If you had one night left on earth, what would you say to the people you love most?

Would you give them advice, express gratitude, or warn them not to repeat your mistakes? On the night before His death, Jesus had just such a moment with His disciples, and what He chose to say may surprise you. Instead of offering strategies for survival, He gave them a single command: to love as He loved!

In this sermon, Pastor Jamison shows us how to love as Jesus loves, the kind of love that marks a true disciple of Jesus!

What makes someone a good leader?

Is it confidence? Charisma? The ability to get results? We often measure leadership by power and position, but in John 13 we see Jesus turn that definition upside down. On the night before His crucifixion, the King of Kings knelt down with a towel and basin to wash His disciples’ feet.

In this message, Pastor Dan unpacks how true leadership isn’t about status but about service. Good leaders mirror Jesus—they love unconditionally, live from their God-given identity, and serve selflessly.

But here’s the deeper question: If that’s what a good leader is, how do we become one? The answer isn’t found in trying harder or tapping into our own strength. It begins with the cleansing only Jesus can give. Before we can follow His example, our sinful hearts must first be washed by His sacrifice.

Come and see how Jesus not only redefines leadership from the ground up but also makes us new so we can lead like Him.

It’s been said that “bad company corrupts good character” and “a man is known by the company he keeps.” Which begs the question: what makes someone a good friend?

Friendship is something we all longs for because it’s something that God designed us for.

Does our work matter to God?

So often we think of work as just a paycheck, a grind, or something to just get through. But the scriptures paint a different picture: work is more than just survival—it’s a means of stewardship, worship, and provision.

In this sermon, Pastor Dan unpacks how the Proverbs teach that diligence in our work provides for our needs, protects us from unnecessary hardship, and prospers us with influence and opportunity.

Yet the hope of this message isn’t found in our own effort. It’s found in Jesus—the One who finished the greatest work on our behalf. Because of Him, even the most ordinary tasks can be transformed into worship, telling the story of a faithful God who provides, protects, and prospers His people!

In this sermon, Ed Emmerling, Executive Director of the Baptist State Convention of Michigan, reminds us that everything we have belongs to God—we’re not owners, but stewards entrusted with His resources! That means giving isn’t a tax, but an active worship, and one of the clearest ways we exercise our trust in Him!

Through practical steps like starting small, giving consistently, and increasing proportionally until giving both cheerfully and sacrificially, you will be challenged to make generosity a priority. We live in a world that constantly tells us to elevate ourselves—prove your worth, protect your image, seek the spotlight. But what if that mindset is actually working against you?

In this sermon, Justin Meyer explores the subtle—and not so subtle—ways pride creeps into our lives: dismissing correction, overestimating ourselves, refusing to admit weakness, taking undue credit, and judging others.

But he doesn’t stop there; you'll be invited to trade the pressure of pride for the peace of humility! Because here’s the paradox: the very things pride seeks—honor, wisdom, acceptance, and peace—are actually only found through humility.

This sermon will challenge your assumptions, expose the posture of your heart, and point you to the One who humbled Himself for your sake!

When was the last time you shared the gospel with someone who doesn’t know Jesus?

We live like there’s always more time—more time to get serious about our faith, more time to share the gospel, more time to tell that friend or family member about Jesus. But what if there’s not?

In this powerful message, Pastor Dan sounds a much-needed wake-up call to the Church: the time is short, the stakes are eternal, and the mission is ours. You’ll be challenged to examine the way you live, reflect on those God has placed in your path, and step into the Spirit-empowered mission of making Jesus known—starting right where you are!

If you’ve grown numb to the mission or passive in your witness, this message will reawaken your heart to what truly matters. Because the gospel is still the power of God for salvation—and someone in your life needs to hear it today!

If marriage is supposed to be beautiful, why do so many marriages end in brokenness?

We live in a day and age where 50% all marriages end in divorce; is it any wonder so many look at marriage and question, “is it even worth it?”

But what if marriage isn’t the problem but rather our misunderstanding of it? Could it be that we as a society have actually lost the meaning of marriage?

In this message, Pastor Dan invites us to rediscover God’s original design for marriage—not as a man-made construct, a temporary contract, or a self-serving partnership, but as a sacred covenant designed to reflect God’s faithful love and bring about human flourishing!

Whether you’re married, single, divorced, or simply seeking clarity, this sermon will ground you in truth, challenge cultural assumptions, and offer gospel hope for every relational season.

What if the confusion we feel about identity isn’t just cultural or psychological, but spiritual? How did we get here?

That question lies at the center of every worldview—and how you answer it will shape the entire trajectory of your life.

In this message Pastor Dan walks us through Genesis 1:1–2:3 to recover the Doctrine of Creation. You’ll see that God didn’t just make a world that works—He designed a world that worships. From the stars in the sky to the breath in your lungs, creation testifies to His glory, His order, and His intention.

Who is God?

Many people have a take on that question! Some people serve nature, others spirits; some believe in science, while others say there is no God. But the Bible reveals a very clear picture of who God is.

