Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table by Louie Giglio

Louie Giglio’s Step By Step Method of “Winning the Battle of Your Mind”

For every thought that comes into your mind:

  1. Determine the source of the thought.
  2. Is the thought congruent with God’s Word?
  3. If it isn’t, then bind it to Jesus’ name and cast it out.
  4. Find where in Scripture the subject of that thought is proscribed.
  5. Then walk in the truth of God’s Word.

Happy Labor Day! We aren’t taking a holiday break so here’s this week’s episode! We had one of our favorite people, Kelly Morris, join us today. This week Brook and Loren discuss the strategic approach Paul modeled for us in the way he contextualized the Gospel for people. We tackle what people probably knew or didn’t know in the geographic setting of Acts 13, including what Scripture the Jews had access to without the printing press (or Amazon!). Happy 2022 everybody! We are kicking off the E6 Podcast this year talking about the interesting 10 days of a year it’s already been, why this podcast exists, our upcoming AWAKEN journey with 8 other churches, and diving into the conversation on prayer.

Prayer Of Relinquishment

Today, O Lord, I yield myself to you.

May your will be my delight today.

May your way have perfect sway in me.

May your love be the pattern of my living.

I surrender to you

My hopes,

My dreams,

My ambitions.

Do with them what you will, when you will, as you will.

I place into your loving care

My family,

My friends,

My future.

Care for them with a care that I can never give.

I release into your hands

My need to control,

My craving for status,

My fear of obscurity.

Eradicate the evil, purify the good, and establish your kingdom on earth.

For Jesus’ sake,

Amen.

This week Brook is out of town with Compassion International and preparing for Colonial to dive in very soon (December!) as global ministry partners. So Tanner has taken the hosting reins and rejoined Loren for our weekly, Monday afternoon episode. In addition to sharing some excitement about Brook’s rare time away and what it means for our church, Tanner and Loren grapple, in general, with the difficulties of parts of Scripture. Why is God so black and white in some cases when it comes to His call to holiness and so gracious and merciful to people in others? What do we do with aspects of the Bible that can be very difficult? We hope the conversation is edifying and helpful!
