There is just one week left in the 2024 MLB regular season and both the American and National League wild card races are INTENSE! What will the playoff picture look like by the weekend?
We are one week into the 2024 MLB regular season! We've already seen a TON of fun action and we're here to talk about it all!
After a great offensive start to the season, the Blue Jays were looking to stay on track in Houston. However, they ran into the brick wall that is Ronel Blanco, who no-hit them in game one of the series! The Blue Jays followed that up by getting one hit two days later! And just as fast as the Blue Jays flopped from good to bad, the Astros swapped from bad to good. What does this series mean for both teams moving forward?
The Marlins are the only WINLESS team in baseball left. Luis Arraez has not looked like himself and most of their lineup has been dull. When will they get back on track, or will they ever get back on track?
The Dodgers look unstoppable, cruising to a 7-2 record thus far. Mookie Betts has been the best player on the planet, leading MLB in AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, Hits, HR, and RBI! Not to mention, Shohei Ohtani slugged his first homer in Dodger Blue as well. Does it look like any team can stop them?

Is that true?
The Astros locked up their cornerstone franchise player as they signed Jose Altuve to a 5-year, $125 million deal. He is a centerpiece for the team both on and off the field and has won championships with the ‘Stros in 2017* and 2022. Shohei Ohtani’s contract with the Dodgers is like no other. The two-way superstar will make $700 million because of the mega-deal, but is it as simple as that? With contract deferrals, Ohtani will only make $20 million in the next 10 years. That means the Dodgers will only pay the biggest superstar in baseball history $2 million a year while he plays for them. Will this allow the Dodgers to build a super team?

Soto has been linked to the Yankees since before last season and it took a while, but the Evil Empire finally got their guy. The 2023 MLB Winter Meetings have begun! This is usually where the offseason officially kicks off, and this year we could see a lot of big moves throughout the course of the week!

The 2023 World Series begins TONIGHT and it will start in Arlington Texas as the Texas Rangers host the Arizona Diamondbacks!
The Rangers have been a powerhouse team all season and have dominated their way through the playoffs, most recently beating the defending World Series champion Astros in seven games. They have everything to prove as they look to finish their mission with a ring.
The Diamondbacks are the underdogs. Throughout the playoffs, America has backed them and pushed them on. They upset the Brewers, Dodgers, and Phillies to get to this World Series and they don’t plan on letting it all go to waste now.
What will the 2023 World Series bring? Who are the biggest players to look out for? And of course, most importantly, who will win?

After defeating the Phillies 4-2 in game seven of the NLCS, the Arizona Diamondbacks are heading to their first World Series since 2001!

The Phillies and Diamondbacks have battled against one another in the NLCS, as they head to a game seven of their own TONIGHT in Philadelphia! Who will win the NL Pennant and go on to face the Rangers?

Both the ALCS and NLCS are two games in and in both series teams find themselves up two games to none.
In the ALCS, the Rangers marched into Houston and grabbed games one and two against the defending World Series Champs. Now, they head back home to Arlington looking to close it out.Yordan Alvarez tried his best, playing through a virus and hitting TWO home runs.
In the NLCS, the Phillies absolutely rolled at the Bank, convincingly taking both games and having fun while doing it.

Orlando Arcia made a huge mistake mocking Bryce Harper while reporters were in the Braves clubhouse. Harper made Arcia and the Braves pay in game three of the NLDS, setting up a potential series-clinching game four at home for the Phillies.
The Rangers and Astros already clinched their series’, the Rangers doing so with a sweep of the Orioles and the Astros taking care of the Twins in four games. This sets up a battle for Texas for the first time in playoff history in this ALCS!
And of course, the Diamondbacks proved to be better than their underdog status as they have SWEPT the Dodgers in the NLDS. The Dodgers collapse seems yearly at this point and this year they were subject to the red-hot Snakes.

ONE LAST WEEKEND! The 2023 regular season is coming to a close and the playoff races are STILL going!
The AL West is still undecided as well as the AL AND NL WILD CARDS!
How will this final weekend end and what could the playoffs wind up looking like?
We are just ONE week away from the conclusion of the 2023 regular season! It has certainly been a fun one so far and it still is far from over!
The Rangers are leading the AL West as of Monday and will look to hold onto the lead through the last week of the season to secure their playoff spot and a division title. Will they be able to hold on while the Astros and Mariners fight it out for the Wild Card?
With that, the AL Wild Card is also close, with four teams fighting for three spots, which teams will be able to make it to the Postseason?
The NL Wild Card is even crazier than the AL, with FIVE teams fighting out for just three spots. The weekend was very telling of how they could finish, but anything can happen in the next six games.
Regardless of what happens and who makes it to the postseason, it will for sure be a wild final week!
The postseason creeps closer and closer each day, which means time is running out for some teams to punch their playoff ticket.
The heavily contested NL Wild Card is still up for grabs. The Phillies sit in the front, up 3.5 games, but below that lies utter chaos. The Diamondbacks, Cubs, Marlins, and Reds all lie a game within each other and the Giants sit just two games behind. Which team has what it takes to slug it out and make the playoffs?
The AL West has been way closer than many people thought it would be. The Astros have risen into first after a bumpy start, but the Rangers and Mariners do not fall far behind. With just two weeks left, can the Astros hold on and take yet another AL West Crown?
The Angels have once again disappointed their fans and the baseball community as they clinched their eighth straight season under .500, the most consecutive seasons in MLB currently. Shohei Ohtani has been ruled out for the season with injury leaving the question: Has he played his last game in an Angels uniform?

