Welcome to episode 125 of the Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast, brought to you by Steering Wheel Nation.
This is a "classic" episode of The Groove Show, as host Tom Baker takes us back 50 years to relive the 1973 International Classic 200 at the famed Oswego Speedway. Beginning the show with some fun facts from that year, Tom sets a humorous tone for the rest of the episode, using the 1974 Classic Program to recap Kenny Andrews' somewhat controversial '73 win, after brushing wheels with the Immortal "Little Deuce" of Jimmy Winks in a pass for the win. Then, he reads one of the funniest "Iver The Driver" columns ever written - taking us through a "dream" Iver had that it was the year 2024, the Classic was 68 years old and we'll let you listen to hear the rest - we don't want to spoil it for you! This episode's What's In A Number segment discusses the number 26, and Tom finishes with an update on Dave Shullick Jr's status for this year's Classic and another little bit of news.

Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast - Episode 123: Winnerviews with Camden Proud and Tony DeStevens
Welcome to episode 123 of the Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast, brought to you by Steering Wheel Nation. Show host Tom Baker is joined by Josh Sokolic, whose supermodified debut at the Oswego Speedway last weekend almost overshadowed Mike Ordway's win in the ISMA/MSS Challenge Series race, and two-time 2023 Oswego winner Mike Bruce.
Sokolic talks about the last minute call to jump into the Soule Racing 32 supermodified for the race, which was postponed from Saturday to Sunday by rain, and how the game plan changed as raceday morning unfolded. He also updates us on the progress of solving the mechanical gremlin that climbed into his own 350 super over the weekend.
Bruce joined the show to recount his two wins on the season, shared some insightful perspective on the announcement that the winner's share of the upcoming 67th Annual Budweiser International Classic had gone from $15,000 to $20,000, and talks about the array of race cars currently in his shop and what his plans are for them in the future.

Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast - Episode 122: Winnerviews with Camden Proud and Tony DeStevens
Welcome to episode 122 of the Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast, brought to you by Steering Wheel Nation. In our second straight extra-distance episode, our host Tom Baker is joined by two first-time winners at the Oswego Speedway - SBS racer Tony DeStevens and Supermodified racer Camden Proud.
Proud not only dishes about winning the supermodified feature on his first night out this year after several months of health challenges with his father, Tim Proud, who got his first Oswego win in the SBS class last season, he also joins Tom for a lively recap of last weekend's races and a look ahead to the rest of the year.
DeStevens win in the SBS class was made even more special by the fact that just two weeks ago he suffered a hard crash into the infamous Oswego steel wall and his older brother Joey literally slept in the garage making repairs in six nights to get the car ready to race again.
This week's "What's in a number?" segment features the No. 22, with Tom making the save of his life at the end preventing another "Jack Patrick Moment" like he had when he was recalling drivers of the No. 90.

Welcome to episode 121 of the Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast, brought to you by Steering Wheel Nation. In this extra-distance episode, our host Tom Baker is joined by two of the most recent winners at the Oswego Speedway - SBS Winner Andrew Schartner and 350 Supermodified winner Josh Sokolic.
In his own words, Andrew Schartner held off Noah Ratcliffe in one of the most exciting races in recent Oswego Speedway history on Saturday to get his first win in six years in the SBS division. No longer a full-time racer, Andrew flies up from Charlotte, N.C. as often as he can to compete at Central New York's renown 5/8-mile asphalt track. He and Tom talk about the win and reflect on a career that had Andrew at 17 years of age on the Board of Directors of a racing club before moving from dirt to pavement to begin an impressive run that continues to this day at Oswego.
Josh Sokolic has won twice so far in the 350 Supermodified division this year at "The Big O". He moved up last year from the SBS class to the faster, more nimble 350 Supers and talks about how that move has opened up his driving style and taught him to be more aggressive. He surprises Tom with the answer to the question of what he would change in the 350 division if he could, and the differences in what is required from a driver to succeed in SBS and 350.
This week's "What's in a number?" segment features the No. 21, opening with some discussion about the wife of a No. 21 co-owner performing for the crowd on Classic Weekend in the mid-70's.

April 26, 2022 - Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast #94 -- Warren and Ryan Coniam Encore
Canadian supermodified racer Warren Coniam won two Oswego Speedway International Classics and two track championships in about 20 years of competition on the famous fast 5/8-mile oval. His son Ryan followed in his racing footsteps and has had a successful career on and off the track that took him to NASCAR and onto the dirt tracks in a sprint car as well as competition in the supermodifieds. We hear full length interviews from both in this episode in a special encore presentation.
