The cross of the Lord Jesus Christ has absolutely transformed my life! Not only are my sins forgiven (which all Christians realize) but the cross is also the central theme of the bible and of my day to day life! I will be doing some Bible teaching as well as having conversations "in the Light of the gospel"!
Some people feel we need to make a big stink about what the world thinks about Jesus! Jesus told us not to be alarmed by what the world thinks. Jesus has OVERCOME the world!
Marriage is a great mystery, and a it's a great privilege to have another eternal soul commit their life to you! I'm humbled by my wife's attention and affection to me, and it's even more humbling to know that our marriage is supposed to be a testament to Christ and His church!
I've know Cornelius Penner and some of his brothers for many years now. It was nice to sit down to hear his whole story! I hope you're inspired by his story and moved to reach into someone's messy life and see how you can help!
George Schmidt is a great example of how coming to Jesus can set someone free from depression! It didn't happen overnight, but the results through the years seem obvious to me. George was once the sad case of a man on the brink of self destruction, now he loves to give the gospel to people through singing! God works in us all. Each of us has to choose between God and sin or even God and religion. Henry was mostly a "good" religious man, yet he knew that there was a choice to be made. First God saved his wife, then slowly worked on Henry to the point where he was willing to give up his religious ideas to cling to Christ alone!

A few years ago he and a few others took on the mountainous task of translating the Bible into Plautdietsch! There had already been a couple versions of the Bible translated and have done a lot of good! However, they took more of a thought for thought approach and these men along with Gerhard felt it necessary to do a proper word for word translation. Isaac does not come from a Mennonite culture...BUT having grown up in a religious homeschool environment he can identify with much of what we often discuss on this channel. Much of the same legalism that many Mennonites experience, made it's way into his life from a very early age. There was the ignorance of sexual sin and temptation, the lack of technology, and the temptation to think of "our way" of living as THE way of living. ALL religious people need saving! Christ provides the way through the confusion to freedom!
When David was recently faced with the choice of pursuing truth and the gospel or a relationship with his parents, he decided to lay it all on the line and he chose Christ! He moved to Texas on his own during Covid to start over and is getting married this coming summer!I just met David today...but first impressions are that he's trying his best to navigate some pretty tough stuff! We all get caught up in sin. We ALL need to be saved. We probably ALL get addicted to something that isn't good for us!...however, some of us sinners get addicted to terrible things like drugs! Henry and his wife Tina have become overwhelmed at times, trying to get help to hurting people. There's been times when the waiting list to come to them for counselling has been well over a year long! Now they're taking a huge step in jumping full time into the the ministry that God has given them!Henry is soft spoken and has a very heart...He genuinely cares.
Cameron and I had a very enjoyable and uplifting conversation about his life in the Hutterite colony. I can see a lot similarities between Mennonites and Hutterites, but there's a fair share of differences as well! One conclusion is sure... both groups need to come to Christ in faith and accept salvation by grace!
Isaak grew up in a typical Old Colony Mennonite home. At14 years of age everything began to change... this was when his dad came to faith in Christ! This had a profound impact on Isaak, yet he resisted God's call for a couple more years. When he came to the realization that he wasn't such "a good guy", things shifted. Religion couldn't shake off his guilt, but trusting in Christ's finished work did the trick!
Jesus said to GO, go into ALL the world and preach the gospel! The book of Revelation states that there will be saints gathered to Jesus that are from EVERY tribe, nation, kindred and tongue... This is our mission as the church of Jesus! Mark understood the gospel "from a child". However, it was in his 20's that he felt God challenged him to recognize that he had been steering his life in his own direction. Johnny is a truck driver, and since his conversion to Christ has used his time on the road to fill his mind with things of God! Nothing seems to thrill him more than the good old fashioned Gospel! The gospel made him feel truly accepted and loved for the first time in his life and he really wants others to know the same, powerful truth!

Andrew was raised in a very strict sect of the Amish and has learned to spot religion from a distance! He and I both struggle with reacting to what we see in religion around us and going back to "what saith the scriptures?". What does church leadership look like? Or more importantly, what SHOULD it look like? Andrew has some very valid questions about the nature of "pastors and elders" that we wrestle with in this conversation. Does every church have to have Elders ordained? Or can Elders simply rise to the surface? Is there a need for official ordination?We're not claiming to have all the answers... in fact we may be offering more question's then answers... but I think we need to think things through, and not assume we know what God wants, because of our preconceived beliefs.
Addiction can feel hopeless!!...both for the person that's addicted and the people that are stuck trying to help them out of it! There is hope in Christ! Tony has made so many changes since the last time we spoke on this podcast!! Some difficult and challenging, some thrilling and joyous! Through it all he's been growing in grace and the knowledge of the Lord!... and that doesn't always come naturally. I've been hearing about Mose for a number of years now and it was a real pleasure to be able to have this conversation. He was raised in a very strict sect of the Amish religion and began to question some of the traditions that held the community together... his questioning didn't end until Jesus finally found him! John and I had good conversation... we touched on quite a few Mennonite issues. We agreed on several, and disagreed on others....but there was mutual respect between us both. John is a Mennonite, I am a former Mennonite. I'm a Mennonite by heritage only...John joined a conservative Mennonite by choice. It was a joy to hear that his understanding of the gospel is clear and simple and that there are Mennonite groups that do hold to much of the doctrine I do! I'd love to hear from you all on some of these topics.

