There’s no need to make a parallel between the bread being broken and Jesus‘s body being broken. There’s weak manuscript evidence for that idea. We! Are! Back! Happy New Year!!! Welcome to season 3!!! In episode one we revisit the book, Free to Be: A Handbook to Luther's Small Catechism.The subject at hand is the Lord's Supper. The prevailing view is that the Sacrament of the Altar is memorial or symbolic in nature. Yet, biblically and according to church history, Christ is bodily present, in, with, and under the bread and wine. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. He promises to forgive us of our sin. According to Matthew 26:26, He keeps those promises at the Lord's Table, bodily. "Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." What an amazing promise. Such a comfort!

The righteousness of faith, which God imputes to us through Christ without works, . . . is a merely passive righteousness. . . . For here

Mostly through philosophy and/or contemporary categories. The Lutherans Reformers help us rightly define the human creature according to scripture. This installment is a response to episode 7 on Spirit Baptism and Pentecost, from Acts 2. In it, FLAME addressing misconceptions from some in his comment sections. The book of Acts is unique. The term, "redemptive historic uniqueness" has been used to describe its nature. Many have questions concerning the varying descriptions of the givings of the Holy Spirit. As well as, the varying descriptions of baptism's oder in connection with the giving of the Holy Spirit. In some cases, the Holy Spirit is given through baptism. In other cases, person's were baptized but had not received the Holy Spirit until the Apostles laid hands on them. FLAME aims to bring clarity to this concern. Also, he sets out to prove that the varying order of things does not mean one must experience a second and more superior baptism. Known as, "Spirit Baptism." Enjoy!

Episode 4 confronts our former way of functioning, known in scripture as the “old Adam.” The sinful flesh refuses to stay quiet as it relates to human efforts, merit, and works based living. It is God Himself who silences the old Adam by gifting us salvation. We can not earn our way into God’s good graces. Baptism is the means whereby God kills the old Adam and raises us to new life, in Christ.