The Bible attests that we serve One God who reveals himself in three persons. Historically, we have referred to this union as the Trinity. The Christian God is unique. He is the only God who reveals himself this way!

But does what we believe about God matter? Many people in our culture would say no, but the Bible claims that how we view God changes everything about us, how we live our lives, and how we interact with others! The Trinity is not simply something we understand, but someone we have the privilege of experiencing.

In this sermon, Pastor Jamison explains the doctrine of the Trinity and how knowing a God who is three in one transforms our lives!

What do you do when your soul is dry—when worship feels more like duty than delight?

In Psalm 103, David doesn’t wait for spiritual feelings to return—he preaches to his own soul. He remembers. He rejoices. He responds.

Have you ever asked yourself, “Why is this happening to me?”

In the final chapter of Ruth, we see a story that begins with loss end with life. A story that starts in grief ends in joy. But it doesn’t skip the pain in between.

This sermon doesn’t gloss over suffering — it acknowledges it. Because for many of us, life feels more like Mara than Naomi. But what if, even in the bitterness, God is at work? What if the loss, the waiting, and the silence are part of a redemption that’s already unfolding?

As Justin closed out our Ruin to Redemption series, we saw how God was never absent — not in Moab, not in the famine, and not in the waiting. And He’s not absent in your story either!

If you’re walking through uncertainty, doubt, or pain, this message is for you. Come be reminded that even when it doesn’t feel like it — God is writing something beautiful!

In the closing lines of Titus, Paul shows us that fruitfulness in the Christian life is deeply connected to faithfulness in Christian community. These verses are more than logistics—they’re a glimpse into how the early church lived in response to Jesus’ presence, provision, and grace! Paul calls Titus and his church to invest in one another by showing up, supporting each other, and serving together. Gospel ministry was never meant to be a solo mission.

In this sermon Pastor Jamison reminds us that lasting impact comes through shared life and that the church becomes a fruitful family when grace shapes our relationships. When we make time for one another, meet real needs, and move forward together in mission we are becoming a church that is built to last!

Do you enjoy waiting?

Most of us hate having to wait! Yet as followers of Christ, we live in a season of waiting—waiting for our blessed hope, the return of Jesus. But this waiting is not idle; it is purposeful. In this sermon, Pastor Jamison unpacks Paul’s words in Titus 3:1-7, challenging us to consider how the world sees us while we wait. Do our lives reflect the grace that has transformed us?

Through Paul’s instructions to the church in Crete, we see that waiting for Christ means being ready for good works. We are called to submit obediently, serve zealously, speak gently, and show humility—living as a testimony of God’s redemptive power. Yet, we must never forget where we came from. Paul reminds us of our past, not to shame us, but to magnify the mercy of God who saved us—not by our righteousness, but by His grace.

This sermon calls us to live distinct lives that reflect Jesus to a watching world. While we wait, we must make the gospel visible through our transformed lives. Are you ready for good works? The world is watching.

In Titus 2:11-15, we see that grace is the ultimate gift that keeps on giving! Too often, we think of grace as only about forgiveness, but it also empowers us to grow in holiness.

In this sermon Pastor Dan explains how grace doesn’t just save us from the consequences of our sin—it trains us in holiness, sustains us in holiness until Christ's return when we are made perfectly holy! What does it mean to live a life worth following?

In this sermon, Pastor Dan walks through how God has designed discipleship within the church: older men setting the pace through lives of maturity and stability, pouring into the younger men; older women setting the standard in godly character and influence, training and encouraging the younger women. And then younger men and younger women humbling yourselves, seeking wise counsel, and inviting godly older men and women into their lives!

What makes someone a good pastor?

As we endeavor to appoint more elders, what should we be looking for?

Some would say dynamic communicators, strategic visionaries, influential leaders, and skilled managers with degrees. But if we build our leadership model on these worldly metrics alone, we risk elevating charisma over character, and skill over spiritual maturity. Were not the Pharisees highly educated, influential, and gifted teachers?

So, what are the right metrics?

In this sermon on Titus 1:6-9, Pastor Dan helps us see the ‘Qualities That Lead: The Marks of a Biblical Elder’. A faithful pastor is one who is faithful to his family, integrous in his conduct, godly in his character, and unwavering in his devotion to sound doctrine. These are the qualities that truly lead!

But these aren’t just standards for pastors—they are marks of spiritual maturity that every believers should aspire to. Whether you are an elder, an aspiring leader, or simply a follower of Jesus , this message challenge will you to examine yourself and consider “Am I living a life that is worth imitating?”

What is the most powerful thing a Christian can do?

Maybe you think it’s forgiving wrongs, turning the other cheek, enduring persecution, or telling people about the gospel. All those things are powerful and essential to the Christian life, but the single, most powerful thing a Christian can do… is pray. Prayer is interesting, isn't it? Christians have the privilege of communing with the author of life and yet prayer is often relegated to asking God for things when we are in trouble, or when we need to transition to the next part of Sunday service. But God never designed prayer for this. God designed prayer to give us life, and to change our lives, and to change the lives of those around us!

