On this episode of The Pearl House Podcast, Steve and Courtney sit down and talk about one of the questions we get asked a lot: "Where does the money go?"

People often question how much of their donation is really making a difference going directly to "the work" a non-profit is committed to. We believe it is a part of our calling to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. Our aim is to keep our budgets as transparent as possible. We regularly bring in third parties to audit our finances to help ensure financial integrity. While we do have overhead costs, we strive to keep those balanced and fair, while putting as much money as possible to the immediate needs.

If you have questions about our finances, reach out to Steve and he'd be happy to connect with you.

We are so excited about this episode! Courtney visits with Abi Dare. If you haven't read her book, check it out now. It is a powerful perspective for young girls finding their louding voice and place in this world. Abi talks about her inspiration and process in writing this book and heart behind it. We can't recommend this book enough!

Here's more about The Girl With The Louding Voice:
The unforgettable, inspiring story of a teenage girl growing up in a rural Nigerian village who longs to get an education so that she can find her “louding voice” and speak up for herself, The Girl with the Louding Voice is a simultaneously heartbreaking and triumphant tale about the power of fighting for your dreams. Despite the seemingly insurmountable obstacles in her path, Adunni never loses sight of her goal of escaping the life of poverty she was born into so that she can build the future she chooses for herself – and help other girls like her do the same. Her spirited determination to find joy and hope in even the most difficult circumstances imaginable will “break your heart and then put it back together again” (Jenna Bush Hager on The Today Show) even as Adunni shows us how one courageous young girl can inspire us all to reach for our dreams…and maybe even change the world.

We're back for more of The Pearl House Podcast! New Year. New season. New stories.

This year we're sharing stories because we want to tell about the incredible, beautiful, messy, wonderful ways God is working in and through lives because of The Pearl House.

Stories are what connect us.
Stories are what give us a glimpse of what could be, what we hope to be, what we long for. Stories help us know we are not alone.
Stories help us know we can face the challenges that are in front of us.
Stories help us know we are loved.
Every story matters.

This week we share a story about being homesick...but not in the way you'd expect.
