Founded on Christ: Recent Episodes

In the parable of the 10 virgins Christ likened the kingdom of heaven to 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins. The 5 wise were welcomed into the feast, but when the 5 foolish virgins arrived at the door they were turned away with the statement "I know you not", and Joseph enhanced this understanding with his prophetic mantel and giving us back the plain and precious truth of "Ye know me not".
Similarly the Lord has stated through revelation "And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you treated lightly the things you have received- Which vanity and unbelief have brought the whole church under condemnation" (D&C 84:54-57) The scriptures are filled with examples of people seeking to know the Lord an draw near unto him. That is the desire and goal of this channel, to have each of us know Christ and build upon his sure foundation.

Obedience is often referred to as the 1st law of heaven and for good reason, The use of our will is the paramount issue of this life. We are tested and tried to see if we will obey the Lord God Jehovah or choose another master to follow. It can be difficult to stay loyal to that charge when it comes in conflict with earthly sources that we respect. Using the Lords counsel to be strong and of good courage we can find peace in this conflict.

In the Sermon on the Mount Christ begins his discourse by quite a few attributes his followers would posses and gives specific blessings tied to each attribute, in many ways there is a mirroring and expanding on the Law that was given to Moses. Since the day that Moses descended from Mount Sinai we have had Law from God on how to conform our lives to his will. With that law came the challenge of living with each other, as we failed to live up to those standards. Do we get caught up in Pride by how we live the law? Moroni was very forthright that those to whom he was writing would see the Adversaries Secret works of darkness perpetuated upon the latter day followers of Christ. Many of us have taken lightly these thing which we have received. The Glenn L. Pace memorandum stands a witness of Moroni's words. We must awake to our awful situation, and petition to Christ for healing, relief and what actions he requires of us.

It can be easy to be overwhelmed by the the straight and narrow path before us. The daunting nature of the path often forces people into two camps.
