Welcome to the inaugural episode of Xenial Narrative. In this first episode, I share my thoughts and highlight the narrative regarding the Aftermath of the 2022 Midterms. For me it is time to move on from the GOP and Trump and get to a place where I am helping others.

I've decided to start off 2022 with a podcast reboot. Instead of "Focus on Communication" I've decided it is time to reboot this podcast simply as "Focus". This change in direction moves the "focus" away from communication and towards a "focus" on a specific topic. Communication is still part of the idea, but there are so many other areas out there that deserve an opportunity to discuss. I hope you enjoy and look forward to seeing where this new path takes us.

Over the last 30 years I've been consistently bugged what is totalitarianism associated with fundamentalist religious ideologies. I decided it's time to air some grievances and share my thoughts on issues I have with the Religious Right (AKA The Moral Majority) or as I refer to them The Immoral Majority. It is also because of the behaviors of many of these folks we have issues today. Links to those mentioned in this podcast episode include:

Red Pilled America

The Street Conservative

Scandalous Life of Dr. Jack Hyles

Jack Hyles Daughter Exposes Cult

Fraud, private jets and a Lamborghini: 10 televangelists who have faced controversy

6 Greedy Televangelists Taken Down By Their Own Debauchery

10 Evangelist Preachers Who Fell From Grace

Well to Hell Hoax

As a side note, in doing research, I may have mentioned good things about a couple of evangelists such as Pat Robertson and Joel Osteen. I just want to highlight that these men have made mistakes and had scandals, however, I don't think their scandals while obtuse and wrong are as bad as Bakkar, Swagger, Tilton, or Hyles who were a disgrace to religion.

It seems that many folks aren't aware of the role that Cyber, Cyberspace, Knowledge & Big Tech play in dealing with each other.  In this episode I attempt to break down the definitions of Cyber & Cyberspace, discuss what constitutes knowledge and why Big Tech's actions in these specific realms are out of line. This is a very challenging topic and how I put things together in this podcast episode are messy, but I believe they do well in making a case.  As always links for the items used can be found at:

NOTE: Episode 4 was recorded on May 25, 2021, but was published and updated to June 1, 2021.  Sadly, the music by Akira the Don and Jocko Willinick was unable to be used.

This episode focuses in on the idea of Mixed Messages in Communication.  Wether it's right or left, conservative or progressives, Marxism vs Capitalism, we're dealing with mixed messages in communication and I see it's a challenge.  Personally such a challenge needs to be discussed.

Inspiration for this episode came from Movements vs. Organizations by Hildy Gottelieb which can be found at https://creatingthefuture.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Movement-or-Organization-chart-form-07-24-15.pdf

In this episode, we'll be "focusing" on the concept of the narrative space when it comes to communication. Whoever controls the "narrative space" has the power to control many different aspects of communication. As we've seen from the recent colonial pipeline, the concept of the "narrative space" led to panic buying of gas. I also highlight how the "narrative space" has had an effect on media, news, and can influence world events. The concept or the goal of this "narrative space" episode is to be apolitical, but the narrative space does focus in on political areas. The ideas I express here should be embraced with an open mind and no one should be thinking about one side versus the other.

In this episode we'll "focus" on Vulnerability in Communication.  If you find that you're struggling or are experiencing challenges with how to connect with folks or are looking for a way to help break the ice with authenticity and sincerity, maybe you'll find being vulnerable to be helpful.  During the episode I utilized the online article 4 Reasons Why Being Vulnerable Is Good For You written by Christa Buck which can be found here https://www.theodysseyonline.com/4-reasons-why-being-vulnerable-is-good-for-you.