In this sermon, Pastor Jamison shows us the purpose, power, promise, and process of Christian Prayer.

It may come as a surprise to some, but the vision of Convergent Church isn’t to become the largest church in town, nor is it to have the nicest building, our own Christian school, or the most dynamic programming. It’s so much bigger than that! Because we could do all of those things and still not make a dent on the lostness in our city.

In this sermon, Pastor Dan casts the vision of a new city—a city where people are rescued by Jesus from their sin, living in submission to His will, and reaping the blessings of His kingdom. This is a place where active faith in Jesus isn’t the exception but the norm! We believe this vision aligns with what God desires to do in Owosso.

In Matthew 6:10, Jesus teaches us to pray: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” This is more than a prayer; it’s a call to action. It’s Jesus’s desire and God’s ultimate plan for the fullness of time. So the real question is: “Why not here, why not now?”

The call is clear: we are invited to partner with God in bringing His kingdom to Owosso.

If we’re honest, we’re often told Christians should be happy, shiny, joyful people, especially during the holidays. With all the celebration, lights, traveling, cooking, and celebrating it can be easy to bury ur griefs and sorrows to avoid the process of healing God wants to work out through our grief this time of year. Christians need to know it’s okay to grieve — especially at Christmastime!

In this sermon, Pastor Jamison brings a biblical perspective on processing grief from the book of Lamentations.

In John 12 we witness Jesus making a series of life-altering choices. As Jesus prepares for the cross, he must choose faithful obedience over fear, uncertainty, and self-reliance.

Like Jesus, the choices we make shape our legacy and impact eternity. Everyday, we are faced with the same decision as Jesus, whether to glorify God, or promote ourselves. Will we choose what is good, righteous, and God-glorifying? Will we make decisions based on their impact on eternity, or the fleeting pleasures of the present moment? Will we like Jesus choose self-sacrifice, in order that others might know the salvation only Jesus can provide?

On Sunday, Pastor Dan unpacked John 12:1–26, challenging us to consider this question: Is Jesus your means or is Jesus your end?

We explored how people often come to Jesus for many reasons—seeking comfort, solutions, or blessings. Judas sought profit, the religious leaders pursued prestige, and the crowds craved power. Yet, only one reason leads to eternal life: recognizing Jesus as the ultimate prize and surrendering everything to Him.

Mary demonstrated this vividly in offering her most valuable possession in worship, understanding that Jesus is life itself. This message is convicting reminder that Jesus isn’t just a means to our goals; He is the goal, worthy of all we have and all we are.

Is Jesus the end of your story?

This message explores incredible truth that Jesus is the Resurrection. We saw how His timing is always perfect, even when it feels delayed, and how His presence brings us comfort in ways that meet our deepest needs. We were reminded of His all-sufficient power as He called Lazarus from the grave, proving He has authority over life and death. Finally, we recognized that Jesus' resurrection power demands a response—will we choose to believe and follow Him?

Where do you place your hope?

In this world we can place our hope in many things. Some people place their hope in money, some in relationships, others in political leaders, and others still in themselves. Where we place our hope matters. Like a house built on shifting sands, If we place our hope on what is unstable, we are headed for collapse. The scriptures are clear, only one thing, one person, can bring us hope and keep us from collapse. Jesus!

In this message Pastor Jamison shows us how Jesus's words and works bring us hope and that we are to share that hope with others.

Why do the innocent suffer?

For millennia people have tried to explain why bad things happen to good people. When we suffer, we tend to think that it is a consequence of our sin, and that the suffering we are experiencing is actually God’s displeasure with us. What if we knew that in our suffering, God had a plan? Would that change how we experienced trials? Would it change how we viewed God?

In this sermon, Pastor Jamison explains how God uses our suffering for God’s glory and for our good!

What is one thing that is true of every person? What is something that is true of both the young and old, liberals and conservatives, wealthy and poor?

We are all dying!

You read that right: death is an equal-opportunity offender, and we never know when our time will come! For many, this brings fear and uncertainty. But that doesn’t have to be the case! In fact, you can know for certain today where you will go when you die.

In John 8:51, Jesus declared: “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” And this sermon, Pastor Dan breaks down how Jesus can deliver us from death and why we can take Him at His word.

How important is light? Imagine brushing your teeth, getting dressed or driving to work without the ability to see. Without light plants don’t grow. Without light animals can’t live. Without light the world crumbles around us. Light is essential for light. No light, no hope.

Sadly, we are all born without light. Born into spiritual darkness, separated from God and desperate for hope.

Jesus proclaimed “I am the light of the world”. Jesus is the light that illuminates the darkness of our world, brings us hope and reunites us with God.

For some of us, confession conjures up the thought of sharing our wrongdoings with a priest in a cramped, wooden closet. Would you say your freedom is most important? What about your family? Maybe your mental health? Could it be money, or safety?

We all have things that are important to us, priorities that rank above other lesser things. But what should be our greatest priority? What should be most important to us?

In this sermon, Pastor Jamison argues that our greatest priority should reflect our deepest need -- our need for Jesus.
