Professor John van der Oost is a Dutch microbiologist who works at Wageningen University. Van der Oost has delivered a major contribution to developing the field of CRISPR/Cas9. This is a revolutionising technique in gene editing, which is much like copy and pasting DNA. Via Zoom, we talked about the technique, its future applications and Van der Oost’s role in the discovery of the system.
