Happy Wine Wednesday! Today's episode is part 3 and the last part of my "Chips & Myths" series, where I eat chips with wine and debunk common myths in the wine industry. For the wine segment today I go the spicy route and pair the TJ's version of takis with a dry Riesling. Another 10/10 let me tell you! I've had many screwcap wines on the podcast and wanted to touch on the misconception that... they're cheap quality. This wine pairing was a screwcap and let me tell you... it was great! Listen to hear more reasons why screwcaps are not anything to do with quality, and thank you for tuning in to my series the past weeks!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Today's episode is part 1 of my "Chips & Myths" series, where I eat chips with wine and debunk common myths in the wine industry. For the wine segment today I try pairing a sauvignon blanc with sour cream and onion chips which was... interesting. I also included some crunchy ASMR lol. Then I give some pointers on why the common myth of "white wine only pairs with chicken or fish" is a blanket statement that is NOT entirely true. Plus, I also give some alternative recommendations for these types of dishes. Hope you enjoy this series and stay tuned for part 2!

I'm back foxies! Wow I did not mean to take a podcast hiatus, but here I am. Thank you to those who have stayed loyal and tuned in to my new episode back, and new season! I thought... why not? What a great time to rebrand and come back with a new season.

This first episode back is a little late to the game but I am embracing the "new year, new me" attitude. Instead of making new resolutions this year, I thought it would be great to react to my resolutions from last year and reflect... so join me on this journey.

And last minute I decided to invite my sister on the second part of the podcast to talk about our ins and outs for 2024... along with some pop culture predictions. And of course what's a chattyfox podcast without a wine lesson? I dive into organic wine and try a fusion of wine and cider.. so I hope you enjoy this new episode back and stay tuned for future solo and guest episodes that I have in store!

Happy Mexican Mother's Day! Today I just sit down with some good wine and have a chatty conversation about a lot of great products to buy and that I am into at the moment. I start with some Mothers' Day gift ideas for wine lovers, and end it off with a couple of things that I am currently obsessed with. These range from food, beauty to tv shows. If you feel the same way I do about any of these things I love to hear your thoughts on them! I honestly heard podcasts just talk about their current favorites and thought it was a great idea to hopefully influence someone into my bad shopping habits LOL

This week’s episode is part 2 of my California Wine Region Series! Today I am covering Los Angeles County, my home and birthplace. Who knew Los Angeles County was considered a major wine region? But did you know it is made up of 6 AVAs? That’s how big LA county is. LA is also big on natural and organic ingredients, which means that they are popular for organic wines and kick-starting an orange wine fad. But honestly, I wanted to focus on the actual winery experience and where winemakers grow their wines in a location as big as LA. I will be focusing on the west and east sides of LA county: Malibu and Antelope Valley. I cover a brief history of how they became AVAs, their climate that makes it perfect to grow grapes, and I end off the episode with specific underrated wineries recommendations for your next LA funday. This episode is perfect if you live in LA County and are curious to try wines from places other than wine bars to get the true vineyard experience without driving out too far (because let’s be real, LA is full of wine bars and wine shops without the authentic winery vibe).

Today's episode is a solo episode and my second listener's submissions episode! This was an Instagram interactions post that I actually posted over a year ago! It was before I even started my podcast, I originally wanted to make my first episode with these interactions but ended up changing my mind and totally forgot about these submissions until recently lol. So I thought, since it's still the beginning of the new year, let's continue being reflective. So I read your submissions on what you would tell your 20 year old self, which all ranged from financial choices to relationships, which I enjoyed reading and could relate to a lot of them!

Also, for today's wine lesson, I thought it'd be great to celebrate Black History Month by featuring a wine region that isn't talk about as much: South Africa! They are a huge wine region that produces various white wines, including their famous Chenin Blancs, which is the episode's wine pairing. I love featuring different types of wine on this podcast so hopefully this month (and every month) you support black-owned businesses and try their South African Chenin Blancs.

