In this episode, I share my experience of moving to Shanghai, China and living there throughout grades 3 and 4. After my diary update, I take a trip down memory lane to remember my family's experience as expats and the luxurious lifestyle we enjoyed. Although much of them are foggy, I share the memories I do remember from those two years of my childhood including some of my favourite restaurants, malls and activities in Shanghai. In this episode, I share my experience moving to the other side of the planet alone to study abroad in Taiwan. In this episode, I share my journey leading up to my semester on exchange. After a quick life update about some of the audiobooks I've been listening to recently, I talk about the application process for exchange that I completed in my first year at McGill including which schools I applied for, how I applied for a nomination and what selection criteria the academic advisors use to decide each student's host university. Afterwards, I share my experience with the roller coaster of ups and downs I went through including the cancellation of my original exchange to Hong Kong, followed by the fear and uncertainty surrounding coronavirus. In this episode, I share some of the lessons I have learned from my human motivation psychology class at McGill University. The course is taught by my favourite professor, Richard Koestner, and is accompanied by the required reading of Succeed: How We Can Reach Our Goals by Heidi Grant Halvorson and Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise by Anders Ericsson. This class has taught me so much about how to set and succeed at goals as well as how to develop expertise in any domain. In this episode, I share my experience living, studying and working during the pandemic. Since coming back to Canada after being on exchange in Taiwan for the beginning of the pandemic, life has been pretty different compared to most years. In the Fall semester, I was studying online and then in the Winter semester, I have been working remotely as an intern at a tech company.
