Our introduction to you. We talk a bit about who we are and what we are going to discuss in the future. By all means let us know what all you'd like to hear about from us. -- Capt. Jack and Crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
One of the hardest topics to cover is bartering. There's no trick to it, except to be wise in your dealings. Also, it's fine to help people out, but not at the detriment to your supplies. Always be wise in helping those out in need.
As always, we went off topic a lot. However, there's a lot going on right now. Keep your heads on a swivel.
Captain Jack and crew.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
We did our homework, folks. Well, mostly, kinda, a little. What we did do was create the list of ballot initiatives for the Newton and Jasper counties. We also covered some of todays news. Listen in to hear what we have to say.
Captain Jack and crew.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
We went over optics tonight. There is a lot of information on this topic. Things to keep in mind:
Select your optics for your frame. Select your optics for the range. Select your optics for your usage.
This is a topic that is WELL covered all over the internet. We just hit the highlights, and what we use.
Captain Jack and crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Well, we're getting back to basics and are talking about food preservation. There is a lot of information to cover on this one. So much so, that we hit some highlights and recommended some books.
We also, of course, talked about current events that are not widely broadcast right now. The world is on fire. However, there is light. Be mentally and spiritually fit.
Captain Jack and team.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we had to keep it short. Too many things to do in a day. However, we high covered a LOT of things that are going on. It's been a hell of a news week, and there's a lot not being covered by legacy media.
Captain Jack and crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
It's the weekend of the 4th. And being a national holiday, it has a rich history. You know what that means, a background trivia from us. We did some research on the holiday to pass on to you.
As usual, we strayed off topic, all over the place. However, we had fun about it. Why not?
We also wanted to give everyone some hope on what's to come. There are dark times here, and worse times on the horizon. However, there is always the light of hope. Don't get bogged down in the darkness. Be the light.
Captain Jack and team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
We finally got around to the topic we wanted to talk about two weeks ago. Not that we're complaining. Two weeks ago was phenomenal with the listener feedback. Thank you.
It's vitally important that you listen to this podcast. We go over a lot today that's not in the news, and what to do in critical life or death situations. We're here to help in all situations. Take care, and keep your head on a swivel.
Captain Jack and team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight was supposed to be about current events and situational awareness. Lt. Dan and 1stSgt Bilko started the night off that way. However, we had such great listener engagement that it turned into answering their questions and responses. It was the best night we've ever had! Thank you all for that!
Captain Jack and crew.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight is Memorial Day, as well as our one year anniversary at doing broadcasts. That part isn't nearly as important as Memorial Day.
We broadcast from the Neosho VFW, and had special guest Bill Doubek. You should listen to his story.
Captain Jack and team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we gave some updates on our chicken coops. We have posted some videos, and photos. However, we need to get you all more. Long story short, we get into the details. Listen in to hear how it's going.
Also, there's a lot going on in the world, and we hit the highlights. As usual, we make light of it. Yet, also, give you something to think about.
Be well, and keep your head on a swivel.
Captain Jack and crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight was a topic Private Pyle wanted to talk about. And, he's not here tonight. Anyway. We are talking about communications. The cell towers will go down, or be restricted to 'emergency' personnel. If not, they will just be used to track you. As such, tonight we talk about hand-held, and CB radios. There are a lot of them out on the market. What we recommend are buying the UV-5R style. Just about everyone makes them. Just keep in mind you get what you pay for.
We also discussed CB radios. It's old technology, but it still works with a longer range than hand-held units. Listen in to what we have to say about it.
Captain Jack and crew.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we talked about raising chickens, and what it takes to start a garden. When it comes to a garden, there are all kinds of different ways to grow. Raised beds, buckets, milk cartons, hay, and boxes were some of the ways we discussed how to get started. But, be ingenuitive on how to get started. If anything, start small and work your way up.
When it comes to chickens, there's too much to cover in this description. However, we do cover some books on how to get started.
Be looking for some videos from 1stSgt Bilko and myself on gardening, chickens, and rabbits. We will take you through the steps on what all it takes. Be sure to give a wave to 1stSgt Bilko on buying his tractor.
Capt Jack and crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots
A few months back, 1Sgt Dan had a gear review about the Axil noise-cancelling, shooter headphones. It was not a glowing review. He has an update about that whole situation. Additionally, he purchased some Shooter Lube to try out for us. Listen in to find out updates on both.
