AEW Podcast In November 2020, AEW announced it had partnered with former WWE 2K developer Yuke’s and WWF No Mercy director Hideyuki “Geta” Iwashita to develop the promotion’s first console game on all major platforms. As huge fans of No Mercy (arguably the most beloved wrestling game of all time), we here at Talk AEW have been impatiently waiting for more news to drop in hopes that they will release the game sooner than later. Not much has been revealed so far and so we decided now was a good time to sit down and discuss what we would like to see included. AEW Podcast This week Sammy Guevara and Cody Rhodes tore the house down during the hotly anticipated first-ever AEW Ladder Match to determine the undisputed TNT champion. It was a phenomenal effort by both men, but it was Guevara who stole the show with three incredible spots including an awe-inspiring vertical suplex from the top of a 12-foot ladder. And if that wasn’t enough, to top it off, Sammy hit leapfrogged from the top of another ladder to deliver a cutter 30 feet in the air that brought Rhodes crashing to the mat and the crowd to their feed. It was an incredible match and an amazing end to the two-and-a-half-year-on-and-off feud between Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara who just so happen to have also wrestled the first-ever match on Dynamite. In honor of his incredible journey, we’ve decided to dedicate our main event to The Spanish God and look back on the career of Sammy Guevear so far. Before that, however, we discuss the ongoing feud between MJF and CM Punk and the surprise first AEW appearance by wrestler and social media icon Danhausen. All this and more!

AEW Podcast It’s our first episode of the new year and we already have some catching up to do. AEW Podcast AEW presented the second night of Fyter Fest this week and it did not disappoint. AEW Podcast: Double or Nothing Review AEW hosted their first PPV with a full crowd since early 2020 and boy, it did not disappoint! After Revolution, Double or Nothing was AEW’s second pay-per-view of 2021, and apart from a few minor hiccups, the event was bigger, better, and far more entertaining thanks to the crowd who injected a hefty dose of high energy and of course, the talent, who all delivered a great performance.

AEW Podcast The ratings are in for this week’s AEW Dynamite proved plenty of fans were thirsty for blood. The first-ever Blood & Guts Match helped the episode become the No. 1 overall show on cable, drawing a 0.42 rating with 1.09 million fans. The episode of course culminated in The Pinnacle defeating The Inner Circle in the ultra-violent two-ringed steel cage match. MJF forced Sammy Guevara to surrender by threatening to throw Chris Jericho off the top of the cage. What happened next had the internet in an uproar.

AEW Revolution Review “The only thing they remember is the finish – Vincent Kennedy McMahon.”
AEW Revolution has come and gone and thankfully AEW’s first pay-per-view of 2021 was full of highlights and great matches including the Tag Team Championship match, the Women’s Championship match, and the tag team Battle Royale. The event also featured the AEW debut of Christian Cage and Ethan Page who joined Cody Rhodes, Penta El Zero Miedo, Max Caster, Lance Archer, and eventual winner Scorpio Sky in an action-packed six-man ladder bout! Oh, and let’s not forget the gorgeous cinematic street fight featuring Team Taz, Darby Allin, and Sting.
Yet despite these many highlights, the show is likely to be remembered for its lackluster post-main event angle, which was meant to put Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston in danger way via an exploding ring— but instead went off like lousy pyro.

AEW Podcast: What are the Best AEW Theme Songs? A wrestler’s entrance is a big deal since it helps them completely captivate an audience, even before they step in the ring. And the theme music to accompany their entrance is just as important since it helps establish a mood and reveals something about the wrestler’s persona.
All Elite Wrestling has done a superb job of producing some great theme songs for their talent, but since the company doesn’t get enough recognition for their hard work, we decided to set aside some time and discuss our favoruite AEW Theme songs this week.
In our main event, we discuss our disappointment with the recent episode of AEW Dynamite, the first of a two-part special titled New Year’s Smash. We discuss the sudden appearance of the Good Brothers; the messy match between Cody Rhodes and Matt Sydal; the ongoing feud between Miro and Best Friends; the problem with too many factions, and the awful match between Abadon and Hikura Shida for the Women’s Championship.
The last episode of AEW Dynamite that aired in 2020 is also the best episode of the year. Originally intended to be part of AEW’s two-week New Year’s celebration, Tony Kahn opted to change plans last minute and turn it into a loving tribute for Mr. Brodie Lee, real name Jon Huber, who tragically died on December 26, 2020.
Huber’s death brought with it an outpouring of grief and a celebration of his life throughout the wrestling industry and AEW did everything they could to honor his legacy with matches featuring his friends and contemporaries. Not only did the card honor Huber himself, but also his wife, Amanda, and two children, Brodie and Nolan, as well as members of Huber’s Dark Order stable up.

As Covid-19 continued to spread worldwide shutting down everything from non-essential businesses to public gatherings, everything from the Olympics to movie theaters was forced to close over the course of the past few months. Everything that is, except for professional wrestling.
We’ve all heard the phrase: “The show must go on,” but this year, AEW brought new meaning to the expression. During the current coronavirus outbreak, AEW did the best to provide entertainment for its fans who desperately needed an escape from the harsh reality of the pandemic sweeping the globe. And despite several limitations, the professional wrestling association has done an excellent job thus far.
All Elite Wrestling might only be in its second year of existence, but the nascent promotion continues to make waves, consistently beating WWE’s NXT show in the ratings each Wednesday night with a headlock on the 18-49 demo. The wrestling promotion has been on fire as of late with episodes of Dynamite gracing fans with some of the fastest, most furious, and entertaining wrestling matches ever broadcast on cable TV— not to mention jaw-dropping surprises, unexpected twists, and risqué turns. Ladies and gentlemen, AEW did not disappoint. In fact, they knocked it out of the park in what was a crazy year from start to finish.

When AEW launched its flagship show Dynamite on TNT last year, it marked the first time since 2014 that WWE faced direct competition from a global promotion on a major cable network. The show’s debut drew 1.4 million viewers and proved that there was a large audience looking for something to watch outside of what was being produced by Vince McMahon. Fast forward a year later and AEW has been one of the bright spots in what has been a tough year. Dynamite is arguably one of the most exciting programs on television; Dark has become the best thing to watch on YouTube and almost every AEW pay-per-view event has been a runaway success!

AEW Dynamite debuted on October 2nd, 2019. After the past few months, that seems like a lifetime ago. There was a lot of hype going into the first episode of AEW’s new show, as wrestling fans looked for a viable alternative to WWE. Many of WWE’s wrestlers were looking for the same thing.
While they had pay-per-view events leading into it, the first episode of Dynamite was a huge benchmark for a company that was still new. It put them on a direct collision course with WWE every Wednesday evening. Specifically, Dynamite has spent the last year feuding with NXT and generally winning.
Chris Jericho blinked and 30 years in a wrestling ring went by. It probably feels that way for a lot of his fans, too. Following someone’s career, these days is actually relatively easy thanks to the internet. If a wrestler drinks some water, several websites cover it. But it was a much different story back in the day.
