Do you struggle to know what matters and what doesn't?
Are you trying to be someone else where it is clearly not working?
Have you found it hard to find gifts in hardships?
For the fourth episode of this season, we were joined by therapist, poet and podcaster, Jacky Power, to learn more about her passions.
One of the many things you will learn about Jacky through this conversation is her desire to unlock the human experience through what she does. Whether that be through her work as a therapist, poet or podcast host, it’s clear that she is on this mission to help others not feel alone. However, what stood out from this episode was understanding what matters and what doesn't. That is a clear cost to our passions that we don't want to express, but it was demonstrated when chatting to Jacky and how this is a constant feeling with what she does. Yet, with her podcast 'The Therapeutic Poet' being nominated for the Moment of Touching Honesty category at the International Women’s Podcast Awards and also performing at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, clearly, a lot of what Jacky does, matters.

Do you struggle to find stillness during your busy life pursuing your passion? Are you unsure when things come to their completion point? Have you struggled to detach from things that no longer serve you?
In the third episode of this season, we were joined by mindfulness expert Neil Seligman to discuss his many passions, including mindfulness, unfolding human potential and the pursuit of excellence.
Neil had a fascinating upbringing with a variety of different experiences. If that was due to his dad being a pilot, his mum being a stewardess or going to summer camp as a general counsellor in the United States; he is an individual with a diverse amount of experience. He was at some stage destined to remain within the barrister profession, yet it came to him that it was not what he was supposed to be doing. As he said in the conversation, it was as if his potential or what he was supposed to be doing was in another field. That field was mindfulness and ultimately helping individuals and business unfold their potential and pursue excellence. Even though he did not feel it was a decision to change from lawyer to mindfulness expert, it seems that whatever change it was, it has benefited tremendously for Neil. Since then, he has set up 'The Conscious Professional' and become a well-known international speaker with many keynote speeches worldwide.

Do you struggle to accept your perfectionist mindset?
How would you describe a life well lived for your passion?
In the second episode of season six of In Pursuit of Passion, we invited Dan Clines to speak about his passion for craftsmanship. What was fascinating about Dan was that his passion came from the fact that he needed to buy furniture for a new house that he and his wife were moving into. From that point of Dan buying furniture to now, the craftsman has been pursuing a passion he sees doing for the rest of his life. Dan is someone with a perfectionist mindset and has found a way to balance that in a way that has benefited him and his craftsmanship business. Despite being scared of putting himself out there, if that is through social media and competitions, he has benefited tremendously from doing such a thing.

Have you struggled to take on your trauma? Are you the type of person who has judged yourself through adversity? Have there been times when you struggled to get unstuck from a situation?
Back with another season of this great podcast, we had the chance to interview Brooklin Bowdler about her passion for content creation.
When you explore where Brooklin comes from and her upbringing, you would assume she had it all. A dad who started the Rockwall and living in the United States creates a picturesque lifestyle in your head. Yet, it was the total opposite of that. Brooklin has gone through a traumatic experience of sexual trauma and told her story so openly in this episode. Her motivation behind telling her story is so that no one else will feel alone as she did when going through such a traumatic experience. She is now on a mission through content creation to share her experience and inspire others to walk through their trauma and walk to the other side of these experiences. With her book All in Your Head coming out soon, Brooklin is a person worth keeping an eye on as she pursues her passion.

Have you interrupted your purpose, and you do not know how to gain it back? Do you struggle to reframe the stories that you have told yourself? Are you someone who feels like they need to overcome everything?
In the fifth episode of this great season of In Pursuit of Passion, we were joined by comedian, disability advocate and writer Nina G.
Her dream of becoming a comedian almost didn't happen. During her early years, she often saw her stutter as a barrier to getting into what she truly loved and how she often felt shame about this and her other learning disabilities. She faced adversity, and the signs of her learning disabilities were just the tip of the iceberg. Under this iceberg, thoughts of self-doubt, imposter syndrome and all sorts of negative and set beliefs existed. Yet, when Nina attended a conference for people who stutter, she realised that she could become the person she wanted to be, which was a stand-up comic. Since that conference, she has sold-out shows, written many books and learnt so many things on her pursuit of her passion. From this conversation, it was clear that we learnt so much from Nina, such as reframing the stories we tell ourselves, not interrupting our purpose and not having to overcome everything.

For the fourth episode of this great podcast, we were joined by online cooking sensation Jon Watts to speak about his passion for cooking.
Jon didn't have the best of starts where he didn't know what to do in his early years. This feeling of being lost directed him down the wrong path, where he ended up in prison at 18. Yet, his time in prison was when he discovered his passion for cooking, all thanks to the Duke of Edinburgh award. Jon's tenacity was born thanks to this special award, leading to him working with Jamie Oliver. He worked in the kitchens for several years but has decided to take his passion to the next level. Jon decided to go alone by opening a food truck, has gotten big on social media, and has appeared on ITV's This Morning. Are you someone who doesn't back yourself all the way? Have you struggled to celebrate the small wins while pursuing your passion? Is life the best form of education?
For the second episode of season five, we explored these questions with the founder of Boys Get Sad Too, Kyle Stanger.
It is safe to say that Kyle has had a pretty unconventional journey into what he does now. Growing up as an actor, to having his entrepreneurial and creative instincts limited at school was a crazy start to pursuing his passion. Yet, what will surprise you is how he backed himself through the ups and downs. Are you someone who lacks confidence and tries to find confidence outside of yourself? Have you aligned yourself with what you think, say and do? Have you felt you've had any failures while pursuing your passion that you don't know how to learn from?
In the first episode of a new season of this great podcast, we dived into these questions with Sam Moinet, founder of Student Breakthrough, who has a passion for education.
Sam has gone through a somewhat unconventional journey into his passion. He encountered failure early on in his path by not getting into the British Army, which was a devastating blow to his ambitions, well-being and confidence. Yet, failure can direct us towards a new path that is fulfilling, advantageous and enlightening. That is what occurred to Sam, whereby after a few coaching sessions with an experienced coach, he realised what he was supposed to do. Through his 3B programme, which we looked into during the episode, to his public speaking, he is on a mission to inspire students to achieve greatness in every corner of their lives.
In this episode, we explored a wide range of topics, including seeing failure as a blessing, vulnerability and the purpose behind Student Breakthrough.