There are so many good things that were handed to me because I was raised a Mennonite! I can't imagine being raised in any other way! I'm not really complaining by pointing out these things... but I think they need to be pointed out. As much good as there is in the Mennonite culture and tradition, I think there are some detrimental beliefs that are keeping people from knowing God in truth! Cornelius and his wife Teresa have an amazing story! Teresa, who was not raised a Mennonite at all, became a LOW GERMAN speaking, DRESS and HEAD COVERING wearing MENNONITE to get married to Cornelius! They both had a scattered past full of much failure and sin, but GOD has been redeemed it through Christ!
Abe and I go way back to our teen years! He was one of the "five guys" that I often mention. We haven't spent much time together in the last 20 years so it was really nice to catch up again! I had never actually heard much of his testimony before and it was a privilege to have him share it with us all!
I've never met Adam ( @manofgodatlarge ) in person, but I've enjoyed several of his videos on youtube and facebook... and I'm thankful for the technology that allowed us to record this conversation! Many of you perhaps have someone in your life that is trapped in the grips of DRUGS and narcotics... I think you'll be able to identify with Adam's story. Being a father requires us to be intentional! In Ephesians 6 the Apostle Paul says, "...ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." This means that dads can't "check out" when they get home from work! Anyone can be a dad, it takes a real man to be a good father!
Peter grew up in Mexico, but his upbringing sounds quite unique to me. He was taught from young on that God loves him. Reading the bible was also very common in his household....and yet The Gospel was kind of unknown. It wasn't until about 10 years ago that he really came to understand the grace of God in truth! His passion for the gospel is infectious! I'm glad you all get the chance to hear his story!

Joshua Steele has been a missionary in Ukraine for about 20 years! However, his ministry began in Texas when he was just 16 years old! In this conversation we discuss Joshua's childhood conversion, his young start to ministry, his confusion about whether his conversion was real, and his entry into overseas missions! Later in the discussion we also get into what's really happening on the ground in Ukraine. Joshua and his wife Kelsie currently live in Slovakia.... they plan to be there until things settle down in Ukraine.

Jeremy is my oldest Nephew. Obviously I've known him his whole life... and yet there is much I don't know about him. The last few years have been a real challenge for Jeremy. Between losing his mom to an untimely death, realizing that he and his Wife Emily were infertile (to this point anyway), to going through the adoption process, and dealing with personal hang-ups.... he's seen a lot! Yet through it all he's learned to look to Jesus for comfort and help!
Nathan had a very unique upbringing to say the least! His family moved to the hills of Tennessee when he was quite young and made due on very little income but a whole lot of adventure and love! Nathan was right there watching lives transformed through the good new of Jesus Christ as his father, Michael Pearl, taught the bible and shared the gospel with all that would give him ear. Nathan and his wife Zephyr and their 4 children are currently living and ministering in Hawaii on the Island of Kauai. He is carrying the gospel torch on with passion! I was very blessed hearing his story and feeling the joy he has in reaching the world with the gospel and teaching the bible to Christ's church! I really enjoyed talking to Dave Fehr! I learned so much about him that I previously didn't know. His upbringing was one of almost nothing being constant... from his mom leaving the family behind, to moving from State to State and town to town, to his dad attempting suicide right before his eyes. It's amazing to me that God reached into Dave's life and gave him something steady to trust in! Dave has a real love for the simple gospel! Many of you will be able to identify with one part or another of his story. I hope you're blessed and encouraged by it!
Henry Wall (the Spanish preacher) is still just as passionate about the Lord as he was 40 years ago when he was first saved! At the age of 30 he was dying of an abused and failing liver. The Bishop of the Old Colony in Durango Mexico came to his death bed and told him that there was no hope for him! That's when God stepped in and saved him, not only from the death bed, but from eternal damnation!
It's been one of the great joys in my life to see Neil get saved and to watch God turn his life around! I've always looked up to Neil, seeing that he's my older brother, but never more than I do now. He's a steady, faithful, husband and father, and also an able minister of the gospel! I think you'll be really blessed to hear how he came to Christ!
Abe Dyck is a faithful Deacon at our church, The church at Springfield. He's a very stable influence on many people and has much farther reaching effect than he realizes! In this conversation you'll hear Abe's journey of coming to faith in Jesus, and he'll share some of the key principles he and his wife used in raising their 5 children! I was really encouraged by talking to Abe and I think you'll be very blessed by how God brought him to saving faith!