Hello stranger, happy wine Wednesday! And Happy New Year! I am back this year with my first guest episode and because we recorded the episode a few days before the new year, we wanted to be reflective and fun, so we are playing a game this week. The game is called "We're Not Really Strangers" and if you haven't played it before... buckle up because it gets real. I am joined by Adela Martinez who has actually been on my podcast before, for a two part series (episodes 10 & 11). We get real deep with this game which we thought definitely fit the vibe for getting into the new years spirit. There's mentions of her ex boyfriends, high school memories, and our visions for the future. ALSOOOO, this is the first episode where I have a cocktail as an episode pairing! We love new beginnings. It's a chill fun one today so I hope you enjoy my first guest episode of 2023.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Thank you for tuning in to my first episode of 2023! Today is a solo episode and of course in light of the new year, I wanted to have a chat on new year's resolutions and basically the psychology behind people making new year's resolutions. I also include some Instagram interactions where I asked my foxy's what their new year resolutions were. Finally, of course I didn't forget about the wine segment this week. The wine lesson and pairing this week also goes with the "new year, new me" attitude by having some vegan chardonnay. I talk a little bit on how vegan wine is made and explain how you can be more mindful on choosing the right wine that is sustainably made and fits with your lifestyle.

He ends off the episode with his thoughts on being gay and Latino, and how that has affected his relationships among his religious family members. There's mentions of machismo, being accepted and religion. Also.... he just nonchalantly mentioned an exorcism like nothing???? LMAO trust you need to listen to know what I am talking about. He gets real deep today so I hope you enjoy today's episode and appreciate his vulnerability as much as I did.

Happy wine Wednesday! Today I have a very special guest who will remain anonymous, however they brought so much light and funniness into our conversation that it had to be turned into a two-parter. Today for part one we sit down and have a glass of a very interesting wine I never heard of until now: a white cabernet sauvignon! My guest also loves to talk about wine so we chat a bit about our experiences wine tasting, as well as some embarrassing drunk stories. Then my guest wanted to take some time to debunk some myths about the gay community, since he identifies as a gay man. This episode is full of fun, laughter and deep insights so I hope you enjoy today's episode and tune in next week to hear part 2, where we get more into the gay community and how it intersects with Latinidad.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Today I have a very exciting and festive solo episode that I really hope you enjoy and can put to use for your next Christmas movie wine night. Today I give tips and examples of pairing wine with different cheeses for your next holiday charcuterie board (or as I like to call it, char "coochie" board lol). I talk about different types of cheeses from creamy Brie to funky goat cheese, and try to recommend specific wines that can cater to any taste preferences. I end the episode by talking about some of my personal favorite Christmas movies which range from classics like Home Alone 2, chaotic comedies like The Night Before, to new releases like Violent Night. Of course to make it fun I also pair each movie with a wine based on the aesthetic (which may or may not result in you blacking out or crying your eyes out... who knows). I hope you find this episode entertaining and try it at your next movie night!

*DISCLAIMER: There are talks about NSFW topics including sex work, listener discretion is advised

Happy wine Wednesday! This week I have a conversation with Christina Salazar on her experience getting into sex work and how it's like being a plus size model. We get deep into details that include cosplay, owning your sexuality, as well as setting boundaries. She also wanted to share her thoughts on society's ideals for women and having children (spoiler alert, she doesn't want any!). It gets pretty risque this week so feel free to skip if it makes you uncomfortable (or just have it playing on mute so you can help me get listens LOL). We also jump into some tangent topics (BBLs, cocktails, etc.) but honestly those are fun too so I hope you enjoy today's episode!

Happy Holidays! With Thanksgiving literally tomorrow, I thought it was a great time to have a glass of wine and just talk about holiday anxiety and holiday stress. Similar to seasonal depression, I just never had the chance to actually talk about how holiday anxiety shows up or looks like in my life, so I hope you guys are ready for another venting session! lol. This week I talk about those pesky family members who we dread to see at Thanksgiving dinner, as well as my personal experiences and stress of people pleasing and dealing with a loss during the holidays. Holiday anxiety has many layers and you know what, it's okay. I am here for you, and even though my title makes light of the situation, if you really do feel like the holidays is a very stressful time, seek help where you feel the most comfortable! I hope you found this week's therapy session a good one and hope that it made you feel like I can be your friend to talk to :)

DISCLAIMER: I did not mention this in the episode because I am dumb, but I want to say I am not a medical professional. If you feel like you need help, seek professional advice or help this holiday season.

