I tried the Switch Kirby demo and was shocked by how it felt like a 3DS game. Had some fun but felt like either the demo or the game wasn't very polished and ultimately thought I didn't need to bother with the franchise. Luckily, Horky and Solace encouraged me to try the older kirby games on NES and SNES, and boy am I glad I did! They were instantly a lot of fun with their tight mechanics, challenge and boundless creativity. They also had the weird mix of being released late on systems (after the next gen had come out) and also looking like they were a port of the previous gen (nes felt like gameboy, snes felt like nes) This made the Switch game feeling like a 3ds game make more sense. Now I'm intrigued to try the full version of the switch game, but also still hesitant to plunk down full price. Oh what to do.
Hi, second day of Too Long Didn't Watch, review in progress of ghostwire tokyo. I come back to earth from yesterdays acceptance of the pleasant game loop. There isn't enough here to justify the full price at this point. Perhaps the end will really wow me, and there was one very well done setpiece, but it could use way more of those.
Hi, long time no content here. I have a new series for the podcast called 'Too Long Didn't Watch (TLDW). After every stream with a game I will summarize my thoughts on that game with a quick review in progress episode. It'll be uploaded here and to the youtube channel with footage from the game. Today is after two long sessions with Ghostwire: Tokyo. I was inspired to do it since I had such a different reaction to the game the second session. I went from being very unimpressed to locking into the game's flow and really enjoying it. I also think it's the most efficient way to create a lot of podcast episodes and to give people a cliffs notes of the streams who don't want to watch 3-4 hour episodes. I've been skipping my hockey team's 2.5 hour games and just watching 10 minute condensed highlights myself, and also cherry picking the highlighted SNL sketch videos, so why not here. Thanks to Solace for being the podcast's number one fan and for hanging out on the stream with me today. Cheers

Horky always makes me laugh and think, so it was great to talk to him about this. Little Nightmares was really good! The story goes to some wild and abstract places so there was plenty to discuss at the end. Looking forward to the sequel when I've had a bit of time away from this. Hope you enjoy!
I love ranking franchises. This format has been super fun to incorporate everyone's different thoughts. The zelda series was more divisive than I thought. I originally thought of each Zelda game as more or less than the same formula. While the main gameplay is similar, each title generally has a unique gimmick that can breathe life into the game or become tedious. I quite enjoyed blasting through a few hours of games I'd never touched before like spirit tracks, Oracle of Seasons, and I even bought my first 3DS for Link Between Worlds.
From a podcast presentation perspective, this is the episode where the most people sent their thoughts. Incorporating as much as I could ended up making this one the most wordy and scripted. I felt like I lost some natural energy and momentum with this style, but I was happy to try it and will keep trying to refine my process.