As a comedian and self-improvement podcast host, Dayna has gone through life’s imperfections. Whether that is failure, dealing with imperfections or societal beliefs, this comedian has gone through all that life can throw at us. Yet, she has laughed through such flaws and has claimed the title of the 'participation trophy wife'. Rather than seeking perfection, it is all about trying our best and doing the best we can regardless of what is thrown our way. There were many great lessons from this episode, like accepting the misalignments in life, finding solutions out of misery and having excitement around growth. Not just that, but Dayna touched on how she got into comedy, how she has embraced failure and the lessons she has learnt while pursuing her passion.

However, Michael isn't any old beach football player and has lots of wisdom to share with others who have a similar or completely different passion to him. For the second episode of the season, we were joined by CFO, Founder & Co-Host of Next Level University, Kevin Palmieri, to speak about his passion for personal development. For Kevin, he found his passion at his lowest, whereby even though from the outside he had the so-called “perfect life”, he didn't feel fulfilled. This is despite having, in his words, a beautiful girlfriend, a high paying job, a sports car, and his dream body. There were times during his life that he contemplated life and experienced anxiety and depression, but in spite of all of these crippling lows, he came out of the other side. By going through such challenges, he found personal development, met Alan Lazaros, his podcast partner and learnt so many things about his passion, if that is through podcasting or other outlets. In this episode, Hamish spoke to Kevin about what truly makes us happy, what attracted to Kevin to his passion and setting boundaries.

Season four of In Pursuit of Passion is back for another season after a short break!
For the first episode of the season, we were joined by a body language consultant and founder of Simply Body Talk and CueKids, Khyati Bhatt. From working with elite forces in the Indian military, to international companies like Google, Khyati has coached many people and companies. But how did her passion start, what drew her towards her passion and how does she embrace the responsibility of being a founder of an international company? Hamish wanted to find answers to these kinds of questions when sitting down with Khyati. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, it seemed that she had the toolkit to start a business. Not just that, but she had the people around her to thrive, like Joe Navarro, a world-leading expert on body language and Paul Ekman, an American psychologist. In this episode, Hamish dived deeper into the early beginnings of Khyati’s passion, how she founded Simply Body Talk and how she responds to those deemed 'uncoachable'.

Since leaving this school of arts, she has taken the industry by storm, where she became assistant Editor-in-Chief of Ms. in the Biz, an online resource community for women in entertainment, and co-founded New Girl Pictures. As a freelance illustrator and comic book artist, Fiona has always had that creative edge throughout her life. The In Pursuit of Passion podcast was honoured by the phenomenal poet and author of Strawberries Under Skin Niharika Shah. Niharika grew up in a country that didn't focus much on creative talents, fortunately, this didn’t sway her away from her pursuit of poetry.
Her support network of friends and family helped her tremendously during her journey and is why those around us can really help define who we are and how we are during our own journey’s. Niharika has massive goals in becoming one of the leading authors in her country and being creating change using love as her starting point. She is a perfect example of why vulnerability isn’t something to be afraid of but how it should be embraced. We also spoke to Niharika about how moving to different cities influenced her journey, dealing with imposter syndrome and what she has learnt the most during her journey so far.

This week we had the pleasure of being joined by the author, business owner and professional footballer Ira Jackson Jr, to discuss how he pursues his many passions. . Ira told us that he doesn’t like being put into a box and the thing most important to him is his freedom to wear many hats.
His upbringing and those he surrounds himself with started his journey towards his passion in so many ways, from writing poetry at a young age to now passing that knowledge onto the next generation. . Ira touches on how his faith has influenced his journey, the importance of celebrating the little victories and why your character is more important than being naturally gifted. We also spoke about how any achievement no matter how big or small is an accomplishment and why a person’s character is way more important than someone’s gift.

For the first-ever episode of the In Pursuit of Passion podcast, we had the great pleasure of being joined by the tremendous and thought-provoking Gareth Shanthikumar. In this candid, raw and eye-opening conversation the co-founder of Man Up, president of the Om Shanti Foundation and aspiring personal trainer explored the roots of his passion for enabling others.
In 2017, despite things from the outside looking normal, Gareth faced challenges that changed his outlook on life completely. That year made him start a unique and inspiring journey towards his passion, and since then, Gareth has gone from strength to strength. He has learnt a lot during his pursuit of his passion, like believing that the best things in life often come from outside of our comfort zones, that being our own best friend is vital, and being compassionate in what we do is crucial to inspire and transform those we want to impact.