We also covered some current events, because why not? Just listen and enjoy.
Capt Jack and crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight, we're drinking. Again. We go off the rails. Again. But, we have a while lot of fun. Except for lieutenant Dan who just couldn't stop making jokes tonight on a very serious subject.
Okay, we're all not being serious about a serious subject. Tonight we talk about not only setting up a smoke house, but also how to stage a long term camp location.
As always, the bad times are already here. It's time to be ready for the worse times. We're here to try to get you ready.
--Captain Jack and crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots
We're on the struggle bus tonight, folks. We're all tired, and this was a simple discussion that devolved into our typical random thoughts. Hope you enjoy.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight, we went on ahead and discussed updates on current events. We also talked about getting involved in your local politics. And, possibly the topics of business ventures. Not to mention working on a parallel economy and society. As always, we had a bunch of laughs and hope that you have a good time with us tonight.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we discuss our basic items for a Get-Home, and a Bug-Out packing. Keep in mind the Get-Home is just that: Get home. It's meant to get you back to your house, to get to your Bug-Out.
We also might have discussed someone's plans for a club in New Orleans. We're going to hell for that one.
--Captain Jack and team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we really hit on a large range of topics that we are experiencing in the world right now. There's so much going on, and we try to explain it to you as best as possible.
Everyone, you need to be ready. The time to prepare has almost passed. We're not being chicken little, we see what's going on, it really is that bad. Please, be ready. Form a community. Be ready.
We're here for you
Captain Jack and team
Wow, there's a lot going on in the world today. So much so, we had to address the elephant in the room.
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we talked about survival (and not survival) eating of rabbits, squirrel, trash pandas, opossums, and deer. We talked on what parts can actually be eaten, what to do with the parts that you shouldn't eat, and how to preserve the hide. Because after all, you might need that hide if it's winter. I won't give away secrets, let's just say how hungry you are depends on what you're going to eat. Additionally, having some foraged vegetables never hurts. Always remember, cook that meat to second death. It's better than getting sick.
Also, we did a live gear review of a jet boil system, along with a freeze dried meal. We let 1stSgt Bilko take the hit on eating it. He said it was delicious. All that aside, it was a great (and sober) time.
--Captain Jack and crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
It's your host, Captain Jack. Tonight we just covered everything. No bushcraft tonight, but we went off the rails. Mostly due to alcohol. I was able to get 1st Sgt Bilko drinking. Unrelated, he apologizes for the swearing on his end. His antics aside, we had a great night just covering whatever comes to mind.
Anyway, enjoy our ranting just as we did.
--Captain Jack and team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. Tonight we talk about field cleaning your weapons, and our personal choices in cleaning gear to take with you. We also discuss some quick and loose tips on clearing jams of a few types.
We have some new gear that we want to try out, in fact Captain Jack might be testing his new Jet Boil in the snow here soon. So much to do, so little money to do it with.
Lastly, we give some tips on how to make your pack lighter with multi-purpose items such as dental floss, fishing line, and hiking poles.
We look forward to our next one, and thank you all for your support
--Captain Jack and Team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we recapped our various camping trips. Lieutenant Dan and 1st Sergeant Bilko took out one of our listeners to their camping, while I went solo. We all had a good time, shot some videos, but we wanted you to hear it from us on how we all did. Not to mention go over some gear reviews. Bilko's tent didn't hold up, so do not buy the French two-man tent system according to him.
We also talk about survival entertainment. There are lots of free, and light/no weight, ways to entertain yourself and your campers. Talent shows, make-shift horseshoes, charades, and whatever your imagination can come up with. At the end of the day, use your imaginations.
Lastly, we want to encourage everyone to think about getting into better shape. If you need some help with that, just reach out to us and we will be glad to help.
Thank you, all.
Captain Jack
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Our latest segment was actually pretty random. We covered everything under the sun. We moved from one segment to the to next, and brought in our fan's comments. We really enjoy fan feedback and it was a great session on fan feedback. Thank you, and really we give away Southern Missouri Patriot's gear for our late night fans. Maybe more fans should tune in.
--Captain Jack and team.
Hello and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Tonight we were supposed to talk about Article V of the Constitution, but as usual we went way off topic and talked about whatever came to mind. It was totally worth it. You know us, we get a bit of liquor in us and we just can't stay on track. Surprise, surprise.
