Tejasva Malhotra

I often found myself connecting my current thoughts and patterns to the experiences I've had in the past. My likes and dislikes were manifestations linked to the way I viewed the world. Being able to have even a small glimpse of someone’s journey can add so much perspective to our lives, help us grow together, and be able to better understand ourselves and each other. Season 1's episodes will roll out every Monday at 5AM (UK time). Support the podcast by following the links in the episodes' description

We talk a lot about things “within”. Going within, exploring within, healing from within. But what does that even mean? In a world where we’re defined by our outputs, is it even necessary to flourish from within? How can we use this to identify what’s driving us in our life journey? How can living only on the surface be dangerous and unsustainable? How can this be used to find our purpose?

Join the legendary Nanda Gopa Prabhu/ Chirag Ghelani and me as we talk about the lotus mindset, its origins and how flourishing from within is one of the biggest keys to living a truly successful life. Nanda Gopa Prabhu was a lawyer in a top firm in London before he became The Lotus Coach, helping high achievers, entrepreneurs and top level business executives to flourish from within. He was a monk at the Bhaktivedanta Manor before joining the law firm. Today, he uses the monk mindset in his everyday life and speaks at different events for KCSoc. What is a monk? What comes to your mind when you think of a monk? Is it somebody who sits under a tree? Lives a certain lifestyle? Wears certain clothes? Or does it have more to do with being in a state of mind? Does being a monk mean renouncing everything in life?

Join the legendary Sutapa Das Prabhu and me as we talk about the monk mindset, how we can use it in our everyday lives, to grow, solve problems with a different lens, and potentially see ourselves from a higher perspective. Sutapa Das Prabhu graduated from UCL in Information Management before he took to the monastery. He is the head monk at the Bhaktivedanta Manor. He has authored many books that act as a guide to the Vedic scriptures. Buy his new book "Gita3", where he breaks down the contents of Bhagavad Gita into bite-sized, practical lessons that we can use in our everyday lives: https://krishnashopping.com/products/gita3-by-sutapa-das

But what really is "happiness"? How does one become happy? Some say experiences, moments, others say relationships, possessions, lifestyles. Is it something one acquires like other material possessions, or is it a state of mind? Is there an equation, or a formula we can find to achieve this happiness?

Join Sesa Das Prabhu and I as we talk about happiness, both from the general perspective as well as from the eastern scriptures (Vedas) perspective. Having been a monk for years, Sesa Das Prabhu also talks about how he was able to use that mindset in his everyday life, and how it added to his happiness too. He studied Mathematics at University, became a monk, and now works in the corporate world where he combines his teachings from the monk lifestyle and his skills to serve others with a higher purpose!

What on Earth is a "Yogi"? Can this mindset be used in our everyday lives? What about building businesses? Does this have anything to do with manifestation, vibes, affirmations? "It's no surprise that every successful person I know, whether they feel spiritual or not, are very self aware and have control over the mind"

Join Sanjib and I as we discuss what a Yogi might potentially be, how Sanjib went from a corporate employee to an entrepreneur, and how he ended up creating the Yogi Warrior Tribe with the same mindset. Sanjib is the founder of the Yogi Warrior Tribe and helps other entrepreneurs build their own businesses, whilst living with more freedom and fulfilment than they ever thought possible! https://www.yogiwarriortribe.org/ Follow Sanjib: https://www.instagram.com/sanjibm108/ AND https://www.facebook.com/Sanjibm108

What really is money? The idea of money is viewed differently by different people. Some people view it as a way to sustain themselves, some to acquire material possessions, and we'll occasionally see few who see it as a status of "power". We work hard to make money, but is there a way to make money work hard for us? Can we use our finances more consciously, more sustainably, and perhaps more positively?