Today's episode is all about you! I literally just sit down and read your submissions that I received on Instagram on your hangover stories and hangover cures. I also of course talk about some stories of my personal hangover stories and cures. Things mentioned in stories include a fast speed train, blacking out at a wedding, and Jersey Mike's. Of course there's a wine tasting portion, which features a chardonnay and debunking a famous wine myth, but you can skip to 17 minutes to start hearing your submissions. These were all so fun to read so I hope you enjoy listening and remember to drink responsibly ;)

Happy wine Wednesday! Today, I am joined by my friend Janelli Vallin who is an advocate for sexual health and is a fellow Latina in the public health field. We get into a very engaging conversation about our personal experiences in the public health field, how we engage with others in the industry, and why it is important to be mindful of culture and have empathy when helping others. We both have similar passions of travel and sexual health, so I hope you find our conversation insightful and learned a thing or two on sexual health.

I am back this week for another solo episode! It's a spooky one this week, because I talk about saving money and budgeting GASP. Lol jk, but the thought of losing money or being broke scares me so I thought why don't I give some tips that helped me as a college student, but also are helping me right now as a post-grad 20 something. I also dive into a cool spooky wine pairing and give a cool mini wine lesson on pairing wine with halloween candy, just incase you wanted to give some of these a try at your next Halloween party. I hope you find these tips helpful and have a fun/safe Halloween season.

Hey beautiful! So no one told you life was gonna be this way?

I am back this week with a solo episode, and I had an urge to just talk about my 2 favorite shows: How I Met Your Mother and Friends. I thought, well these shows tackled a lot of issues and topics related to being in your 20s and felt like I needed to share my perspective of them with you all. I hope you enjoy me rambling on about these two shows and how they relate to my own 20s experience. I talk about examples like Chandler/Marshall being unemployed, Barney/Robin/Lily/Monica having daddy& mommy issues, as well as the most common dilemma of going out with your friends... splitting the bill GASP.

This week's wine pairing is also a different one and relates to this week's mini wine lesson... a dessert wine! Yes, for all my sweet wine loving followers, this wine is a great one to try! It literally came straight from Greece as well. I go more into depth about the wine itself and how exactly dessert wines are made.

We're back at it again for a part two of our conversation about all things wine and Astrology! Today Stephanie, Kyle & Cherie dive into more personal stories which involve an engagement with a Gemini man gasp, how they handle conflict based on their placements, and end the episode with a funny fast round (which includes best/worst traits of each sign). The Sagittarius slander continues! It gets REAL on this week's episode. And of course, we continue our wine tasting experience with our last 2 wines, where they give their honest opinions and overall rate all the 4 wines they tried! Since Cherie is not a wine drinker, she had some interesting points to say... lol. Also make sure to tune in until the end, they finish off the episode with a bang by giving some real authentic advice and life lessons for all the 20 somethings out there.

This episode has many firsts! For one, this is the first episode of the Chatty Fox history with 3 guests! Introducing my step sister Stephanie, her boyfriend Kyle, and her best friend Cherie. They sit down and have a chat with me about all things Astrology! We get into basics like the astrological signs and natal charts, but also get into specifics like about their own experiences with tarot readings. They also were troopers and agreed to have a wine tasting even though they are beginners with wine, so they have very interesting perspectives and opinions about the wines we had. The first 2 out of 4 wines are featured in today's episode. It's a jam packed conversation so of course there are 2 parts. If you enjoyed this week's conversation, make sure to tune in next week for part 2!

