This episode talks about why optimizing individual function should be the focus beyond just fitness. I make a case on why you should look at exercise beyond just the aesthetic goals, as I highlight some advantages of exercise which rarely get any attention. I talk about how each benefit helps you to optimize yourself and your day-to-day function; also, why these rewards are what deserve more attention. I end the episode with practical strategies on how to create mindset shifts that favors exercise beyond shallow aesthetic goals.

This episode talks about the difference between motivation and discipline. Dissecting the definition of each while applying both ideas to real-world applications, I highlight how each attribute relates to my personal achievements. I share how I've applied these concepts to my journey towards becoming the instructor and athlete I am today. Also, at the end of the episode, I share five strategies on how to stay motivated and disciplined through this new normal we live in.

It's been a hard year for a lot of us, but there are opportunities at every corner! You are always the master of your life, don't let uncertainty hinder you from what you're living for. Life is not perfect, neither are you, so why not treat each day as a renewed opportunity to elevate yourself?

I used to fall victim to the diet and weight-loss industries by trying many of the products, supplements, and programs out there promising a quick fix to weight loss and fat loss. I share the methods and products I experimented with over the years and some practical strategies around what to stay aware of. Although the tides are shifting and not all are bad, the diet and weight-loss industries are worth noting that these are billion-dollar industries our psyche is up against; who are preying on human insecurities to gain profits.

This episode goes through my personal journey, the hilarious antics I got myself up to all in the name of weight and fat loss, and the truth about what we're up against. I also highlight some practical strategies around what to stay wary of.

This episode talks about how to develop a sustainable relationship to eating over a lifetime. I go through strategies based on my personal experience and information learned through the Precision Nutrition Level 1 course. A lot of information in this episode is from their textbook, but I also share personal anecdotes to highlight where I started, my journey so far, and where I am today.

As always, I advocate for self-exploration and subjective discovery towards health and wellbeing, so the strategies in this episode are meant to act as inspiration or ideas, not as strict rules to follow.

This episode talks about why calorie counting may not be the most effective strategy to creating a sustainable relationship around eating and how I endured eating disorders in my late teens to early 20s. The focus is to highlight when calorie counting is appropriate but to also shine a light on its limitations, the psychological impact it can have, and why other strategies towards eating are more compelling if longevity and sustainability are the aims.

Also, as it may insight some strong emotions to someone listening, I'd like to share that this episode will go into the details of my journey through eating disorders. Although it's not the only thing I will touch on, the topics I talk about will include some raw anecdotes. As usual, all of my episodes are a mixture of the knowledge I've gained as a fitness professional and my personal journey through discovering what real wellness means.