John Dyck was sitting next to me when I first understood the gospel and was born again... I never would have thought that 18 years later we'd still be sitting next to each other serving in the same local congregation! John is a good and faithful believer and fellow minister of the gospel of our Lord and Saviour! I hope you're blessed and encouraged by his story!
Meet George, he's a new Christian, but that doesn't stop him from serving!! He only got saved 3 years ago, but has been able to bear some good fruit already by spending himself for people lost in drug addiction! Pete Siemens has been my closest friend over the last 15 years or so... We've both learned so much from each other! Pete is a faithful husband to his wife Helen and has 7 great kids! John Boldt was born and raised in Ontario and moved out to Alberta shortly after marriage. He and John Giesbrecht have been ministering together in Southern Alberta, and on YouTube on the channel called Bible Truths.
John has a really neat coming to faith story in that it was actually an Old Colony minister that helped him to finally see that you CAN KNOW that you're saved... in fact the preacher went so far as to say that you NEED to KNOW that you're going to heaven when you die!

John is a new friend to me. I met him online when he reached out to me after watching some of my videos. We have many of the same influences and have very much the same desire in life.... To walk in faith, to live holy, to love our wives, raise godly children, serve the church and to reach the world with the good news of Jesus Christ! John was born and raised in Ontario and moved to Alberta when he was 16. He spent some years rebelling and then many years trying to outdo his "badness" with strict religious living. Finally he found liberty through the gospel and has since dedicated his life to freeing others with the same message!
Greg is a good friend that I really respect! Some years ago he joined the Canadian Military...now he's signed up to be in God's Army, serving on the front lines of cross cultural missions! I think you'll be blessed and challenged by Greg's life.
After listening to Pete's story I think most people will realize that they've had it pretty good... In this interview Pete is very vulnerable and raw, you'll hear about all of his hurts, all of his ups and downs!
After losing his mom to a brutal killing and seeing his dad put in prison for 15 years it took him a while to sort through what his life was all about! His heart is now set on walking with God and loving his wife and children and he now dedicates much of his time to ministering and serving the young people of his church.
Here is a bit of my back story. Where I came from and how I got to where I am now. In particular how my view of God was drastically altered by the gospel of the Lord Jesus!

I praise God for what He has done in me, BUT I praise Him even more for what He did for me in the person and work of Jesus Christ!
Not many people ever really drop the terrible habit of Meth. It's addiction with the first drag, and very, very difficult to ever stop! John Fehr was addicted for 9 years and it nearly cost him everything!
He's been in and out of jail, and was even separated from his family for 3 years at one point! As the saying goes, "when all hope was lost", God has set him FREE through the gospel!
God did a great miracle when he took a young pot smoking rebel and turned him into a bible thumping preacher! haha. I love Jake and we've been friends since we were little kids.
He's recently moved off to Winnipeg Manitoba for a ministry opportunity.

I really appreciate John Wiebe. When I first got saved he provided some sound wisdom and counsel to me. It was a joy to talk to him again and to hear more of his story. There is not doubt in my mind that John truly trusts in the finished work of Jesus and nothing else!
Tony used to attend our youth group.... I watched the wonder in his eyes as he first understood the good news of Jesus Christ! He spent some of his teen years causing trouble and narrowly missed getting into much more serious trouble... thanks to the grace of God! Now he's a happily married man that is a real blessing to our church. He's also a very successful car salesman at the Ford dealership in St. Thomas. Be encouraged by what God is capable of doing with a person that trusts him!
John Janzen- Christian, husband, father, pastor, real estate agent and property owner... and the list could go on. John has been living in light of the gospel for over 20 years and God has redeemed him from much... from sin and from religion! He's real, open, and honest and has a great passion for God's people and for preaching the gospel. I love the man and I'm sure this conversation will help you to appreciate him more as well.

Joe came to know Jesus shortly after I did and we were heavily influenced by many of the same people and ministries. However, Joe and I are quite different in many ways too...so I don't think this will just be a copy of me! haha. Joe was an angry young boy that didn't know how to control his emotions, but through coming to Jesus has become a strong, stable, gentle, and good husband and father! I believe you'll be edified by hearing some of his story.
Carlos is a husband and father first, I guess that's what I love about him most. I've watched him go from a young ambitious man, to a mature, steady, successful man! Funny enough, my second episode is also with a friend named Willy! Willy Penner is a husband and father and the owner and operator of Stone Mill Cabinetry in Aylmer ON. A quote from Willy that really stood out to me was, “The goal is not to have a business. The goal is to give your family the resources to enjoy life and thrive.
