We happen to believe our own hearts often silenced some of the most powerful stories and therefore they go untold. We dive into stories that may have authors who wish to remain anonymous yet who are ready to expose some untouched memories to the light in order to spur courage, hope, and education to those in those in similar circumstances of abuse, neglect, narcissism, and trauma.
“Abandoned.” Luca explains that the record of being abandoned at a central train station in China is the only thing he knows about his birth. After being adopted in America, he was adopted a second time only five years later. Luca kindly invites us into his journey of wrestle with identity and his revelation that we are all worthy of being seen, heard, and loved.
After surviving a pre-natal injection that induces abortions, Darcy understood that God had a plan for her life. This faith in the goodness of God allowed her to overcome the doubts of who she was created to be and the pain of abuse that took place in her life while growing up. Darcy ’s forgiveness is admirable and has told those who have hurt her “there's nothing that you've done to any of us kids that God can't heal.”
At age 21, Angelica received a call that her Father unexpectedly committed suicide. This turning point brought both grief and celebration. Angelica gives us insight into her grieving process while also celebrating her Father’s relationship with Jesus on this Earth and in Heaven.
Gary Black sheds light on the epidemic of “fatherlessness” in America. He explains how vulnerability is key in creating strong and healthy relationships and that by opening up the heart, restoration can take place and silence can be broken.
