very successful and we hear from the artists, staff members and some of the 1202 visitors who enjoyed the Open Day. Nelson's newly appointed mayor, Nick Smith, also came by and confirmed the City Council's ongoing support, both financially and otherwise. Lastly we have updates on the refurbishment of the Visitor Centre. This is host Kirsten Roedsgaard's last show for the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary.

In this edition we talk about this week's end of the Vaccine Mandate, the OPEN DAY on April 10th and other events happening in the near future. 2021 is coming to an end. This is our Christmas edition and the last show of the year! And what a fantastic year it has been for the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary with two bird translocations: Tíeke and Kākāriki karaka, more than 500 new paid up members, several new staff members and lots of new dedicated volunteers etc. CE Ru Collin and key staff members talk about 2021 and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
