Ms. Diagnosed

Story time from inside America's locked door mental health facilities. I'm your host, Ms. Diagnosed, and with every episode I will take you through my life on the inside since the age of 15. I am now 44...and still institutionalized so...that's a lot to tell. Locations, names and likenesses will be changed for privacy reasons.

Episode 4. In less than three weeks at the hospital, I had become institutionalized. When I was finally discharged home (because insurance ran out, not because I was doing well) I realized my whole world had changed. Home didn't feel like home anymore, I felt like a stranger in this world. I didn't have my mom to lean on because she was sick from going through cancer treatments, and the rest of my family was stressed out and not in the mood to deal with me. One thing led to another and I was admitted back into the hospital on an emergency basis.

Soon a doctor who talked to me one time had placed me on the heavy duty anti-psychotic Trilafon. Oh, I also survived a strip search and tried my first piece of bacon ever.