Anyway, enjoy our rant and the extra few minutes of our raw recording at the start.
--Captain Jack and Crew
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. We had to start this one by giving a huge congratulations to Kyle. That aside, there is a FAR more important topic. That topic is veteran suicide. We wanted, and needed, to bring attention to this. Don't let this be you or a loved one. Please, reach out to the veteran if they cross your mind. Veterans considering ending it, reach out to anyone. You are NOT a burden. Do not fight the battles alone. Reach out to us on our FB pages, call the suicide hotline, or text the number below. There are resources for you, to help, to listen, to show you the way.

Southern Missouri Patriot Team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. Tonight we're talking about Veterans Day and the history behind it. Okay, we tried to talk about it. But you know us, we can't stay on topic very long. We're like crack addled squirrels. That aside, we call out some of our veteran friends and family, give a VERY brief history of Veterans Day, and go off on tangents like usual. Hope you enjoy.
To give thanks to our veterans, by all means (women) show your boobs. That was Lieutenant Dan's idea, but it's a great idea. Men, just buy us coffee, soda, or water.
All the serious part aside, if you want to help us out we will have a donation up for our beer fund. Not to mention we will give you a shout-out for the support.
As always, we are actively recruiting. Reach out to any one of us and we will get the process started. There are some stipulations of course, but we will go over those with you.
--Captain Jack
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
Ladies and gentlemen, we know fuel prices are going up at the pump. Additionally, there are talks that heating oil will also increase by at LEAST 54%. Now, we don't know about you, but that much of a hit isn't easy to absorb in the wallet. We talk about how to heat your home, what to do that will keep you warm out in the open, and other ways to stay warm in your house during what is expected to be a harsh winter. Bundle up, folks, it might get cold.
Captain Jack and team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots.
We recorded this episode right after our having a good time with everyone. We wanted to let you all know that the bad days are here and only going to get worse. Please, listen to us about this. We want you all to be ready for what's coming. If nothing comes, you'll at least be ready for a natural disaster. However, just look at the store shelves and gas prices. We want you all to be ready. We care about you, your families, and your lives. It's not much, but we want you all to be ready. That's why we do this for you.
Captain Jack and team
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. Tonight we just kind of moved from one topic to another. We were feeling good and decided to just have a fun time with each other. We do our live stream now, and interacted with the fans while talking. You all should try it sometime. We will respond to you on our live stream, because we are here for all of you. We're not just a group of guys getting drunk. I mean, we are, but we like having all of you there as well.
--Captain Jack and team
We cover some interesting uses for paracord and also touch on some food storage topics. Lt. Dan and 1Sgt Foreskin are drunk this time!!!!
This was a draft for the longest time. There was some disagreement about posting this one back in August. Alcohol might have been involved. Hence the first line. We are leaving it intact because it's us, and why not? Anyway, we're still talking about paracord here, and angsts ensue.
--Captain Jack and team
Fans, brace yourself for this next series. We have talked about these in the past after we recorded them, and said we weren't going to upload them. After a lot of discussion we decided to go ahead and release three of the four.
WARNING: You thought we were rough before, this is nothing. There are no sacred cows in this discussion. We were drunk beyond measure, and didn't stop drinking. (Thank you Lt. Dan for the Three Kings)
Consider this your only warning. Listen at your own discretion.
Captain Jack
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. We kept it short since we just got off a long live stream. We had one more in us and felt the need to keep going. It's been a long week, and honestly we were even tired. That being said, we hope you enjoy this podcast.
Captain Jack
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. Tonight we just drink and go from one topic to the other. We did not get as drunk as we were hoping to. However, ol' Captain Jack wasn't up to his usual self. Hernia's are painful. That aside, we had no topic tonight and wandered from subject to subject based on feedback from our live stream. Unfortunately our internet connection was not cooperating and it was best we just cut it short. All that aside, we still had a fun time.
Come check us out on our Facebook Page.
Captain Jack
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. We do live streams now as we record our podcasts. Be sure to check our Facebook page to watch us live, and hear the same information here, while looking at our handsome faces. Well, except for Lieutenant Dan. There's a reason we keep him off camera.
Tonight we go over some foraging tips, and pass along information about common 'weeds'. Also, we talk about some of the foraging apps we use, along with the books, and websites for more tips and knowledge. Again, we are not the experts on this, but we know where to find the information at.