Join Tom and me as we discuss what investing is, why it's for everyone, and how we can use our money to contribute towards bringing about a positive change in this world, whilst also getting a sustainable financial gain. Tom is the co-founder of Circa5000, an incredible app that allows anyone to invest in companies that are focused on creating a better world. This includes clean energy and water, medicine, food, cybersecurity and data, as well as education. Follow Circa5000: https://www.instagram.com/circa5000/

How do people in society interact with one another, is it dependent on an individual or all the people? What causes heart disease, is it genetics or a bad lifestyle, or a sum of both? We’ve often used a “reductionistic” approach to breakdown problems into smaller pieces and put them together. This model is used everywhere – engineering, medicine, computing, finance, society, you name it. But what if this model only gave us part of the bigger picture? What if the problem wasn’t just a sum of all its parts?

Join Ruben and me as we discuss the meaning behind complex systems, why they’re important, and how we’re using them today to understand the world at a deeper level. Ruben is a student at Imperial College London, studying a masters’ in Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning. He did his undergraduate in biochemistry and management. Most of us go to school and are taught certain topics a certain way. What may have started off as an exciting journey full of curiosity and a journey to find answers, some of us may have felt like the drive changed - maybe it became very exam-driven, an overwhelming pressure to "do well", or a means to an end. What happens when the motivation behind learning changes? How does this affect us as students, as well as individuals as part of a bigger society? Changing the education system as a whole may be difficult, but how can we change our own perspective to do well in this system, but also take it as a learning opportunity to grow?

Join Sonal and me as we discuss learning and education from the perspective of both a student and a teacher of life! I believe education is a foundation to everything we do in our lives, and we must find a way to use it more consciously. Sonal is a women's coach and has been a full-time tutor for many years now. She also runs a "soul gym" which aims at spreading knowledge and food for the soul. Follow Sonal: https://www.instagram.com/misssoulgym

We all lead unique lives with different activities. Despite this, a lot of us often feel "incomplete" in the things we do. That initiates the question - are we doing these things to fill a hole in us? Are there things we can do to feel more whole? Can we do the same things, but with a different intention, and achieve a different result?

Join Pooja and me as we discuss what wholeness means to us, and how we can use that to live a more fulfilling and complete life. Pooja Khatri is currently working as a consultant where she has led wellness initiatives for hundreds of employees. She is also training to be a counselor, and is a core part of The Living Tee, an ethical and sustainable clothing brand. Follow Pooja: https://www.instagram.com/wellbeingwithpooj/

We often feel like we need to be stressed out in order to feel like we accomplished something. When we're zoned in, we may forget about the things that exist outside our work. How can being in a different location/ environment allow us to view our world differently?  Join Ananya and me as discuss how traveling to different places shifts our perspective on how we view the world, and how different environments can allow us to do the same thing differently. Ananya Mirchandani is a  student at Imperial College London studying Geophysics. She was offered a  place at MIT, conducted research in the future of sustainable mining,  has been part of multiple committees, and a lot more, at such a young age. We'll often experience "gaps" in our lives - whether they manifest in the form of expectations, education, equality, our relationships with people and ourselves, and in some cases, even our reality. How do these gaps come about, and how can we bridge these gaps in our lives? Do these gaps exist to be bridged, or left alone?

Join Tatjana and me as we discuss our thoughts and expectations of what "engineering" meant to us, and how our engineering years at university made us acknowledge these gaps in the world. Tatjana Mandil recently graduated from the University of Southampton studying Aeronautical and Astronomical Engineering. She has been very prominent and been a face of Women in STEM, chairing the University's Women In Engineering and was also featured on Evening Standard. I've always wondered about the similarities that psychology and spirituality share. In psychology, we talk about understanding the mind. In spirituality, we talk about viewing the mind as different from the self. What parallels exist between the two? Are they reaching for the same ideas? Through this, can we get a better understanding of mental health, and use certain techniques to overcome our negative spirals?

In this episode, join Wakeel and me as we discuss the connections between psychology and spirituality. Wakeel is a psychology student, currently studying at the University of Birmingham. His project revolves around the effects that techniques like mindfulness and gratitude have on individuals like monks, ex-military, fighters and more.