Hello! Happy #WineWednesday! This week is a solo episode with me and another week of being my therapist lol. I dive into the topic of people pleasing and how I learned to start respecting my boundaries. I basically go over all of the times I was a doormat to people and how I'm slowly starting to stand up for myself. Enough is enough, this Pisces is tired! I chose this topic for my episode because I came across a thread about this topic and they related it to their childhood trauma and seeing their parents constantly fight... and omg did I resonate with that a lot! Tune in to hear more about my experiences growing up and how I think that connects to my own people pleasing tendencies. I hope you enjoy it and find it insightful, grab a glass and let's chat!

Also sorry for my voice sounding so raspy, I am still recovering from Covid at the moment but I did feel well enough to drink some wine and chat #rip.

Good nutrition impacts the development of the fetus and sets the stage for a healthy lifestyle. Ensuring that a mother is receiving the necessary nutrition is crucial for any pregnancy. However, with vegan and vegetarian diets on the rise, mothers who follow these diets are prone to vitamin deficiency that could lead to adverse developmental effects on the infant. This podcast presents brief research on vitamin deficiency among vegan and vegetarian pregnant women, as well as the importance of supplementation and how gynecologists can support their patients through nutritional education.

Another solo episode this week! I wanted to take a break from all the job searching to sit down with a glass of wine and chat with you guys. This topic has been on my mind a lot lately, especially because I am STILL unemployed and living at home with my parents as a 26 year old, but hey I feel like that should be normalized right? This week I get into how I personally feel about still living at home in my late 20s, the pros and cons that made me decide to move back home, and why I believe it is OKAY if you are on the same boat as I am. I also share some data and Instagram interactions about this topic and those in their 20s. So if you are in the same boat as I am and just want to drink some wine while venting about the internal struggles and guilt that comes with still living at home in your 20s, then grab a glass and chat with me!

Mama came out to play today! This week we continue our conversation with Lissien, where we are a couple of glasses of wine in and get SPICY. Yes it is spicy this week so be warned this episode is NSFW and definitely listener discretion is advised (but I mean if you're a 20 something you know that already lol). We also continue to share San Antonio's sweet red so there's no new wine pairing this week but stay tuned next week for a brand new wine pairing and brand new solo episode!

Introducing Lissien! Lissien is my second 30-something on my podcast and someone I have only known for a few months but feel like I have known for longer! She's a fun soul and definitely was a great time to chat with over a glass of wine. I was so excited when she told me she loves San Antonio wine like I do so we of course opened a bottle of wine together. Our conversation was so great that it has to be a two parter, so for part 1 this week we dive into her journey with spirituality and motherhood. She also ends part 1 on her dating experience as a single mom and gets even spicer the more glasses of wine we drink, so if you loved it stay tuned next week for part 2 where we get more spicy!

Another solo episode this week! I wanted to take a little break from studying for finals and just make a fun, casual episode. I was also feeling nostalgic so I wanted to give some commentary on some pop culture moments of the 2010s! Moments include Harry Potter, scandals and "hide your kids, hide your wife". I hope you enjoy this little fun episode like if you're giving commentary with me, this was actually a lot of fun and nostalgic to remember these moments again. I also included a little wine lesson on Pet Nats and get into this cool brand I discovered that combines their love for horror and wine.

The infamous Cinthya is finally on as a guest! I have mentioned her countless times on the pod and she's finally here having a glass and chatting with me. It's so funny because we had a different topic and direction planned for this episode but of course we steered into a different direction. This week Cinthya dives into the topic of gender roles and toxic masculinity especially within a Latino household. She shares personal stories on gender roles/stereotypes, her relationship with her siblings and toxicity among work and family. And of course for her episode's wine segment, we pulled out old reliable: San Antonio wine! If you are interested to chat and get to know my bff Cinthya Marin, stay tuned.

