My twin-sister Bonita Croyle (who uses she/her/hers pronouns), is the Founder of The Ebenezer Project. The Ebenezer Project was founded in 2013 in order to create a space to empower change makers working for racial justice in Anabaptist and interfaith communities, amplify and elevate the voices of Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), and provide free and accessible racial justice materials, resources, and workshops. I needed to write a six-word memoir to describe my adoption journey. The prompt was, "If I knew then, what I know now." I took it and wrote a letter to myself as a child.
The prompt for this piece was to describe a positive and negative thing that occurred in the same year during adolescence.