Come look for us at Fall Festival on October 2nd in downtown Neosho. We will have shirts, first aid kits, fire starters, and a whole lot more.
Capt. Jack
Hello, and welcome to Southern Missouri Patriots. Tonight we talk about water collection, storage, and filtration. There is a lot that goes into water storage, and we glazed over a lot. However, what we did go over is important to get you all started. Be sure to listen.
We also went off on a rant, and answered fan's questions as we are live streaming while we are recording the podcast. The questions lead us in some really good directions. There are things we talked about that you need to hear. If you're noticing the shelves are starting to get bare out there, even at big box stores. If you haven't start prepping, beware that it might be getting too late to get started. This isn't chicken little, this is turning into reality. Get what you can now, before you're stuck. We want you to be prepared for what looks like is on the horizon.
Take care of yourselves, and be ready.
--Captain Jack and team
No, our illustrious leader did not actually leave town. He had Captain Jack things that needed to be done, and asked us to proceed without him. Dear God, does that mean Lieutenant Dan will have to actually talk? Yep, and talk he does. We had plans to do hardtac but it didn't quite go that way. That's the problem with three jobs, at some point you just can't get it all done. That being said, we kind rambled on things tonight. We mostly talked about food we can make in the kitchen that feeds the body, even if it doesn't taste all that great.
Captain Jack will be back, loud as ever, and the band will march on. See you folks on the next one.
--Southern Missouri Patriots
Hey everyone, tonight we went over the topic of bug out and home return bags. Yes, there is a difference between the two. At the end of the day, each have their own purpose. Also, each one is personal. Whatever you do, don't over-pack. Be deliberate in what you need.
Medication, water, and then whatever else you absolutely need from there. Don't over think it.
Also, have an evacuation plan. Then make a second one. After those two are made, make a third one.
We live streamed tonight, so by all means check out the video on our FB page.
Stay prepared--Captain Jack
We had to address the issues, quickly, tonight. We're not done by a long shot. There's a lot to go over here, and we hit the highlights tonight. Captain Jack is the only one of us who served over there, so we leave the details to him. This is a huge slap in the face of gold-star families, veterans, active duty, and everyone who left their lives, blood, or loved ones over there. WE ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS AT ALL! More to come so stay tuned.
--Captain Jack
Both of these are huge topics, too large to cover in 30 minutes. However, we did them justice as best we could. We cover debris, poncho, A-frame, lean-tos, mud and snow shelters. Also, we talk about the general guidelines on making your own fire starters, and what it takes to build a fire.
There's so much to cover in both of these topics. With that being said, we're going to get you all videos of some, certainly not all, of these types of shelters and fires. Be ready for those.
For all of you ready to get some learning in, we will have classes before too long. We will have you details on that as we get it all setup for you.
Until next time--Captain Jack.
From the title you can imply that there were unofficial off the rails episodes. You would be right. We were all completely hammered one night and recorded 4 episodes that will likely never see the light of day. Kinda likely. Well, they may hit the air one day. Just not today. This time, we were a little more measured about it all.
This time not only did we drink, but we also ate a lot of pretzels and potato chips. You'll hear it in the recording, we didn't try to hide. That being said, we covered a lot of topics in just 30 minutes.
Don't forget we have t-shirts for sale through our Facebook page, just reach out to Lieutenant Dan for the details.
Also, come see us at our booth for Neosho Fall Festival, we'd love to meet you.
Huge shout out to Will from AlphAmerican for the t-shirts. He's a local, veteran owned business. Thank you all.
-Captain Jack
Welcome back to our podcast. Great news, Captain Jack wasn't drunk...at the start. But as always we had a great time tonight with this one. It was a lot of tangents, current events, opinions, and what we see happening down the road.
Also, we wanted to let you know that we will be in downtown Neosho, Missouri for the Fall Festival. Come see us, and why we don't do videos, yet. We now have t-shirts available, contact Lieutenant Dan for those. Here shortly, you will be able to donate to the cause as we are working towards getting our business going, officially.
As always, drop us a line at smpinfo@protonmail.com. If you want to check out our page, you can find us on Facebook at Southern Missouri Patriots.
Lastly, thank you all for continuing to listen and give us feedback, we want to hear from you. While we have a good time doing this, it's all for you.
--Captain Jack
P.S. for the love of God, would somebody please give name suggestions for me? The latest moniker is worst than the first one. 1st Sgt. Bilko.