Let's talk about... SEX. This week's episode is definitely NSFW so listener discretion is advised... I sit down and chat with one of my good friends Adela Martinez, we drink some great wine and get ~frisky~. We talk about all things sex, including funny hookup stories, fetishes we are into at the moment, and what we wish we knew about sex in our early twenties. There's mentions about our body count, 9/11 and poop... so it's an interesting one for sure LOL. If you wanna get pegged.. I mean if you wanna follow Adela on social media, her username is @nastydela

This week's topic is a different tone but we felt like it was an important one to bring to light and hopefully make others out there feel like they aren't alone. I interview my sister on her mental health journey, especially during the quarantine time between 2020-2021. She details her experiences feeling symptoms of anxiety, how she felt being stuck at home for a whole year, and how it led to her being prescribed medication to treat her symptoms. We also dive into her thoughts on going through life milestones during a pandemic and unprecedented times, which include her 21st birthday and graduating college! If you're interested in hearing about how she dealt with what life threw at her, or if you simply just are curious to know about her experiences with mental health medication, then grab a glass and chat with us!

Disclaimer: We are not medical professionals, just simply stating our experiences. Please consult with your doctor or psychiatrist first if you believe you are experiencing mental health symptoms and are thinking of trying medication for it.

For the first time in The Chatty Fox history we have a guest on the show! And not just any guest... but a collaboration with the one and only Marielle Vizcarra, host of the podcast That Show F*cked Me Up!. Marielle is a very great friend of mine, and we were roommates in college ("and they were roommates..."). In this episode, we catch up while having a glass of wine, reminisce about our college experience as early 20 somethings, and chat about how our lives are different now as late 20 somethings. We laugh and have a great time so honestly this episode is a fun one. I hope you laugh along with us!

I LOVE to travel, so I just wanted to talk about it haha. This week I am chatting about why I love to travel, why I think it's essential to travel in your twenties if you can, and I give some tips to travel on a budget (because we are all struggling out here am I right, ladies?). I also briefly talk about my 3 major international travels that I believe shaped who I am as a person, and contributed to my passion for public health. I understand that traveling is not easily possible for everyone, and not all 20 somethings can just get up and go, but honestly even weekend getaways are great for your mental health so I still recommend listening! This week's wine lesson is on food and wine pairings! I got so excited and gave my personal recommendations incase you want to impress your partner on your next date wink

Topic starts at ~19:00

Wine of the Week: "Chateau Buisson-Redon" Bordeaux

Happy Wine Wednesday! Hope you have a glass ready because today's episode is a REAL deal issue that I struggle with and I'm sure many others do. Let's chat: imposter syndrome. I chat about my personal experiences with imposter syndrome, how I realized we can overcome it, and I talk about a TRUE imposter who literally jeopardized the health of the public! This week's wine lesson is on 9 types of wine so you can be more informed on the differences between each type of wine, my recommendations for each type, and get an idea of which ones you might be more intrigued by. There's a lot to unpack here so feel free to skip the wine lesson until about 25 minutes in and get straight into the topic but... why would you? Lol let's just drink and chat today!

This week I wanted to give a more personal storytime type of episode, where I chat about my wine experience in Seattle. I talk about wine bars and servers I interacted with, and boy... I was definitely NOT prepared for what I experienced. I went to different wineries and even a high end restaurant that is worth 4 $ signs on Yelp. FOUR $ signs! Anyways, I had an encounter with an actual snobby sommelier... so that was interesting. Hope you liked this week's casual episode and don't worry I don't give any unsolicited advice here, this is just a fun update episode while I prepare for my next topic episode that is VERY relatable and VERY deep.  Wine Pairing: "Adulting" Sparkling Rose  Sources: https://www.commongrape.com/post/restaurant-wine-etiqu , https://www.winemag.com/2002/03/01/restaurant-wine-etiquette/  Theme music by: Kevin MacLeod Great Jazz selections from Kevin MacLeod's royalty-free Creative Commons licensed website http://incompetech.com.

How would you describe your early 20s? Well mine were so eventful.. I would probably write a whole book. In this week's episode, I dive into what my early 20s were like, what I learned and what I would do differently. I also touch on Dr Meg Jay's TedTalk on why your 20s are so defining, and even include listener submissions on how they would describe their 20s in one word.
