Life is a neverending story, a journey of some sort, one in which we experience something or someone new almost everyday. Very much like literature, life is in seasons (genres, as I like to call them) and it has it's intricacies. On this podcast, we get to talk about these intricacies and genres of everyday life.

Grab a cup of tea or water if you'd prefer and join me twice monthly, as we talk about parts of this neverending story.

The dictionary defines intentional as “done on purpose; deliberate.” I like to define it for myself as purposeful deliberateness. Without intentionality in any area of life, that area would slowly wither away. Living with intentionality is living deliberately and it is not an easy feat (I have to admit that), but commitment to living wholly and fully would make that one lives with purposeful deliberateness.

Everyone needs a friend, in every season of their lives, but not everyone gets to truly enjoy the love of a friend. In the words of C. S Lewis, "It is indeed only love that makes the difference: all those very same principles which are evil in the world of selfishness and necessity are good in the world of love and understanding", love indeed does make the difference. Outside of human relations, there is one friend that doesn't wait for us to make the first move, He already made the first move years ago and He's still making a lot of "first moves" today. Join us on this journey through the heart of this friend, Cheers🥂

Everyone wants to love and be loved in return, but while on this journey, it's important that we understand what love actually is. Contrary to popular opinion, Love is not just a feeling or an emotion, feelings and emotions are fleeting, Love instead is a state of being, a person. This letter is from my friend and I, to all those who love and are in search of it❤️

We've all failed at something at one point or another in our lives and it is important that we remember that failure is fleeting and that it does not define us. This episode features a quote by one of my amazing friends, Juugzz, he's oozes wisdom and at a time when I felt like I was going to throw in the towel, I was reminded that failure could be a fuel a springboard of some kind. So this episode is for everyone; the ones good at failing and the who are sure they would never fail, Cheers🥂

"What I wanted vs. What I got/currently have", each one of us has had a season/occasion of contrast between what we expected and what we have. Expectations in and of themselves are not bad things, but unrealistic and unattainable expectations are toxic, they cause considerable stress and affect every area of your life. In this episode, we talk about unrealistic expectations, examples of them and ways we could let go of or relinquish these unrealistic expectations.

Many people find it odd that people of the opposite sex could be friends without any romantic or sexual intent. This thought has followed a lot of us through each stage of our lives and in our friendships with the opposite sex. Society has made us believe that for men and women to be friends, there has to be a possibility of one or both of them falling in love with the other, the "friend zone" is even a ridiculous propagation of the hyper-sexualization culture. In this episode, I talk about what it means to enjoy people and how possible it is to have wholesome platonic relationships.

For different people, "beginning again" means different things. For some, it would mean a sort of "system wipe", where they wipe away all memories of past trauma and then start on a new OS (funny right?!), While for another set, it's accepting where you are and then deciding to move away from past hurt. Today, I have 4 amazing guests; Nnamdi, Emmanuel, Helen and Chinedum share their views on this topic.

There's a time for everything, a time to cry, a time to laugh, a time when you have everyone you love with you in the same place and a time when they enter into another phase in their lives, and have to move away. The phase when your loved ones move away is usually a weird one, because you're not entirely sure how to feel, you try to be careful not to feel the negatives out loud, so you don't come off as a pessimist. In this episode, I talk about how I felt about a loved one moving hundreds of thousands of miles away and how I'm learning to deal with it. I'd love to hear from you about your experience on separation, you can tweet at me @the_dr_sylvs or send me a voice message.

Grieving and Hurting are human conditions, they're a part of the human journey. In any season where one grieves or is hurting, one learns a thing or two. In this episode, I talk about the things I learned in a phase of grieving, one of the most profound being that "The heart actually does go on" (I forgot to add it while recording though 😬😬). Here's to everyone that is hurting, I see you, I feel your pain and I understand. Cheers 🥂
