Matt and Steve return to talk about the Blue Jays final road games as well as the start of their home stand at the newly-renovated Rogers Centre. It was a bit of a rough go over the last fortnight, coming into Sunday's action below .500. Luckily, the AL East is mostly in the same boat behind the Yankees.
Both Matt & Steve aren't happy with the offence, with Steve focusing especially on George Springer; Matt talks about how un-Gausman-like Gausman has been so far this season; and some rehab updates about Jansen, Romano, and Swanson, as well as some notes on Alek Manoah's progress back to the majors.
A quick update on the Shohei Ohtani gambling controversy, Oakland moving to Sacramento for three years, and a discussion on an increase in pitchers suffering from season-ending arm injuries. Plus: did Taylor Swift's camp have input into the Rogers Centre Reno's?

The Blue Jays won their series vs San Fransisco but despite the good vibes starting the Canada Day game with a pre-game Citizenship ceremony the Jays lost the series against Boston with a shut-out and then a one-run loss (and later, another one run loss on Sunday). Matt & Steve talk about the All-Star game player selection and the weird jerseys, and Steve recaps his experience at the Ottawa Titans 8-1 victory over Quebec Friday night. Matt would not have had a very good time that night, given his own recent experience with lineups.

The Blue Jays won 4 games in a row leading into our Sunday morning recording (and finished off with a very slow 11-10 win Sunday afternoon), leading Matt & Steve to talk about whether or not the Jays offence has been revived. Great news - the lockout is over! Matt & Steve talk about the new CBA, which includes an extended 12 team playoffs, NO DH in the NL, and other tidbits. Plus, some Jays signings, and a debate about Daylights Savings Time.
Unfortunately the lockout continues, but luckily there are still a few (minor) Jays news items to talk about. But the lockout dominated our talk today. Fair warning, there is at least ONE expletive in the episode. Matt & Steve also talk about the highs of mechanical pencils and the lows of "pink fong".

While the MLB hired a "really good investment banker" to show how bad an investment owning an MLB team is and made some non-serious proposals, there doesn't seem to be a lot of optimism for starting baseball on time. Matt & Steve talk about how good the Jays farm system is (5th overall), 4 of their prospects appearing in the top 100 prospects list, and the apparent Universal DH rule coming in 2022. Plus, more weather talk AND a tax tip (if you live in Ontario).

Brewers From Home With the Blue Jays playing on the west coast, we did not watch many games for the Jays this week. So, we covered the Brewers (our "B" team) instead! At least that was the idea, we still got a lot of Jays talk in this week.
Home Runs A-Plenty It was a winning week! The Blue Jays pulled off a series sweet of the Braves and split two games with Washington but it was all about the Home Runs this week - especially Vlad's 3-home run game (one of them was a grand slam!). Springer also came back, Kirk became our catcher saviour...and then went on the IL. A lot of things happened this week. Tune in to hear our thoughts on all of it!
A Short and Quiet Week Matt & Steve discuss what was a short week for games, and also somewhat quiet in terms of Blue Jays news. Also in the podcast, Matt agrees with Pat Tabler, the upcoming showdown in LA between the Dodgers and Padres (which was last night once this podcast goes live), and a brief note on therapy bunnies.
