I cannot begin to count the times someone has told me they’re “just getting old” or they’re “too old” or “that’s just a part of getting old”. That stuff is not a good enough reason to throw in the towel. Especially, because I hear it from 30 and 40 year olds while I see people doing amazing things in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. You can find plenty of stories of folks even decades older than that who are still trying to better themselves. In this episode I’ll dive into what’s really making you feel old and why it has nothing to do with your age.

The separation of practice and play is an interesting dilemma. Training with the idea that you’re preparing for an event rather than simply doing the activity as it is, can make practice feel like work. Your “training” should be enjoyable in the moment of practicing not just in competition.

This episode is for me as much as it is for you. With confusion caused daily around what is and isn’t healthy, and what choices we should make regarding Covid-19, I have been working hard over the last year on my own personal health. Of course I’ve been a trainer for many years and always been an advocate for health, but what does that really mean? I decided in March of 2020 that exercise wasn’t enough. So I’ve been working on defining what health is and how to obtain it. This episode is just my thoughts, slight more organized than usual.