It was a fun weekend of games capped off by the Little League World Series Classic game between the Phillies and Nationals! To add to the fun of the game, players wore custom equipment and even used custom bats. It really reminded us of the Players Weekend MLB used to do a couple of years back. Should MLB bring back players weekend?
Julio Rodriguez made history this week after stringing together 17 hits in just FOUR games! He raised all his stats and helped the Mariners find their way into a playoff spot.
The funeral for the 2023 New York Yankees was held this weekend in the Bronx as the Red Sox came in and showed them whos boss.

Not too many games last night, and with that the fun ones got to take center stage… The most interesting one was the matchup between the Dodgers and the Brewers. The Dodgers were looking to win their 11th straight game with Lance Lynn on the mound. Lynn has been a dominant force since joining the Dodgers. However, Corbin Burnes has been that guy since the beginning of last season and the Dodgers would need to get past him to continue their streak. How long will the Dodgers' win streak go on?
Julio Rodriguez had an incredible day at the plate yesterday, going 5-5 with 5 RBI’s in the final game against the Royals. Is Julio back to consistently well play?
The Cardinals are calling up their top prospect Masyn Winn this weekend. What should we expect from the 21-year-old stud?

The Battle Of Chicago ended with a bang last night in Wrigley as Christopher Morel hit a walk-off three-run homer to win it for the Cubs. The Cubs have been miles better than the White Sox this season and it came very unexpectedly. How have the Cubs managed to do so well while the White Sox have plummeted?
The Dodgers have been on FIRE as of late, proving as always that they are the force in the NL West. With the reinforcements of J.D. Martinez and Clayton Kershaw, the team will only continue to get better and better. Are the Dodgers still the team to beat in the NL?
The Yankees are going in the opposite direction of the Dodgers, falling to below .500 for the first time this late in a season since 1995. The team has underperformed and disappointed all season to the dismay of fans. Is it possible for them to turn it around?

The past couple of weeks has been historically bad for umpires in MLB, with ball/strike calls getting out of hand and borderline ridiculous. Managers and players are being thrown out left and right for arguing calls (rightfully so). Awful game calling from an umpire raises a familiar question; Does MLB need Robo Umpires to make the sport better?
Speaking of historically bad, that's what the Yankees have been this year. Every game they put together a more and more disappointing performance that puts them further and further from the playoff race. Is it fair to say the Yankees are far from a championship window?

His speed is unmatched and he may just be one of the best five-tool players in baseball now and for the foreseeable future. He and his Royals put together an exciting win against the Mariners that was capped off by a walk-off bunt! IS Bobby Witt Jr. the fastest player in baseball and is his being "stuck" on a bad Royals team a bad thing?
As the season nears an end, award races begin to come to mind. The most questionable award right now is the NL Cy Young. Who do we think deserves it most right now and who do we think will wind up taking it home come October?

We are just ONE day away from the long-awaited trade deadline in MLB. This is one of the most exciting parts of the year as many players switch teams and we find out which teams are going for it all. Shohei Ohtani hit a solo home run in the Angels' eventual 2-1 win over the White Sox and is now on pace for a hefty home run total halfway through the season and a couple of hot weeks could bring that up even higher. If he does have a few hot weeks, could he possibly break the single-season AL home run record set last year by Aaron Judge?

We inch closer and closer to the All-Star break and as we do so, games are getting more and more tense and exciting! Teams are starting to play with incredible amounts of energy and some games have a playoff atmosphere!
The Cubs and Cardinals played a two-game series in London and despite them both having underwhelming seasons, it was a fun series! Another week of baseball is in the books! The Braves did their thing and swept the Mets in shocking fashion after the Mets had leads in all three games. Is it about time we see some managerial changes coming to the Metropolitans? The panic button in New York has been pressed and no one is seeming to answer... Luis Arraez and the Marlins have been on an incredible run as of late, making a case for the division and keeping up with the Braves day after day. Luis Arraez is hitting .403 and there are some serious talks of him potentially hitting .400 come the end of the season. Can he do it? The Blue Jays starters dominated the Astros in the final three games of the series and it feels like their rotation might be more of an upside than their lineup! The standings are looking a lot different through two months of the season than we initially thought! The AL East is still a madhouse of good teams, the Diamondbacks are tied for the NL West lead, and both Central divisions SUCK! Some teams have continued to surprise us in good ways like the Texas Rangers, who lead baseball in run differential and don't seem to be slowing down any time soon, and the Diamondbacks, who are currently tied for first place in the NL West with the Dodgers! Other teams have surprised us in not-so-great ways like the San Diego Padres, who despite their incredible superstar presence from Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr, Manny Machado, and Xander Bogaerts, have struggled big-time because of their lack of pitching.
Liam Hendriks has RETURNED to MLB after defeating cancer! He picked up a win on Sunday which was also National Cancer Survivor Day! We are BEYOND happy to see Liam on the field and can't wait to see him pick up where he left off as one of the most dominant relievers in baseball! Congrats Liam!
What might be the biggest question of this season is: Will the Angels trade Shohei Ohtani? Ohtani is set to become a free agent after this season and with the Angels far out in the AL West, we could see them trade the two-way superstar at the deadline in what could be the biggest trade of all time.

So much has happened between yesterday and today that we're back again! The Braves have move passed Freddie Freeman, and the free agent market is getting smaller day by day. Hear our thoughts and what we think is going to happen as we approach the start of Spring Training games and Opening Day!
On Thursday, a new CBA was finally agreed to and just like that we have baseball back! Spring Training is underway and the full 162 game season will start on April 7th!
