Being a pastor is a lonely business. People in our churches don’t really know what is going on behind the curtain. I know, I lived it too. Confessions of a Pastor is a place for us to be open, honest and transparent about what it means to be a pastor today. Through my own experiences, reflections, interviews with others, resources and more, I hope that you and I both can find a place where we can let our guard down and just be us. I am not a perfect leader and this is not another “leadership podcast''. It's a support group for hurting, wounded and broken.
In this week's episode, I wanted to take some time to talk about my heart for this podcast. I give a little bit of my story, why I wanted to do this and what to expect from it.

In this week's episode, I wanted to share something that I believe that God has really put on my heart. Darkness is the absence of light, and if we are the Light of the World, then could it be that some of the things that we see happening is because the light of the World isn’t shining?

Over the decades, discipleship has become "something" we do but isn't it supposed to be "the" things we do. Are we actually disciplining anyone? In the episode we talk about what discipleship looks like in a lot of churches, then we take a look at Jesus to see if we can learn something. Can we recapture the ancient art of discipleship or will we continue to make more "attenders?"
