Madagascar, mid-1690s. Captain Jacques Misson and his people have been living in Libertalia, the community they built, ever since they landed in this bay. They strike out at slave and merchant ships in the area, liberating both people and property, offering the formerly enslaved and weary crew members alike the chance to join them in such piratical pursuits.

But the winds are changing, and Misson isn’t sure Libertalia can weather the storms he can see brewing on the horizon. How do you forge a new way of living when you’ve only known the old ways?

The Doctor and Ella, landed just outside Libertalia, find themselves in the midst of a fascinating people who are in many ways ahead of their time.

Trouble is, Captain Misson and the Liberi are fictional.

Aren’t they?

“The three pilgrims travelling to Canterbury were a strange group of people, but the strangest of them all was the man who called himself the Doctor…”

At a lodging house in Ospringe, a housewife from the town of Bath, a Knight, and a Physician settle in, after a long and tiresome day’s travel along the road to Canterbury Cathedral. As they rest their weary bones, the Physician has a tale to tell. A tale of medieval fiction blurring into medieval history. A tale of corruption at the heart of Canterbury town, as the local Lord oppresses the peasantry in his search for an artifact that could tear the universe apart. The tale of how he came to be travelling alone, separated from his best friend and his TARDIS. The Time Lord’s Tale…

“I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain…The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy." -- Albert Camus. Getting better isn't linear, and neither's history: as a newly permanent resident of the TARDIS, Ella is about to learn just that. Confronted with a sudden realisation about her place in the world, the Doctor and Ella must follow the history of her sadness from Saturn in the 28th Century, to Greece in 480 BC. They'll meet ghosts, space pilots, ancient Spartan warriors, and a delivery boy from the inter-galactic postal service. For Ella, it's a journey about learning to bear the weight of things, and for the Doctor, about learning to accept someone can be happy and sad at the same time.

When the Doctor and Ella return to contemporary London, they discover a beguiling mystery inside TFL’s lost property office. Items are being discovered all over the city for owners who appear not to exist: not just bags of groceries but passports that match up to no known citizen. As traces of artron energy begin to steadily build across the underground network, the Doctor suspects that more than just a pickpocket or fraudster is at work. While Ella faces her darkest night at home, the Doctor is left to piece together the mystery of the lost property, and to work out just how it connects with a prominent political activist’s disappearing act on live television. The answer might just prove to be worse than either of them could ever have imagined.

The regular programming on Telecom Station Alpha gets interrupted by a rogue radio show, where experts debate about the Cathar Crusades and the involvement, at their apex, of one mysterious Doctor. He and Ella have apparently blazed a trail through an extermination campaign conducted by the Catholic Church in 1100s France, protecting refugees cooped up in the fortress of Peyrepertuse and relentlessly tracked by fanatics, but what pushed the dynamic duo to meddle with time? And how will history judge their actions?

The Twelfth Doctor Fan Audios is a non profit fan production. Please support the official release. In a tiny corner of the planet Trachmagillat, after a prolonged period of violent climate change and political strife, there are signs of stability and peace at last. The prospectors biding their time in other corners of the world smell blood. The TARDIS takes the Doctor and Ella Fitzallen to the bowels of an ancient building complex on Trachmagillat, a haunted planet that was the epicentre of a galactic war, the relic of a culture of heavy industrialisation and cruel slums. The real estate developers waiting outside to raze it to the ground to build something new think nothing lives there anymore. Nothing except ghosts, anyway. But the Doctor senses a different reality, and Ella feels the presence of an urban legend. A war machine whose circuits have broken long ago, still asleep beneath the structure; whose ire is predicted to destroy the world, a bomb waiting to blow.