We were going to talk about homeopathic medicines today. That was put on hold because we had received several requests on how to form a group locally. With that in mind, we do what we do: drink beer, poke fun at each other, drink more beer, say wildly inappropriate things, and eventually get to the point after several rabbit holes. Yet, we stayed largely on topic tonight. Our rabbit holes tonight actually had a purpose, and were not your typical off topic, topics. Captain Jack was still drunk, but do you expect anything less? At least this time he was the only one.
Tonight we go through how to start forming your groups and what to look for, leadership, resource pooling, and more importantly learning how to check to see if someone is of like mind. Lots of anecdotes on this one. It's also a long one, so be ready. For more information, reach out to us at smpinfo@protonmail.com. As always, you can reach out to us on our Facebook group page as well.
We took a serious note today. With all the news reports of this week alone, the bad days are here. If you weren't prepared by now, it's likely too late already. Inflation and supply shortages are already here. The cost of preparing has become more costly now. It only get's worse from here, and we want you to know that. However, this too shall pass. In the meantime, we tell you how to prepare what supplies you might have on hand. Additionally, we discuss how much to have on hand, how to take care of it, and what you should try to get to barter with.
We also discuss new gun owners, being proficient in them, and go off on all kinds of tangents. We'd say that's unusual for us, but it's really not. We run down the rabbit hole all the time. Also, surprise surprise, Captain Jack is drunk...again. Though, he did have a good reason this time.
You'll find we get a lot of our news from outside the US, and from what some consider misinformation sites. However, these news sites are accurate, and if the writer has a slant, they tell you plainly. Between blatant spying of all American citizens, evidence of severe voter fraud in Fulton County, Georgia, and the WH telling big tech to censor anyone they deem to be spreading 'misinformation' about the vaccine the political news and evidence of the swamp growing rapidly only grows worse.
All that aside, reach out to us at smpinfo@protonmail.com

First off, disclaimer:
WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM SHOULD YOU TAKE OUR SUGGESTIONS AND USE THEM WITHOUT PROPER MEDICAL SUPERVISION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATION. THIS IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. USE OUR SUGGESTIONS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE SOUTHER MISSOURI PATRIOTS TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS.
Thank you people who can't take responsibility for their own choices, and the lawyers who ensure that they never will. Not sure if that nullifies the disclaimer. Let's hope not. Either way, we really are not medical professionals. We want all of you to seek out your own training. Your local fire department, or police/sheriff department may be able to help you find the training you need.
For this episode we talk about our first aid experiences, some very basic supplies you should always have on hand, and places to receive training for yourself. It's always good to have training, and to keep up with that training. CPR, basic first aid, and some advanced first aid training is always available. Some organizations even have these trainings, and certification available for free, or a reduced cost. Keep in mind, every time you use this training, sometimes there are things that happen.
We hope you enjoy our episode, and by all means reach out to us at smpinfo@protonmail.com
--Southern Missouri Patriots
In this episode we talk about solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). There is a lot we can cover on this topic. However, we limited us to the size and impact each one could have on our way of life, and what to expect should one hit us. Those with classic cars (no computers) will be gods among men, until fuel runs out. GPS, goodbye.
Listen along and try to follow along as we walk you through what to expect, and what you need (basics) to be ready.
-Southern Missouri Patriots
Also, don't forget that we're looking for a new moniker for 1Sgt Bilko. Reach out to us at smpinfo@protonmail.com, or join us on our Facebook page. Top 3 will be voted on by you.
It was supposed to be a 'short' episode. Capt Jack and 1st Sgt Bilko like to talk too much though. Yes, Capt Jack was drunk. It makes episodes interesting. Here we talk about a few highlights on taking a light, quick, overnight or two day outing. Plan ahead, and prepare. Don't overdo your pack.
Fire-starter, sleep system, waterproofing (check the weather), bug spray, food, water purification system, and compass/orientation device.
Be sure to email the team at smpinfo@protonmail.com for 1st Sgt Bilko's new nickname. We want your suggestions! Top 3 will be voted on by you.
Lieutenant Dan always over-packs. Don't be Dan.
The SMP gets together to discuss the history of Memorial Day, the meaning behind the symbols, the Tomb of the Unknow Soldier, and share our stories of those who gave their todays for our tomorrows.
We also want to tell our brothers and sisters that before you do anything foolish, please reach out to us:
