We are Revolution Radio, a national independent media network created to foster art and activism. We are anti-capitalist, and not accept corporate money. All of our funding comes from audience contributions so that our message is never compromised. We believe that social change starts with individuals, so Revolution Radio exists to bring you stories and information from the grassroots. Unfortunately, mainstream media is rife with corruption. Therefore, it is up to independent media to bring the people legitimate and relevant information. That’s where we come in.
Both Daryle and Beth were there when Heather Heyer was killed and the nation took notice of white supremacy marching with torches. Our IDAVOX podcasters remember preparing for the worst and seeing it. Daryle was thrust into a spotlight as the focus of a documentary "Alt-Right Age of Rage" wich showed the lead up and the violence that day.

Thank you for tuning into Revolution Radio. We have a great guest to end the year with. Today, lets go around the world with Margaret Kimberly from The Black Agenda Report. Margaret talks about her a good friend, her Comrade, Glenn Ford's new book, "The Black Agenda." But also we talk about China, Nicaragua. A little bit of Cuba gets thrown in there. Margaret is a great voice for the left. I know that her audience with The Black Agenda Report, of course, is the Black Left, but it doesn't matter who you are listening to. Her reading The Black Agenda Report. It's some of the best reporting on the planet. So I've always appreciated when Margaret on she's on Revolution Radio a few times a year, and I always look forward to it because it's having a friend on to talk a little bit about politics and what's going on in our world. And it's somebody whom I know I respect greatly and I know many, many people around the world respect she visited Nicaragua recently. I wanted to also take a few minutes before we get into Margaret Kimberly to thank our editorial board and everybody who supported Revolution Radio over 2021.
It was a transformative year for the company. We went from being New Jersey based Revolution Radio. New Jersey Revolution Radio is what we started out as to Revolution Radio. We took on the IDAVOX Report and did over 30 episodes with Daryl Lamont Jenkins. We reported on numerous events and stories, starting with January 6, when we went live during the Capital riots with Lark Lo and talked about what was going on as it was going on. And you can see that back on our Facebook page. We went live on all our streams, so it started off with a bang and 2021 is closing out as a year of a lot of lessons and a lot of learning and a lot of growth. So thanks to everybody who's been a part of that for 2021, I wish all of you and your family and your loved ones, whoever's around you a very happy and healthy New Year. I hope you enjoy holidays if you're celebrating them and I can't wait to see you again next year. We'll be back usually take a few weeks off for the holidays, so we probably won't be back until later in January. But we will be back. We will have new content.
We will have new features as we continue to grow this grassroots independent media company. I'm very happy with where we're at as a company, but you always want to be bigger and better.
We could always use more views, more shares, more likes, more follows. And that's where you our audience comes in at so please, before we get into this phenomenal interview and close out our year, take a few minutes and share us out on your social medias. Welcome to the #Idavox Report!
This week, on the Idavox Report, we are going to be hosting two of our favorite guests, Rod Webber and Lauren Pespisa. Rod and Lauren are a movie-making married duo and their latest work is about to premiere!
2020: The Dumpster Fire will be in theatres December 7. In the film, Rod travels the country and examines the civil unrest that unfolded throughout the year, specifically during the 2020 election. Rod’s new song, “Joe Biden Wrote The Patriot Act”, is featured in the movie.
2020: The Dumpster Fire
In 2020: The Dumpster Fire, Rod visits protests in Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, New York, and DC. The movie will be on Apple TV on December 15. It stars Vermin Supreme, a political figure and performance artist that Rod has known personally for years. Daryle is in the first scene of the second half of the movie, kicking off the “protest segment,” as Rod puts it. The film also continuously covers Rod’s lawsuit against Donald Trump in which he ended up winning a settlement. 2020: The Dumpster Fire was co-produced by Rod and Lauren.
Most of the major American 2020 Electoral candidates are featured in the film. Rod recalls his rule of thumb when confronting political figures: to respect those who show him respect. On the other hand, if the person he’s talking to doesn’t take him seriously, Rod gets very cheeky. If you want to know more about what that means, check out the movie.
Rod Webber and Lauren Pespisa
Rod and Lauren get into lots of trouble while working in media and in their spare time, trolling politicians with performance art and generally raising hell. Lauren is currently the target of a (so far) 10-month long secret investigation involving her role in 2020: The Dumpster Fire. Lauren and Rod are facing a grand jury tomorrow, but they were not even invited because that is apparently how secret investigations work. Rod reports that there have been at least 5 grand juries so far and their door has been knocked on numerous times by federal agents.
Although their tongues are relatively tied on the topic for legal reasons, Rod notes that this investigation is something that activists and filmmakers alike should be concerned about. He suspects that the motive for this case being brought upon his wife is his lawsuit against Donald Trump. Investigators for cases like this have been known to raid houses at gunpoint, even those with children in them. Rod apologizes again for being vague by necessity.

An influx of people have been sending in letters of support to try to keep Lauren out of jail. Many of these folks came to know Lauren through her dedicated work in mutual aid during the pandemic. You can find a petition regarding the bullshit case against Lauren here.
Daryle has seen 2020: The Dumpster Fire and he recommends it. Again, the film will be in theatres on December 7th and on Apple TV on December 15.

The #Idavox Report Welcomes Ash J!
Looks like another worm for the Big Apple. This week, on the #Idavox Report, we’re going to be talking about New York City mayor-elect Eric Adams! Daryle Lamont Jenkins is breaking it all down with Brian Powers, Christian Perez and special guest Ash J.
Ash J. is a multimedia journalist who specializes in topics relevant to this week’s discussion. For example, Ash writes professionally about police issues, whereas Eric Adams is a former police captain. Ash regularly covers such complex issues as state violence and oppression, radical political movements, and anti-fascism in his pieces for The Santiago Times, The Appeal, Truthout, and many other outlets. Ash and Daryle are well acquainted through their mutual work in antifascist movements, having been to several protests and activist events together.
New York City Mayor Elect Eric Adams
In the most recent election, blue states suffered a lot of losses across the country. However, in New York City, Democrat Eric Adams won. But for someone who identifies as a Democrat, is Adams even actually on the left at all? Adams served as police captain for years before his campaign. He masqueraded, then and now, as a man trying to improve the police system from the inside. Adams capitalized on the #DefundThePolice movement, embracing the narrative that people of color are violent and require police to control them.
The Real Eric Adams
The true identity of Eric Adams is an ex-cop opportunist who seeks out what he can do to advance himself at the moment. He is a landlord who leeches money from tenants. He takes money from big-name donors. Yet he is consistently heralded as a hero in the media. Daryle points out that he is unsurprised that the New York Post is portraying Adams positively, adding the article to a 30-year-old pile of New York Post BS. Adams has also been endorsed by what Ash J calls the “most corrupt scumbags in New York City politics.”
Adams belongs to the Manhattan Institute, which is the organization that is pushing the anti-CRT movement and open windows policing. Eric Adams is a supporter of stop-and-frisk. He claims that he simply wants to reform the policy, not abolish it. Daryle predicts that someone will be murdered by a cop in New York City under Adams’ mayorship, and he will act like he had done everything he could to prevent it.
American Misjustice System
The panel’s conversation shifts to a discussion of the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse. Daryle doubts that this killer will be found guilty of significant charges. Daryle was in fact surprised when Derek Chauvin was found guilty earlier this year. Brian notes that Kyle Rittenhouse has no shot at a normal life whether he is found innocent or guilty. Christian asserts that things would be much different in this trial if the defendant wasn’t white.

Racists beware!
This week, on the Idavox Report, we are going to be talking about The Baldies. The Baldies are an antiracist skinhead group out of Minneapolis that formed in the 1980s. They created today’s Anti Racist Action Network (ARA) as well as laying the groundwork for the modern North American antifascist movement. Last Monday, the documentary The Baldies premiered on PBS. The documentary tells the story of a brave group of skinheads that started as a street team and grew into a powerful antiracist and antifascist network.
Daryle Lamont Jenkins, Brian Powers, and Christian Perez are all here tonight, talking to a special guest who was a main player in the documentary. Our guest tonight is a Baldie named Portland Tom. Tom has been in the streets for longer than Daryle has, beginning his involvement in the antifascist scene in the late 1980s.
The Baldies
Although the Baldies are based out of Minneapolis, they have a chapter in Portland. Tom was one of the first members of this chapter. Tom remembers Nazis growing on trees in his community and wanting to extinguish this hate directly.
Although the Baldies did important work fighting Nazis, not everyone appreciated them as they should. A majority of the general public misunderstood the Baldies, regarding them with fear. The police saw the Baldies as a gang, equating them to Nazis because of their use of violence. Tom remembers the police being confrontational and contentious towards him for as long as he can remember being a Baldie.
The Baldie Scene
Tom describes enjoying a vibrant music scene during his young adult life in Oregon. He and other Baldies used to show up to punk concerts and fight any Nazis they could find until the concert was a slime-free zone. The Portland Baldies were known to go out and look for Nazis and fascists to bust. They would show up at so called “white power music shows” and break everything up. Baldies doxxed the members of hate groups so hard that they had trouble getting jobs or even apartments. Eventually, directly due to The Baldies’ resistance, a good handful of Portland’s white supremacy groups fell apart.
Tom was drawn into the skinhead scene because of the brotherhood aspect. He also really hates Nazis, but he describes this as a “no-brainer.” For Tom, defending the local community against hate was a moral imperative.
The Baldies Documentary
Tom reports positive reception for the documentary. So far he has heard from one school that it is going to be played in the classroom. The only complaint that he’s gotten from people was that the documentary could have been much longer, perhaps even adapted into a miniseries.
There’s a lot to be learned from this documentary. There aren’t many documentaries about antiracist skinheads. Did you miss it? Although The Baldies premiered on PBS on Monday, October 18, 2021, you can still find it on the PBS website here.

Welcome to the Idavox Report!
The show opens with a panel of four activists: Daryle Lamont Jenkins, Christian Perez, and Margaret Kimberley. Kimberley is this week’s #Idavox Report special guest. She is also the Executive Editor and Senior Columnist at Black Agenda Report. Her Freedom Rider column appears weekly in BAR, and is republished widely elsewhere. She is the author of Prejudential: Black America and the Presidents. She is involved in several activist organizations.
The Black Agenda Report
The Black Agenda Report is a one-of-a-kind internet-based news source that is committed to providing news and analysis from a black left perspective. It was founded 15 years ago by Bruce Dixon, Glen Ford, and Margaret Kimberley herself.
We begin by discussing Glen Ford, who lost his life to cancer earlier this year. Ford was a great writer and activist who was dedicated to the struggles of Black people around the world. He was a socialist who was heavily involved in his activism, being involved in a handful of leftist organizations. Daryle got to know Ford while working with the People’s Organization for Progress. It was Ford who encouraged Margaret as she entered the world of journalism.
Lies In The Media
Margaret recalls Al Gore’s run for Presidency and describes how this event is a large part of what radicalized her. The blatantly stolen election made her realize that there were a lot of things in the world that didn’t add up. History books and the news don’t give an accurate picture of global events, but people just go along with them anyway.
Mainstream media outlets are now corporate, capitalist monopolies. In the past, Twitter and Facebook have censored true stories from the public’s sight so that they could not be posted on their platforms. Margaret believes that these mainstream outlets should be regulated for utility. In contrast to media moguls, the internet serves as a decentralization of information. The Black Agenda Report uses the internet as a means to further activism by spreading legitimate information.

Hi, everybody, thanks for tuning in to a Revolution Radio Special Report. You can hear the Cuban music going on in the background. And that is because in just a moment, I'm going to be interviewing the Cuban Revolution podcaster and historian, Nick Ramos, Nick joined me, with Christian Perez, my co host, and we did a great interview, I loved it.

And the reason for that is, our internet connection up here has been doing very, very poorly. And I tell you what, I did kind of miss it. Honestly, I love being with an audience and seeing the comments and we bring those comments into the programming and I feel that it adds something but the truth is the lag has been killing us. And I wasn't really able to participate in the last few live streams. So rather than struggle through a live stream, the quite honestly would be distracting. We are recording our revolution radio, special reports, editing that junk out of it and bringing to you, honestly, what's just a better product and a better podcast.
I told you all that to tell you this, there are solutions to these problems. There is technology out there there ways of boosting our cell phone signals and getting a good internet connection here to revolution radio studios, but we need your support, it costs money, and it takes a little bit engineering, I'm willing to do the work and put the elbow grease in. And that to me has has helped round you know, my own personal politics around my view of both Castro and the Cuban Revolution. The Adventures of DLJ
On last week’s show, Daryle discussed the Justice for J6 “rally.” A few days later, there were local events going on across the country in favor of the insurrectionists. They were generally poorly attended. Over the weekend, Daryle went to Trenton to oppose their local J6 rally. There were apparently around 15 protestors in attendance.
At the event, Daryle confidently called out the presence of Proud Boys on a poster that was accompanying a speech being made: “let’s talk about embarrassing.” The encounter develops into an argument, and Daryle ends up defending the fact that he is wearing a mask.

The #Idavox Report Is Back With An Update On "Justice For J6!"
Renowned activist Daryle Lamont Jenkins returns, joined by Brian Powers and Christian Perez, after a summer hiatus. These three revolutionaries are ready to fight the conspiracy theories, listen to some good music, and smash the fash! This week, Daryle is going to be filling us in on what he observed at the Justice for J6 rally in our nation's capital.
Daryle tells us that the event was supposed to be a Free The Insurrectionist rally. For the past few months, a pack of goons has been traveling to major cities, such as New York City and D.C, trying to call for the release of those arrested on January 6th in our nation’s capital. In the end, the rally was far less well attended than the organizers had hoped. Originally, they had estimated about 700 attendees. Daryle reports that he believes he saw more cameramen than he did actual protesters.
Jared Taylor and The AMREN Conference Need To Be Stopped
At the “rally,” Daryle unexpectedly ran into some rather despicable company. He cues up a video in which he confronts Jared Taylor, white supremacist and author of the American Rennaissance Newsletter. Taylor holds a conference every year in Tennessee where neo fascists, especially young ones, get the opportunity to network and collude. In the video, Jared Taylor evades and denies questions posed by a playfully confident Daryle.

Joe or Schmoe August 2021 Edition
Host Brian Powers begins by welcoming comrade and co-host Christian Perez to the stream. Christian is a staple in one of our favorite segments, Joe or Schmoe! We are now 8 months into 2020. What do we have to show for it?
One of Mr. Biden’s most recent moves was to extend the COVID-19 eviction moratorium until October. Although this is ostensibly a good move, it fails to address the root cause of homelessness and mass evictions in this country. Overall, the action amounts to a distraction. Christian reiterates that Biden is a low-energy president who refuses to take large-scale action to improve the lives of everyday Americans.
Another disappointment from Joe the Schmoe as of late is his decision to approve the deployment of bombs in Somalia. Biden has added yet another country to the list of those he’s terrorized. His behavior is directly leading to loss of human life and taking us down a path of global strife. Overall, our second Joe or Schmoe concludes in a firm judgment of Schmoe.

Afrika
Afrika is here with us tonight from Newark, New Jersey. Afrika has been practicing activism in the streets, monitoring police activity by recording video. Brain cues several of these videos, in which we can see police without bodycams, police without uniform, police assaulting civilians on the street, and more disturbing content. “The police are whooping ass in our community,” laments Afrika.
Undercover Cops
Why is it that the police need patrolling? Community members should feel protected by cops, not that they need to protect themselves against them. And, significantly, at what point does a traffic stop become harassment? One of the videos that Afrika showed depicted a lineup of cops lying strategically in wait to stop people in the street for minor traffic infractions. Afrika reports that local courtrooms in majority-white towns are filled with 70-80% ethnic minorities. Where is the line between appropriate law enforcement and abuse of power? Let's see what Bennet Zurofsky, Esq. thinks as he joins us tonight.
Bennet Zurofsky, Esq.
Bennet Zurofsky is an attorney who practiced in Newark, New Jersey for many years defending activists and unions in court. He says that some of the work that is done by police at traffic stops is indeed appropriate. The question is whether the cops are being deployed for proper or improper purposes. Bennet concedes that some of these stops likely are perfectly legitimate and lawful examples of law enforcement. However, he also agrees that there are police officers who try to stretch the law too far. An example of an improper purpose, according to Bennet, would be trying to raise money for the town by collecting as much money as they can using things such as ticket quotas.
Police have a stark advantage in court when the only evidence is word-of-mouth testimony. That is a huge part of why body cams, and the type of work that Afrika is doing, are so important. As a lawyer, Bennet says that it is less likely for law professionals to take cases where there is not substantial evidence against police. This is because these legal fights are high risk low reward, often raking up hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees for a potential settlement of a few thousand dollars. Welcome again to the #Idavox Report! Daryle Lamont Jenkins begins by acknowledging the 10th anniversary of the Oslo shooting, wherein an anti-Muslim scumbag took many lives. Daryle extends sympathy and compassion to the families of the victims, who have now been missing loved ones for 10 years.
Rod Webber and Lauren Pespisa join us tonight to discuss a recent incident that occurred in New York City. Rod Webber recently gained fame when he got arrested at the Hunter Biden art gallery. He was there in protest, but his protest was not targeting Hunter Biden. In fact, Lauren notes that she and Rod would probably be willing to hang out with him.
Daddy War Crimes
When it comes to Bidens, Rod’s problem is not with Hunter, but with Joe. Rod points out that Joe Biden has had a long history of working with segregationists and klansmen, bombing Middle Eastern countries, and generally furthering the military-industrial complex. He has insidiously hampered journalism by acts of corruption such as keeping journalist Julian Assange in jail. He is deeply corrupt and that corruption is spreading through the world more than ever now that he is president.
Brian cues up a video in which the event from early July at the Hunter Biden art gallery is documented. Rod was assaulted and held down forcefully after having spray-painted the word “DADDY” (originally intended to say “DADDY WAR CRIMES”) on the wall of the gallery. The word was written in erasable hairspray, might we add.
Rod’s Struggle
Rod continues to be restrained, and a few scuffles break out. He cleverly mocks his assailant and calls out Joe Biden in creative ways for approximately nearly 15 golden minutes (the actual live stream lasted an hour and a half) until the police arrive. His assailant tackles him down and then prevents him from accessing emergency medical personnel when they arrive.
Rod is being charged with graffiti, assault, criminal mischief, and one other similar charge. The first two charges are bullshit, absolutely not true, and hopefully won’t stick (like the hairspray!) If one watches the video, one can clearly see that the assault did not come from Rod, but rather from the man restraining him.
Unsurprisingly, news outlets on both the left and right are covering the incident in very unfair ways. Rod is being widely labeled in headlines as a conspiracy theorist and emphasis is being put on his purported crimes instead of on his message. Independent media, such as Revolution Radio, continues to be more trustworthy than mainstream news sources. When it comes to grassroots activism, independent media is crucial to getting the word out.

Billionaires in Space
Our space travel system is shifting into the hands of billionaires who have the sole true purpose of acquiring resources, power, and money for themselves. In modern society, people are so desperate to find real-life heroes that they start idolizing obscenely rich people.
Billionaires have enough money to feed every person on this planet, yet they don’t do it. That fact, among many others, clearly indicates that they are not actually good people. Are these really the people we want expanding human territory into the galaxy?
Give Cuban Socialism a Chance
People in Cuba are frustrated. They want freedom. They need inventory, such as syringes, that could be provided by the United States. We need to lift the embargo, flood the country with goods, and let Cuban socialism have a chance.
Donald Trump was a raging nightmare of a president, but Joe Biden is just the same old song and dance, or perhaps even worse. In fact, even under the Obama administration, we were allowed to enter Cuba. Trump enacted 200 sanctions on Cuba during his four years in power and Biden has reversed none of them. Modern American government blatantly wants Cuban socialism to fail and will stop at implementing no overly restrictive policy while following that agenda.
Haiti in Crisis
The reality of Haiti is that it has hosted a violent political scene for 300 years. The Haitian Revolution was far more of an actual revolution than the American Revolution ever was. If you look at the type of people who were in power before and after both Revolutions, this becomes evident.
Haiti is an example of a country with a small, loose government. Brian advises libertarians to take heed of that fact in conjunction with the current state of affairs in Haiti. Brian also clarifies that this is not intended to be a criticism of everyday Haitian people, but of a government that is not working for its people.

The Patriot Front is a hate group that is based upon ideologies of neofascism, white supremacy, and white nationalism. They recently made news for vandalizing the George Floyd statues and memorial in Brooklyn and Newark. The Patriot Front has recently staged events in this part of the country and have been met with resistance from ANTIFA. The man who founded Patriot Front was recently arrested in Texas. Daryle advises us to be on the lookout for this dangerous group, as it is currently rising in popularity. He spoke out against the Patriot Front on Facebook recently and was consequently banned from posting for 24 hours.
The #Idavox Report Welcomes Gwendolyn Albert!
Long-time human rights activist Gwendolyn Albert joins us from Czech Republic tonight to talk to Daryle Lamont Jenkins and Christian Perez about the systemic oppression experienced by Romani(Roma) people around the world. Gwendolyn is originally from California but has been living in the Czech Republic on and off for 30 years. During this time, she has witnessed as a resident the events that began the transition to democracy in the country, including the fall of the Berlin Wall. She has also witnessed firsthand repeated dehumanization of Romani people.
Content Warning: Violence, Death
The panel begins by taking a look at horrifying video footage from the Czech Republic of a police violence incident where a police officer is assaulting a Romani man. The incident is undeniably reminiscent of George Floyd’s murder. The video is deeply disturbing, depicting a man in obvious suffering, wailing as he is being crushed by a police officer. The officer was crushing him with a knee to the neck long after he stopped resisting. The man’s name was Stanislav Tomáš.
Gwendolyn shares that she is disheartened that such an incident took place even after the world reacted as it did to the George Floyd incident. There were so many parallels between this case and the George Floyd incident, such as the media latching onto the idea that Tomáš may have been on drugs as fact.
Discrimination Against Romani People
The segregation faced by the Romani people in the Czech Republic is profound. They make up only 2-3% of the general population, yet they face a disproportionately high amount of hate and a severe lack of representation in both media and government. Romani people have been emigrating from the Czech Republic to countries like Ireland and Great Britain where they know that they will be treated better.
What will it take for Roma people to be treated with humanity and dignity? A good first step to begin remedying this situation is awareness. In America, we need to pay attention to the struggles of people in other countries, just as they do for us. To start, for example, more people should follow Romani media sources such as http://www.romea.cz/en, which chronicles important aspects of Romani life, struggles, and activism. The Roma people are in need of solidarity. We need to start forming an international coalition against hate. We have to step up here and now and show these oppressors that hate has consequences.

Tonight we begin by welcoming Christian Perez to our panel to update us on the tumultuous situation in Peru, which is facing a decisive election as COVID runs rampant in the country. The wealthy in Peru have a grasp on the media and control what information gets out into the public. Neither candidate is particularly progressive, but the one on the right is a far more dangerous option for the country (sound familiar?)
Shakima Joins Us Out Of Newark
We are joined by Shakima, who lives in Newark, New Jersey. Newark is an area that is plagued by police violence. Shakima wants to find a balanced solution that looks to examine the whole of the circumstances that result in police violence.
Shakima speaks of a city plagued by exploitation and elitism. She acknowledges the increased rates of crime in the city, making it difficult to go about life feeling safe as an innocent civilian. Without denying the reality of police brutality, Shakima shares that she feels that the police are necessary in Newark in order to ensure safety for the community. According to Shakima, people dumping their trash in Newark has also become a serious issue.
Kathy O’Leary of PAX Christi USA
Our main guest tonight is Kathy O’Leary from PAX Christi USA. PAX Christi is an international Catholic peace movement that works from within the church to affect positive change in the world. Kathy lives her very life by the principles of nonviolent Catholicism. PAX Christi came into existence at the very end of World War II as PAX Christi International. They call for the Catholic Church to become an official Peace Church.
Kathy recognizes that, according to the Bible, we are called as Christians to live nonviolent lives. However, she distinguishes peacefulness from passivity. Christians do not need to lie down and roll over. Nonviolence can present through active resistance through personal choices that affect structures of power. She provides examples of disrupting an unjust social order: not paying taxes; not going to work; or boycotting commerce.
Nonviolence in the Catholic Church
Nonviolence is also the high road. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it will reflect positively on you/your organization. People notice when responsible and nonviolent choices are made. Most importantly, you will be able to sleep at night knowing you are a morally sound human being.
Kathy remembers the Bible passage in which Jesus flipped the tables in the temple. This was an example of Jesus reacting to injustice in anger. Kathy also remembers when Jesus reacted to being approached to be arrested by soldiers with swords by saying, “put them away.”
The Power of The Story of Christ
Time has shown us that the winners tend to write history, but the Bible disrupts this trend. The Bible is about the son of an unwed mother married to a day laborer. Yet somehow, pretty much everyone in the world knows who Jesus is. In fact, his is one of the most well-known stories ever. Kathy notes that this speaks to the power of the story of Christ, whether or not one personally believes in the resurrection.

Welcome to the #Idavox Report! This week, we will be celebrating the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth. June 19, also called Juneteenth, is the day in 1865 that it became illegal to own slaves in America. The caveat to this is that it is still sanctioned to use people as slave labor within the prison system. Human trafficking also still exists, although it is illegal.
Juneteenth
Despite its great significance, Juneteenth did not become a well-known holiday until quite recently. Part of the reason for this is a lack of Critical Race Theory in public school curriculum. We got news today that the Senate has unanimously voted to make Juneteenth an official American holiday. The House has to vote on it next, and then President Joe Biden will have to sign it. We hope to be celebrating Juneteenth as an official holiday at this time next year.

Right-Wing Bullshit Check-In
There is a market for grifting within the far right. This market accelerated under Trump’s presidency. People know that they can generate massive income through disingenuous fundraisers. Candidates frequently collect contributions without spending them on official campaign business. Political parties have even been known to create organizations for the sole or primary purpose of collecting donations.
Scott Presler is a gay conservative pro-Trump activist who has been hosting a series of anti-Muslim rallies across the country. Daryle attended one of these meetups which was held in New York and reports that a whole slew of villainous alt-right groups were in attendance. Scott Presler is not here to help. He’s here to hinder. He has been known to enter neighborhoods to do cleanups. However, he doesn’t talk to the communities to assess needs before he comes in and does as he will.
The Right In New Jersey
Darius Mayfield is an associate of Scott Presler who is trying to run for Congress right now as a Trump Republican. He was doing Presler’s bidding at a church in Newark, New Jersey and he brought QAnon dirtbags along with him. The panel predicts that Mayfield has no shot in the election because of how New Jersey’s elections are generally predetermined.
Before we depart for tonight, we want to bring it back to Juneteenth. Even though it’s a wonderful holiday, people still need to be careful. This year, in New Jersey, there is supposedly going to be a white power show on Juneteenth. The location of this event has been rumored to be at a roadhouse in Asbury, however, it is extremely difficult to verify this information.

Hello and welcome! Tonight’s episode features a full house of excellent comrades. First, we bring in Belisha Beacon, who is here to give us our monthly anti-capitalist movie review. Moxie is a teen film starring Amy Poehler. She also directed and produced it. The movie is about a feminist revolution that takes place at a high school. Belisha comments that it has lots of classic teen flick tropes yet also highlights stages of activism.
Brian comments that Amy Poehler’s versatility shone through in her performance. Belisha feels that today’s teens are ahead of the movie, so it felt somewhat contrived. The movie gave Gen Z activism the Hollywood treatment and dumbed down Gen Z as a whole. There are valid criticisms to be made for the film, but overall, Moxie was pretty decent. Brian and Belisha give Moxie 3 out of 5 fists.
Yet Another Newark Police Incident
Next, Brian welcomes Christian Perez and Afrika to the panel to discuss an incident of police violence in Newark that took place on June 1st. During said incident, the Newark police attacked a group of young people who were not doing anything illegal. The kids had white T shirts, fanny packs, and dreads. Apparently, this served as probable cause, because the cops jumped out at them dressed as civilians from unmarked cars. The kids did not know who their assailants were and ran to the defense of one of their brothers who was being beaten by an officer. The incident has since been described as “police being attacked by a mob,” which was disproved by cell phone video evidence.

NJRR Live Welcomes Jessica Berrocal and Dr. Flavio Hickel Jr.!
We now bring back our comrade Jessica Berrocal. Jessica is here to talk about her electoral run in the New Jersey primary. We also welcome once again to #NJRR Dr. Flavio Hickel Jr., who is here to give his commentary on political corruption as a professor of political science. To start, Flavio points out that not as many people vote in primaries as in other types of elections, such as the midterm election. Jessica moved from Jersey City to Fairview about 3 years ago. She spent under $7,000 on her campaign while her opponents spent an average of approximately $50,000.
Jessica noticed that there was no significant political action going on during her time working with food donations in Fairview. She noticed a lack of infrastructure compared to neighboring towns. For example, there are no speed bumps around any public schools in Fairview. She wanted to run in order to have a chance to implement solutions for these issues.
Electioneering
Jessica found that it was near pointless to run for election in New Jersey because the winners are generally predetermined. Flavio cites barriers to voting such as a lack of physical accessibility at voting places. It also takes a lot of mental effort to choose a candidate if you want to look past party lines. It can be easier to just mindlessly vote for the same party over and over. Many people fall into that trap.
Jessica was also harassed by supporters of her incumbent opponent. Police were unhelpful when she attempted to report the incident. Flavio says that Jessica’s experience is, unfortunately, relatively common for any politician who runs against the status quo.
Although she did not win the election, Jessica reports that she has noticed an increase in support following her candidacy. Many people in Fairview were glad to have seen a Brown woman running for candidacy. Jessica reports that several residents have met with her personally and offered her assistance with future projects.

Tonight, our panel features Brian Powers and Christian Perez. We will be taking a look at how Joe Biden has performed so far as President of the United States of America. No politician is perfect, but most politicians fall far below the mark. Joe Biden is coming into a presidency that has been set with one of the lowest bars ever by his fascist orange predecessor. Let’s take a look at the Biden Administration’s first 100 (or so) days in office. Was he a good ol’ Joe or just a Schmoe?
Student Debt
During the electoral fight for the next presidency, progressives were asking for $50,000 in student loan debt forgiveness. The Biden administration campaign came out and said that Biden will “meet them in the middle” and relieve just $10,000. Now, that number has come all the way back down to zero.
Christian Perez comments that a president will do something if they want to do it. The fact that there is still a student debt crisis is a choice by the Biden Administration. Student debt is a distinctly American issue, and that says a lot about how our system is designed to keep people down.
Stimulus Bills
Next we focus on something a bit more positive: the recent stimulus bill. We’ve discussed the various benefits of the 1.9 trillion dollar bill on the show before. This money is going to strengthen countless American institutions for education, childcare, healthcare, and more.
When it comes to the second stimulus check, it is hard to argue with free money. Obviously, the stimulus checks are nice, but they are also a long time coming. It took months of arguing among lawmakers for the bill to finally be passed. Furthermore, we do not know if stimulus checks will continue to come or if they were a twice-only deal.
Housing Crisis
Joe’s administration gave 20 billion dollars to state and local governments to help low income households cover backrent, rent assistance, and utility bills; 50 billion to health aides and localities for the homeless; and 5 billion for emergency housing vouchers for the homeless. This is a good step but it is coming way too late. We have more empty houses than unhoused people in America and it is time to end homelessness for good.

Foreign Relations
Biden dropped the ball when it came to Israel and Palestine. That being said, it was exactly what we expected. Biden has thus far been weak on foreign policy altogether, with one of his most significant moves so far being the bombing of Syrian villages. Biden verbally urged Israel to halt attacks on Palestine, yet the United States continues to give Israel 30 billion dollars per year, more than it gives any other foreign country. His money is not where his mouth is.
Final Score: Joe or Schmoe?
As with most presidencies, the Biden Administration has been a mixed bag. Joe Biden is indeed trying to further some progressive policies. However, he seems to be hoping that we will forget about some things: for example, the promises he made on the campaign trail and the fact that he is funding the Israeli military. Joe Biden may have done a few good things so far as President, but in the end, there’s absolutely no doubt that he’s a Schmoe.

Daryle cues a pre-recorded interview featuring Christian Perez, Beth Foster, and a panel of educators named Ben and Will. Beth is our first repeat guest on the Idavox Report. Beth is the founder of The Foster Woods Folks' School, where Ben and Will teach. She describes the school as a culmination of a lot of different projects into one cohesive organization.
The Foster Woods Folks' School headquarters is built on property, originally Shawnee land, that was bought by Beth’s grandfather. Although The Foster Woods Folks' School has a physical location in Tennessee, it is a global school—most of their events are hosted online. They are a global school, with Beth reporting that only one of the enrolled students is actually from Tennessee.
The Foster Woods Folks' School
The school focuses on education, storytelling, and the arts within an ecosocial justice framework. Beth defines ecosocial justice as a thriving planet that celebrates diversity and makes equity possible through policy. The Foster Woods Folks' School imagines a world where all people can live in safety and dignity with fair and sustainable access to resources. They are antiracists and intersectional feminists who believe that non-human animals also have the right to safe, healthy lives, freedom, and access to resources fitting for their species.
The school features humane education for children and adults. There are four different schools, all with different classes designed for. Some of the courses include vegan cooking classes, People’s History, Social Studies, and English Language Arts. There are also programs such as Storyteller Studio, which is taught by Ben. Students range in age from 6 to 16 and come from all over the world. The school currently has students from four different continents enrolled in classes. Many of the students do not use English as their first language. Diversity is celebrated at The Foster Woods Folks' School.
The Power of Education
Teachers at The Foster Woods Folks' School such as Ben and Will try to center issues of justice and liberation in every lesson they teach. They are aware of how powerful education is. Public schools have warped the narrative of history to fit the oppressors of the world. The story of the hunt will be told from the perspective of the hunter.
As Beth puts it, education is a tool of war. It can be used to crush a culture, or it can be used to liberate. Ben emphasizes how important it is that history is taught from the perspective of the people, from the bottom up. This means teaching about the working class instead of focusing on old dead white men.

The media tends to frame Malcolm X as a raving anti-whiteness lunatic, but the truth is, he was a charismatic man with incredible values. He bravely stood for liberation and fought for truth.
Monthly Movie Review: The White Tiger
Brian welcomes Belisha Beacon, an Editorial Board member and familiar comrade, to the show. Belisha comes onto #NJRR Live every month to do a movie review. The White Tiger is a Netflix exclusive film that was nominated for an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay this year. It is based on the New York Times novel by the same name.
The White Tiger is a satire film with anti-capitalist leanings. It examines the caste system of India through the perspective of a young, impoverished boy who connives and manipulates his way up social ranks. Belisha believes that this main character is meant to serve as a representation of how the prevailing social system in itself is the defining cause of society's collective suffering. Brian and Belisha rank this film relatively highly, agreeing that it is one of the best movies that has been discussed on #NJRR Live so far.

NJRR Live Welcomes Shehnaz Abdeljaber
Our main guest tonight is Shehnaz Abdeljaber. Shehnaz is a Palestinian who has close ties to people living in the country. This past week has been especially harrowing for Palestinians as Israel has been escalating its violence against them. Shehnaz is concerned with how people in the Western world view those who are struggling in the East. The mainstream media portrays Palestinians as monsters and terrorists; less than human. Dehumanization is a step on the path to genocide because in order to erase something, people generally prefer to see it as being lesser or inferior somehow.
Shehnaz has been in touch with family of hers that lives in Palestine. She reports hearing disturbing background noise on phone calls and shares that she cannot imagine how it would be to have to live in an environment like that. It is tragically commonplace now that Palestinians fear for their lives and the lives of their children.
Weapon Testing
In recent attacks by Israel against Gaza, there’s something different about the weaponry they’ve been using.”Some of it is silent before it reaches you,” tells Shehnaz. Palestinians have been saying this for decades: The United States gives Israel new weapons to test on Palestinians. This is not some nutty conspiracy theory. This is something that every human being on Earth should care about.
Enough is Enough
Palestine is a country with inhabitants of mixed race and ethnicity. Palestine has never truly been free. “We’ve always been under somebody’s rule and thumb,” Shehnaz tells us. The creation of Israel involved massacres that have been covered up. A narrative persists that the current Israel was an empty land for a chosen people: this is a lie. The land was not empty. Palestinians lived there and they have been being oppressed for decades. Palestinians are sick and tired of being ignored, being abused, being abandoned by the world. Shehnaz laments that there have been over 70 years of settler colonialism in her family’s country.

Tonight, we open up our panel with Daryle Lamont Jenkins, Brian Powers, Christian Perez, and Will York. Will, an attorney from Tennessee, is our guest tonight. He has been involved with the fight against the American Renaissance Conference for nearly a decade. He’s here on #NJRR Live to give us some information about what we are up against.
Remembering Tragedy
Before we begin our show tonight, we take a moment to remember that it is the 1 year anniversary of George Floyd’s death. Countless Black lives have been lost to police violence In this country’s history. Meanwhile, the guilty officers almost always avoid facing serious legal consequences. Only around 1%, and never more than 2%, of officers who commit murder are arrested and convicted.
Daryle remembers people such as Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Freddie Gray, and Trayvon Martin, whose deaths at the hands of cops made significant news. However, recalls Daryle, there was something different about the George Floyd case. There was clear video evidence. No one could deny the disgusting cruelty they saw on the tape of George Floyd being trampled and suffocated for 9 minutes.
The Start of Change
Will points out that the George Floyd case represents the beginning of an institutionalization of change. For example, fellow police officers actually testified against the murderous George Floyd at trial. This kind of honesty and accountability among police has rarely if ever been seen before in modern America. Christian adds that the murder of George Floyd helped people become aware of the political system and the fact that protesting gets things done.
There is a prevailing myth that the struggle for Civil Rights ended in the 1960s. In truth, Black Americans are still fighting to be seen as equal in America to this day. There are those who would hide that truth in order to make sure Black people stay oppressed. That is the reason we are here today: to make sure the word gets out that oppressed people are indeed still struggling.
American Renaissance Conference
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the American Renaissance (also called the New Century) Foundation “is a self-styled think tank that promotes pseudo-scientific studies and research that purport to show the inferiority of blacks to whites [...] [Their media] regularly feature[s] proponents of eugenics and blatant anti-black racists. The foundation also sponsors American Renaissance conferences every other year where racist ‘intellectuals’ rub shoulders with Klansmen, neo-Nazis and other white supremacists.”
This year, the conference is going to be held in November. Both Daryle and Will have been fighting for years against the existence of the American Renaissance conference. As it stands, Tennessee lawmakers are insisting that local park ordinances take precedence over federal laws about limiting hate speech or gatherings. Tennessee lawmakers as well as American Renaissance staff maintain that they should be legally allowed to host this event. They construct this argument through a perversion of our 1st Amendment rights to freedom of religion, speech, press, and assembly.
A Legal Beacon of Hate
The event has been booked to take place at Montgomery Bell State Park. It has also been held here in the past. For the event, the indoor facilities have also been reserved, or to be more accurate, monopolized: no outsiders are allowed to enter the parts of the park being used by the American Renaissance. Daryle is feeling significantly less under the weather this week; his allergies have cleared up. FOX Soul is a Black news show on the FOX Network featuring many types of programs, including entertainment and even some political content.
Solidarity with Palestine
Before we address tonight’s main topic, Daryle wants to address in short what is happening in the Middle East. Israel is committing atrocities against Palestine and its people including land theft and genocide. Genocide is absolutely reprehensible in any context. There is no excuse for the acts of war being committed against Palestine by Israel.
Although the people of Israel have no doubt experienced hardship, they are still in the wrong to attack Palestine. Meanwhile, the United States funds Israel with money we could have been using for expanded social programs that improve and save lives. Brian will be exploring this topic further in tomorrow’s episode of #NJRR Live.
Turning the Tide
Meanwhile, in America, Republicans are afraid. They’re in survival mode. Their main voters are white people. If you look at Pew Research polls, you will find that white people tend to vote at proportionately less rates compared to minorities than they did twenty years ago. Conservatives see that the tide of the country is turning. In 2008, when we Inaugurated the first Black President into office, America’s growth as a tolerant nation became truly evident. When Republicans lost Georgia last year, they scrambled pathetically to reclaim the state.
Electoral Politics
If society truly is to be improved politically, one of the most significant hurdles that will need to be overcome involves electoral politics. We live in an intentionally designed bourgeois republic. You have to have money if you want to run for office in a practical manner. This is part of the reason we see a preponderance of celebrities in office.
Being an elite gives one a predisposed advantage in electoral politics. American’s electoral system is intentionally designed to be exclusive. Brian comments that, if you’re looking to create true societal change, it is more effective and accessible in most cases to do things at the grassroots. A food donation almost guarantees that some family will get that food on their table. On the other hand, it is possible to squander years of one's life and thousands if not millions of dollars in electoral politics.

Tonight’s topic is one that Daryle predicts might blow a lot of minds: he believes Lincoln may have been a Marxist. Revolution Radio Stands In Solidarity With Palestine
What is happening in the Middle East is beyond horrifying. Israel is dominating and oppressing Palestine and hiding behind the invalid excuse of self-defense. Palestinians are begging the world to pay attention to their plight. Brian is embarrassed as a human being that people in any part of the world have to ask to be treated with dignity.
There is a blatant right and wrong in this situation. It is not antisemitic to condemn Israel for genocide. The United States is funding Israel to wipe Palestinians off of the face of the Earth. We at Revolution Radio have every intention to keep the conversation about Palestine going.
What’s Going On In Cali, Colombia?
Our special guest tonight is Angie Morales. She joins us from her home in Cali, Colombia. Angie is 22 and was born and raised in Cali. She is currently studying political science and conflict resolution at Universidad del Valle, the city’s university. She has participated in protests in the streets of Cali since April 28th. Her organization, Ciudad en Movimiento, was created from a larger national movement called Congress of the Villages.
Ciudad en Movimiento is a social and political organization with the objective to construct cities into dignified places to live for all. Their motto is constructing cities with dignity. They are made up of people from all walks of life: women, men and children, young people, environmentalists, mothers and social leaders across villages, districts and cities and institutional spaces. They have centers in cities all across Colombia, not just in Cali.
Police Militarization
Video of a protest performance is shown on stream. The performance was put on by a young woman who attends the same university as Angie. This video went viral in Colombia on several social media platforms. The depicted protest is being held in response to a lawyer being murdered by police in Cali. This event caused riots at the Capitol and protests spread across the nation. In Colombia, women, poor people, and other vulnerable groups are frequent victims of police violence.
Currently, most of the support that Angie is seeing people in Ciudad en Movimiento get is coming from within the organization. The Colombian government is trying to censor Ciudad en Movimiento and similar organizations because it does not want people outside of the country to know what’s going on.
Ciudad en Movimiento
Ciudad en Movimiento demands demilitarization in Cali as well as the resignation of various Colombian political leaders. Angie shares that a human rights organization reports that 1778 cases of police abuse, 11 cases of sexual abuse, 168 missing persons, and 42 deaths have taken place in Cali in only two weeks. As a social worker, Angie is profoundly impacted by these numbers on a psychosocial level. Ciudad en Movimiento is a way to fight back.

Good evening, everyone! We are so glad to have you here. Our panel tonight opens with Brian Powers and Christian Perez. Today would have been Karl Marx’ 203rd birthday. Revolution Radio suggests that our audience members seek literature by Marx via Google or elsewhere. He’s an essential part of being a well-read person. His theories offer unique perspectives that advanced society at the time and remain relevant to this day.
A lot of people assume that Marx’ theories have failed whenever they were put into use. However, there is a lot of nuanced discussion to be had about that point. For example, many disagree, citing that modern China is more capitalist than communist. Still others argue that countries such as North Korea did not carry out Marx’ ideas as intended at all to begin with.
Tiffany Kaszuba
Tonight we are going to be speaking with Tiffany Kaszuba. Tiffany is from New Jersey, born and raised. She got into politics early in her career, working in Washington, D.C. as a government relations professional. She was a lobbyist for 8 years before she ended up seeking to serve in Congress and running as a Democrat out of Trenton, New Jersey in 2019. Tiffany ended up quitting because she was being harassed by a man named Bill Robinson who was assigned to her campaign.
Tiffany found that no one in Trenton was actually trying to help her. Everything that was done was performative. She was assigned to a task force that was meant to help prevent harassment and discrimination in campaigns. Within the group, she helped write a bill to help protect campaign members from harassment and misogyny. This bill was then taken and given to Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg’s office.
Silenced Stories
The legislation that was eventually put forward was not in line with Tiffany’s original suggestions, which understandably caused her concern. When Tiffany came back with complaints about the new draft of legislation, she was silenced at every turn. Loretta Weinberg wanted to know why before she would even be willing to meet with Tiffany.
Tiffany is the founder of The NJ Violet, which is a media outlet that serves as a space to tell the real stories of women in New Jersey politics. She founded the NJ Violet because she was given no voice in the media so she decided to make her own. Any communications major or media worker will tell you that a very small subset of people have control over what gets out in the mainstream media. Often, the media will not depict certain people or ideas in a negative light, regardless of the truth.
Political Culture
New Jersey’s political culture is particularly corrupt, even among other states. Tiffany says that it’s the worst she’s ever seen. People are elected to power not because they would be the best at serving the people they represent, but because of an intricate political spider web. Part of why The NJ Violet exists is to expose that. Tiffany wants to hold people accountable for their behavior, sometimes including actions that span back decades.
Independent Media is all about getting the word out. There are certain things that mainstream media refuses to report on and it is important that you know them. Help us be able to keep bringing you these reports! Our productions all rely on donations from grassroots contributors.
Tiffany wants to be able to see her children live in a world where women can get elected to public office safely. As it stands, women who work in or on campaigns risk being traumatized on the job. It is much more difficult and even dangerous to run as a woman than as a man. Christian begins by taking a look at Joe Biden’s new 4 trillion dollar American Families Plan. Among the proposed pieces of legislation are expanded free lunch programs for the summer season, enhanced Pell Grants, free community college, enhanced funding for educational workforce recruitment, and funding universal preschools.
These are generally good things. Teachers and students in this country need all the support they can get. Universal funding for preschool, asserts Christian, is a great idea. This plan would cost 1.8 trillion and will, according to the Biden administration, be funded by increasing taxes on the rich.
The Armenian Genocide
In more somber news, this week was the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. In the Armenian Genocide, experts say that up to 1.5 million Armenians were murdered at the hands of the Ottoman empire. American leaders have been afraid to criticize Turkey because they have realized the country’s geopolitical importance.
After 106 years, President Biden has finally acknowledged the Armenian Genocide as a genocide. Christian is critical of Biden, but when he does something good, he will acknowledge it. After all, argues Christian, if we’re going to call out the Chinese for their oppression of Uyghur people, argues Christian, we also have to call out the Turks’ historical oppression of Armenians.
Carlson Bullshit Of The Week
Tucker Carlson is a man who makes millions of dollars spreading lies and propaganda on mainstream media. No matter how often he makes a fool of himself by saying something incorrect or even downright dangerous, he maintains a fanbase on FOX News. This week, Carlson said that if you see a child playing outside with a mask on, you should call the police, the same way you would if a child was being beaten in a Wal-mart. We at Revolution Radio hope that Tucker Carlson is eventually held accountable for his lies and fades into complete irrelevance.
NJRR Live Welcomes Jennifer Lewinski!
Tonight’s special guest is Jennifer Lewinski! Jennifer is an activist and organizer out of Asbury Park, New Jersey. Asbury Park spends 100,000 dollars on social services every year. Meanwhile, in the same time, it spends 11 million dollars, or a 30% of its budget, on the police force.
Derek Chauvin has been convicted but this does not meet Jennifer’s definition of justice. This man will do his time in jail but he has already been cemented as a martyr in the eyes of the alt-right, a victim in his own eyes. He will not be held accountable in the sense that he will never have to face Floyd’s family or the community. He will never be required to apologize for his murder.
Struggles In Asbury Park
The New Jersey European Heritage Association is a white supremacy organization that began activity in 2018. Recently, there has been NJEHA activity near or in Asbury Park. This is especially alarming because Asbury Park used to be considered a fairly safe neighborhood for leftists to live in. Even though they may be in her town, Jennifer is not afraid of singular white supremacists. She’s more concerned with societal policies that support white supremacy, such as gentrification.
Jennifer is also worried about the Asbury Park school district, particularly the middle schools. Jennifer has a trans daughter who faced bigotry in school. She remembers that her daughter faced bullying and the school district was extremely uncooperative in providing a safe education for her. In an act of appalling transphobia, they even suggested that she was causing her own problems by refusing to dress like a boy.

Tonight’s Dinner Is Roasted Pig
Hello and welcome to tonight’s Idavox Report on the Revolution Radio Network. Daryle is in a good mood today. For others, that is partially because it is 4/20. To those of us who celebrate, happy holidays! But for all of us, it is mostly because it was announced just hours ago that the man who killed George Floyd has been found guilty on all three counts.
Daryle reminds us that, as he retweeted earlier today, this is not the end of something, but the start of something. This isn’t over. People were killed as we were waiting for this trial to take place and for police murder to be condemned. The guilty verdict is a good sign, but the fight isn’t over. The killer is only the eighth police officer to be convicted of murder since 2005. The last time a police officer was convicted in Minneapolis, it was a black officer for shooting a white woman.
Mixed Reactions to A Black And White Issue
People on the right are reacting just as you might think they would. FOX News anchor Greg Gutfield commented that he is glad that Chavin was found guilty, even if he wasn’t guilty. This is because Gutfield’s neighborhood was being looted. Gutfield’s response is horrifically insensitive because, among other reasons, he is centering himself in an issue that he was never a part of.
Speaking of insensitive reactions, the panel takes a look at what Nancy Pelosi tweeted in reaction to the trial’s result. Her tweet ridiculously, asserted that Floyd’s death was a sacrifice. She actually used the word sacrifice. This is beyond offensive for a host of reasons, not the least of which is that George Floyd did not choose his tragic, brutal, and unjust death.

Continued Fight
Meanwhile, the GOP attempted to censure Representative Maxine Waters, a Democrat from California, because of remarks she made about protests relative to the trial. Waters preached that we need to persist in confronting the injustice in our system. Certain Republicans have ridiculously suggested that this was an act of insurrection.

The fight is not over. People are still dying in the streets and being murdered by police officers in their own homes. Black kids are being harassed by police for riding bikes in their own neighborhoods. We need political solutions in order to advance as a society that does not operate on violence. Additionally, our culture has to change. After all, social change is a facilitator of political change.
Political Change
The hearts and minds of the American people need to be opened. The lens through which we see others needs to be altered. The fabric of who we are as a nation has to completely change. It isn’t easy to get rid of that kind of hate. It takes a really long time.
As long as the police think they can get away with it, they will do it. Whether or not this verdict changes things significantly, us activists will keep reinforcing the message that police cannot get away with violence.
There are solutions that are afoot. We just have to ask people to commit to those solutions. There are a lot of things that we fight for that are easy fixes. The only reason they haven't been fixed yet is because the wrong people are in power. We have to show people that this is the case; convince them that a better world is possible and worth fighting for.
Police Can Quit Their Jobs
Daryle has been organizing for 30 years. He has witnessed countless police killings since then. Daryle used to serve in the air force. When he was in the air force, he was a cop. He was a self-described crappy cop, and he got kicked out, but he was indeed a cop. While he was working, he had a racist roommate and a co-worker who ended up raping a peer.

The Biden administration has announced that the United States is pulling out of Afghanistan and Alaska. China has flexed back on the US at a tense summit. How does this factor into a future of peace in the world?
Bahman Assad and Vijay Prashad
Our guests tonight are Bahman Assad, Vijay Prashad, and Christian Perez. Bahman is a familiar face from the US peace council. Bahman has gone overseas on a number of youth missions and diplomatic trips in the name of spreading a different perspective, one of peace. He was born and raised in Iran and he served in the Iranian military.
Bahman brought comrade Vijay Prashad to the show tonight. Vijay is a member of the Executive Committee of the U.S. Peace Council, Director of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, Chief Editor at LeftWord Books, and Chief Correspondent of Globetrotter. His most recent book is Washington Bullets, which has a preface that was written by Evo Morales. He is a recipient of the Muzaffar Ahmad Award.

US Army Overseas
During the past year, even with the pandemic, Vijay travelled the world in order to continue his journalistic work. Vijay and Bahman fear that the troops who were pulled out of Iran will simply be relocated elsewhere in the world. America needs to stop inserting itself as savior in a narrative where it was never wanted. We’ve been involved with scores of countries, some of whom actively wanted our army to stop occupying their territory.
US diplomats are starting to sound like the mafia in their global relations, making threats in order to maintain power. Meanwhile, when it comes to politics, all we see is rhetoric. We refuse to acknowledge our violent history as a country and we continue to operate as imperialists. The US is greedily hiding millions of dollars in offshore accounts instead of investing it in resources and development.
Xenophobia
We are trying to provoke a war with China because we are falling behind in communication technology. Rather than resolving things by reinvesting capital, we are attempting to start conflict. The United States government projects xenophobia towards China instead of learning from Chinese culture. This xenophobia takes many forms, some of the most prominent being negative associations with the coronavirus (”Chinavirus”) and with failed communism. We as a country do not understand China because we do not know about China. The mainstream media do not report accurately and thus America rejects a rich culture.
Free and fair democracy should be the ultimate goal for the political state in the world. In order to get there, countries across the globe will need to cooperate. People will need to be able to tolerate political systems other than the ones in which they live.

Hello, and welcome, everyone, to the Idavox Report on the Revolution Radio Network! We are coming back at you after a week of break from our productions. We hope that you in the audience had a nice week. Before we bring on our guest tonight, Daryle takes a moment to reflect on the trial of Derek Chauvin. Daryle is optimistic, commenting that he has never before seen a police chief testify against one of his own officers, and this testimony will surely have a lot of weight. That fact gives him some hope that Chauvin may be convicted of serious charges.
We here at Revolution Radio as well as several audience members will be furious if Derek Chauvin is convicted of anything less than murder. However, we have yet to hear what the defense has to argue. Even if this murderous fiend is brought to justice, we must ask ourselves: at what cost? Millions of people stormed the streets for months in direct response to this incident. Must we continue storming the streets to try to prevent another such incident from occurring? Daryle says yes.
Problems With Police
There is a problem with the way police are trained. For example, law enforcement trainer Dave Grossman invented the term Killology and created a training based on it. This word and related teachings concern the psychology of taking a life, specifically, removing oneself from the psychological effects of murder. The officer who killed Philando Castile has partaken in this training. Fortunately, backlash after George Floyd’s murder resulted in Dave Grossman’s books being banned from police training. His rhetoric is also discouraged among police forces.
Additionally, there is a problem with how society views police violence. A plethora of things could be said about this, but Daryle focuses tonight on cop shows. If you watch cop shows today, they all seem to have an episode where the main character shoots an unarmed civilian because they thought they were armed. Typically, there is an exaggerated response from an uppity Black pastor character who is essentially a racist trope. Pro-cop and anti-minority propaganda is deeply entrenched in society.
Antifa Unite
Daryle reminds us that since fascists are organizing globally, antifascists must also organize globally. North America is desperately in need of such an alliance. The first step is to network with antifascists around the globe. The last time we had the show, Daryle discussed several global antifascist seminars that he attended.
The Idavox Report Welcomes Tanja Vasic
Our guest tonight is someone that Daryle met in one of the seminars. Her name is Tanja Vasic, she lives in Serbia, and she represents the Minority Initiative. She has an M.A. in Psychology and she is concerned with how the Roma people are being treated in her country. The Roma are an Indo-Aryan people, traditionally nomadic and living mostly in Europe. They have existed in Serbia for 500-600 years.
Tanja is a member of the Minority Initiative. The organization aims to become a political party in Serbia that represents minorities. There are many minorities living in Serbia but one of the most targeted are the Roma people, also called Romani or gypsies.
Racism against Roma is also called anti-gypsyism. The Roma people face it every day. Racism against Roma is very prevalent and is increasing all the time. If you watch the news in Serbia, you will see that attacks and violence are frequent.

Good evening, everyone! It’s time for a special report here on the Revolution Radio network. What is a cult? What are their members like? And what does all of this have to do with politics? On tonight’s Special Report, we are going to be answering all of these questions with Brian Powers, Christian Perez, and Dr. La’Tesha Sampson.
Dr. La’Tesha Sampson has been on our show before for a Special Report on mental health in activism. She is a jack of all human trades: a certified social worker, a professor, an activist (her and Brian met during a protest), and a therapist with her own practice. Her practice is called Great Joy Counseling & Consulting Services and she works out of Westfield, NJ. As a mental health professional, Dr. Sampson is able to bring an especially valuable perspective to the table.
Christian Perez is a professor and activist who runs a podcast called Modernity and Absurdity. You can find it on Stitcher and Apple Podcasts as well as Youtube. Christian’s area of expertise in his professing is political science with a concentration in conspiracy theories. He has been asked to speak at several conferences. He is also a host on the Idavox Report with Daryle Lamont-Jenkins. Christian is an Editorial Board member who regularly contributes ideas to our network.
The Conspiracy Theorist Target Audience
Brian begins by asking La’Tesha what the target audience for a lead conspiracy theorist is. Dr. Sampson begins by acknowledging that people who fall into the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories are often no different than the rest of us. They just happen to be particularly vulnerable to being manipulated by ideas, often ones that they are passionate about. Usually, these people are targeted when their guards are down.
People have an innate desire to be a part of something. They want to be loved and feel like they belong. They want approval. Since childhood, we have been given grades on our performance in life. When people get involved with conspiracy theories, they very rarely realize that what they’re doing might not be right.
Predators Vs. Prey
On the other hand, the leaders of these conspiracy theories are often predatory people. Dr. Sampson describes them as being charming on the outside, yet often narcissistic or borderline in personality type. If you are a person with emotional wounds and/or vulnerabilities, you may be especially susceptible to the influence of such a person. Christian points out a propensity among modern Americans to seek a hero. This country is sorely lacking in solid leadership and people so desperately want a good person to look up to that they might tend to be blind to faults.
Brian reiterates that those who fall victim to conspiracy theories are often no more stupid than the rest of us, nor are they inherently mentally weak. Many of them were simply going through the wrong set of circumstances in life at the wrong time: for example, Christian provides, perhaps they had just experienced a loss and felt they were missing something. Leaders of culty conspiracy theories target these people in specific.
The Political Cult
Brian asks Christian about what makes a conspiracy theory a cult and what makes it political. The Oxford dictionary defines a cult as a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object. Christian cites examples from history: Roman emperors, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Adolf Hitler. Christian tells us that what defines

The issue we will be discussing tonight is the minimum wage and unions. Union work is how Brian came into the world of activism, so this topic is personal to him. Brian sees the entire issue as a means to an end of a system designed for failure. He is so over a $15/hour minimum wage.
Respecting Workers
It is important to respect workers. People often do not realize that workers are just as human as them. They deal with a lot of shit every day. Being a customer service worker, in particular, is a perfect encapsulation of working within the capitalist system. You sit at a desk from 9:00 to 5:00 every weekday and you do what you’re told, and if you don’t do that, you don’t get to eat.
Although workers do operate within the system, people need to remember that they did not create it. Whatever hassle you’re dealing with that made you come to customer service is not their fault. Brian recalls a time when he recognized relief in the voice of a customer service agent whom he was kind to.
Patrick Fahy
Brian brings in Patrick Fahy, an Editorial Board member and comrade. Brian and Patrick met back when they were both in the same union and both working for Verizon. They have since organized for minimum wage protests together.
The government wants the recent stimulus check to distract us from the fact that so many people are being systematically held in poverty or just above the poverty line. 1400 is not enough to get back on solid long-term financial ground. If it is, you weren’t ever really that financially unstable to begin with.
Politicians are celebrating that, with this stimulus check, the child poverty rate in America will be cut in half. It is ridiculous to celebrate half of children not living in poverty. If it is in their power to cut it in half, why not cut it in whole?

Mariah Painter
We are honored to welcome Mariah Painter, another Editorial Board member, to the panel! Mariah first got involved with worker’s rights movements in grad school when she joined the Students Against Sweatshops Alliance at Rutgers University. Since graduating, Mariah has worked with various unions in several states including Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Brian recalls his motivations behind getting involved with the political realm as it related to workers’ rights. He wanted to get involved in a movement that could make a real positive difference for workers’ rights by affecting policy. He was also impressed and inspired when workers in Seattle were able to get a raise on the minimum wage. Brian joined 15 Now in 2014 in an attempt to get on board with the minimum wage raise movement.
15 Now
Despite Brian’s hopes, the 15 Now Campaign fell apart. Brian thinks the reason that we do not have a $15/hour minimum wage, despite a very drastic and apparent need, is because the idea was never taken seriously by Democrats or working families. Additionally, 15 Now was poorly organized and never stood a chance as it was. 15 Now was an organization that left Brian walking away

Our show tonight opens with Daryle Lamont Jenkins, Christian Perez, and Brian Powers. Daryle, our host, would like to wish Queen Latifah a happy birthday. Daryle reminisces about days when he would buy hip-hop albums without even knowing anything about them beforehand.
As Black music evolves, conservatives always find something to be mad about. Right now, they’re trying to cancel Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for their performance at the Grammys. Christian comments that this country’s culture would be lame were it not for Black people’s contributions: He cites rock n’ roll, jazz, and the blues.
Author Nneka J. Howell
Black people’s contributions to the arts are fundamental to American culture. On that note, we bring in tonight’s guest, author Nneka J. Howell! Nneka’s feature publication is The Color Of Play, a children’s book set to be released on March 31. Daryle reviewed The Color Of Play on Idavox and called it unique among children’s books.
When it comes to childrens’ books, things are usually sanitized for the kids to take in. Although it is a children’s book, The Color Of Play does not shy away from tough questions. It advocates for diversity, adversity, and friendship. When Nneka wrote the book, she had the goal of highlighting the struggles that Black children go through in the real world every day. These issues are often silenced but Nneka used her creativity to bring them to light.
A Book We Can All Learn From
The story’s main conflict involves children not being able to play together in the same way. Ultimately, their parents have to help the children understand racism and differences between cultures. Nneka believes that love and hate are taught in the home so she wrote a book that children can learn from. She hopes that this will help those children grow up to be more tolerant adults.
The Color of Play is Nneka’s debut children's book and her fourth published book. It is the first in a planned children’s picture book quartet, a series titled Color Me Human. She plans to write various diverse characters into her books. For example, in The Color Of Play, the main character is adopted and lives with a biracial family. Nneka did not want to adhere to the norm in her book because we need to get comfortable getting uncomfortable. If we don’t, we will never be able to live together effectively.
The conflict in The Color Of Play stems from Nneka’s personal struggles. For example, Nneka is troubled that her two young children can’t do certain innocent play activities in public without being frowned upon. She also has several Caucasian friends who are overly focused on “woke” culture.
Questions That Need To Be Asked
Christian asks Nneka about when specifically she realized that she should write a children’s book. Nneka remembers that she was fueled by the energy of the protests in response to police brutality in 2020. She felt that there was no better thing to write about than the experiences that those close to her live with. Through her work, Nneka was and is hoping to provoke healthy conversations in various settings across the country.
Nneka is aware that The Color Of Play is the type of book that might have children asking questions. She urges parents to encourage those questions: “We as adults should not be afraid to talk to our children about these topics that are rough to talk about.” The only way to create change is to discu

It is 8 o'clock on Wednesday night and that means it is time for #NJRR Live! This week, we are joined by a variety of knowledgeable guests. But first, we are going to acknowledge the COVID relief bill being passed in the Senate. Absolutely no Republicans voted for it, which is pathetic. Also, unemployment was reduced from $400 to $300 per month. While we waited for months as politicians squabbled over this check, the Biden administration made some insidious moves, such as bombing Syria.
The Democrats are now in power and they are mismanaging things so poorly that they are falling out of favor. Brian will not be surprised if a Republican is elected in 2024, perhaps even someone worse than Donald Trump. If you’re not upset, you’re part of the problem.
Horror Movie Spotlight: The Platform
Capitalism fails us time and time again. On that note, we bring show writer Leah Giannantonio and Editorial Board member Marilyn in to review a horror movie called The Platform. The Platform was a Spanish movie released in early 2020. In the film, a man volunteers to go to a prison program.
The prison is a type of pit/hole with many cells at different levels. Every day, a platform with food on it is lowered through the prison, stopping for a few minutes at each level so the people in the cells can eat from it. However, the pit goes down so far that the platform always runs out of food before those in the lower cells can eat (SPOILER: some people even end up eating their cellmates out of necessity.)
Blatant Metaphor
Overall, as you can likely tell from that short synopsis, this movie is a metaphor for the capitalistic system in which we live. It is extremely common for horror movies to carry social messages. The main character enters into the hole willingly in exchange for a college degree. The lady who interviewed him for the program ultimately joins him in the pit, showing that even some of those involved in the system do not know how cruel it is.
The film is deliciously gorey, comments Marilyn. It captures the moment of the pandemic so well. People’s needs are not being met. In the movie, there would be enough food on the platform for everyone in the prison if everyone only took what they needed. I don’t even need to explain how that relates to our real world situation — it is our real world situation. Necessity and scarcity are created by capitalism.

For example, a lot of people still think that the worst thing about slavery in the US was whipping, when in reality, there was so much more: murders, rapes, and other brutal displays; slaves were tortured, bred, and separated from their families. It doesn’t even stop there. But we rarely if ever hear about this, and never in schools. Why?
The Power of Narratives
Writing shapes the narrative. Media, narratives, and propaganda, all which heavily involve words and writing, can control a society. Teka points out that there is a lot of sexism and racism in the journalism industry. It is one of the least diverse fields, even when it comes to the left.

Unidad Latina en Acción
Tonight, our first guests are Maya Aronoff and Elias Rojop of Unidad Latina en Acción, which is a grassroots organization with the goal of promoting immigrant workers’ rights. Elias and two other workers were hired by a Dr. Phillip, a successful dentist who owns multiple properties to do construction on an apartment complex this past Autumn. Much of their agreement was in writing, however, Dr. Phillip is refusing to finish paying Elias. Elias and the other workers are owed $1700.
Unidad Latina en Acción has attempted to contact Phillip through letters and phone calls in order to come to an agreement about this money. However, they have been ignored. Unidad has now resorted to filing a complaint with the Department of Labor and engaging in direct actions outside of Phillips’ office and home in Freehold, New Jersey in the meantime as the complaint goes through. The direct actions include parading a giant balloon rat down Phillips’ street.
Immigrant Workers’ Rights
Elias emphasizes that workers deserve to be paid and any immigrant workers struggling with similar issues can seek out Unidad Latina en Acción for help. Elias’ case has been taken on by a pro bono lawyer who was found through Unidad. Maya encourages those struggling to reach out to community organizations.
The Unidad Latina en Acción has a website through which you can donate to their Day Laborers emergency relief fund. All money goes directly to day laborers who have not been included in federal relief due to their immigration status. Unidad Latina en Acción is an organization that comes from, for, and by workers. Exploitation of workers is unacceptable and will not stand.

The National Lawyers Guild Press Release
No Evictions for 30+ Families in Philadelphia Takeover Houses
The National Lawyers Guild stands in solidarity with the Poor People’s Army and all of the 30+ families that are sheltered in homes that are reclaimed, abandoned properties in Philadelphia. Three families in Philadelphia, residing in homes owned by the Department of Housing & Urban Development, have received notices or threats of eviction within the last two months and could be thrown out into the freezing cold at any moment. Poor People’s Army/Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign has filed three pro se federal injunctions for these properties and are likely to go to court any day. The families should not be viewed as trespassers or criminals, they are human beings that have a right to safe housing. Since its founding, the NLG has organized to be “an effective force in the service of the people by valuing human rights and ecosystems over property interests.” The housing of unhoused people in abandoned government-owned properties is a prime example of this.
The NLG believes it is important for lawyers to take a stand on issues of life, death, and justice, even if there is no legal remedy. There have always been unjust laws written by those in power against the poor. Most of the evils throughout history have been legally sanctioned, such as American slavery or segregation.
“We understand that the Poor People’s Army initiated these housing takeovers in an attempt to provide people a safe place to live during the winter and the pandemic,” says Elena Cohen, President of the NLG.
“Homelessness is now and has always been a moral, human rights, and public health crisis,” says Sarah White, Co-Chair of the Housing & Homelessness Committee of the NLG. “As homelessness continues with the ongoing pandemic and heightened joblessness, lawyers need to take sides and support poor people organizing themselves to survive against corporations and the rich.”
The NLG finds it unconscionable that anyone is unhoused in the richest country in the world and believes it is abhorrent that HUD or any other agency would move to evict a family at any point, particularly during the coldest months of the year and during a pandemic which has left half a million Americans dead.
“There are 10 abandoned properties for every homeless person in Philadelphia,” explains Elsa Noterman, a geographer at University of Wisconsin-Madison who recently completed a study on this. “Nearly all of the takeover houses have children in them,” says Cheri Honkala, National Coordinator for Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign/Poor People’s Army. “If the city and country won’t house people, then God and us will.”

Hello and welcome, readers and listeners, to another episode of #NJRR Live! We are coming at you on Wednesday night, as we usually do. For those of you who don’t know, Revolution Radio is a national independent media network created to foster art and activism. We are proletariat-driven, bringing information to the grassroots when corporate media won’t. We also like to talk about weed when we can.
For our first guest tonight we welcome our writer and in-house weed scholar/expert, Leah Giannantonio, to the show. Leah holds a minor degree in Cannabis Studies from Stockton University. She considers herself very lucky for the fact that she was already attending Stockton University when the minor was announced. Leah first joined Revolution Radio through the Cannabis Studies internship program that was required by her university. Needless to say, she is incredibly grateful for the existence of the Cannabis Studies minor at Stockton University.
Where’s NJ’s Legal Weed?
Leah wants to address a question: Why isn’t weed legal yet in NJ? It’s in the constitution that the cultivation, processing, and sale of retail marijuana or persons age 21 and older has been legal starting Jan. 1, however, without the corresponding legislation, it is effectively still illegal. There are still no dispensaries for legal purchasing and there have been no laws signed allowing for the possession of weed.
A New Jersey Attorney General has declared that prosecutors should adjourn low-level marijuana prosecutions until March. Most if not all of the low-level marijuana charges that have been made in 2021 will be dropped. However, arrests are still happening every day. The numbers vary but NJ.com reports that there have been over 6,000 marijuana-related arrests this year.
Unnecessary Police Encounters
According to the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey, Black people are 3.5 times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than white people (this statistic persists even though Black people and white people use the plant at similar rates.) Mathematically, that’s over 4,000 unnecessary interactions between Black people and police in New Jersey this year so far. As we’ve seen once again this past year, these encounters are more than often dangerous and can end tragically.
There are currently at least two bills that would legalize marijuana literally sitting on Phil Murphy’s desk but he won’t touch them. Remember a few years ago when this man was running for office and he promised that he would prioritize cannabis legalization? It just goes to show that politicians will say anything, co-opt any movement, to get into office.
Holdups, Hangups, Or Excuses?
So, what’s the holdup? Or, to phrase it more accurately, what’s the excuse? We the people voted to amend the New Jersey constitution to legalize marijuana in November.
Despite 2.7 million New Jersey residents who voted yes on the ballot, New Jersey has yet become the 13th state to legalize marijuana.
The official line would probably be something about “complex legislative hangups.” Leah is here to clear up just what that fancy lingo means. One argument that Governor Murphy wants resolved before he’ll sign the bill is that of how much, if any, people under 21 will be fined for low-level cannabis possession. Impeachment Season 2: Bullshit Reloaded
We bring our writer, Leah, in to discuss the second impeachment of Donald Trump. This is the second day of impeachment and the panel so far can agree that it has been a dumpster fire. Brian has been involved in labor litigation before and he can testify that this defense was unprepared because he knows what unprepared looks like. It was obviously a poorly constructed last-minute effort.
Rather than just working with what they have, Donald Trump's legal team has built a mountain of bullshit. Some of the people who will vote to equip Trump are the same who were fearing for their lives just a month ago because of the violent insurrection that Trump incited. Why they would still vote in Trump's favor is beyond Brian. "You need way more therapy than can ever be had by a person."

Right-Wing Ridiculousness
It is ludicrous that people would not vote to impeach Trump at this point. Kim reminds us that no matter what happens in this impeachment, Trump is miserable. The PGA tour wants nothing to do with him, many people in the Republican party now longer support him, and now corporations don't want to donate to senate Republicans. Companies don't want their products to be associated with him, the screen actors guild kicked him out, and he can't even complain about it on social media.

Welcome to Our First Regular Idavox Report
Hello and welcome to another Idavox Report from #NJRR Live, here to show you that hate has consequences. This is Daryle Lamont Jenkins’ premier podcast, the first of many regular episodes of the Idavox Report on Revolution Radio. From now on the podcast will air every Tuesday at 8PM EST. We begin tonight’s show by playing the music video for Stand Up and Fight.
The video is a visual compilation of activism and police violence overlaid with a moving song about never giving up. It ends with a photo roll of those priceless Black Lives recently lost to police violence in America. Stand Up and Fight was produced by Midnight Transit, a group consisting of our two esteemed guests tonight. Lester and Dylan Chambers are a father and son duo who have been involved in activism for most of their lives. They join us tonight from California to discuss their music, their activism, and the intersection of the two.
Stand Up And Fight
There is a lot to unpack in the Stand Up and Fight music video. You may have noticed if you clicked to watch the video (which we highly recommend!) that you were met with a content warning. Dylan notes that this content warning is interesting because he gathered most of the clips used in the video from major news networks. The videos from which he took the clips never had any content warnings on them. Dylan expected this type of thing to happen because he knows that racism is so often covered up in this country. The video was only up for two days before it was flagged with the warning. Lester pitches in that it is not often that people are confronted with a whole picture of police brutality but it is important that it happens.
There has been feedback from the general public for Midnight Transit to make more digestible, pop-friendly lyrics. However, Lester and Dylan don’t make their art for the money, so they don’t bow into pressure. They will not compromise their message. Midnight Transit has been around for about 6 years so far and is looking forward to getting back out there for performances as soon as it is safe.
It’s Not Just History
Dylan made sure to learn the stories of all 47 of the victims shown at the end of his music video. He hopes people will remember that behind each of those photos is a valuable human life that had potential, who was loved by many, who had their own story. Lester shares that he considers himself lucky to be here and Dylan chimes in with agreement. Many of those that were killed were activists much like Lester and Dylan who were only ever trying to spread a message of social justice.
A lot of people in our country today throw around the word “ancestors” without considering the implications. “Ancestors” implies, but does not technically necessarily denote, relatives more than two generations back. This is so often not accurate. Lester personally lived through the Civil Rights Movement. He describes living life as a boy in Mississippi, when his whole family lived in a shack and would get one shared pair of clothes each year.
On a regular basis, the KKK would roll through, so Lester’s family had to stay armed and guarded through the nights. Since Lester is a living victim, many of those who victimized him are most likely still alive as well. People have been so reluctant to acknowledge that these dangerous people are still around.

Recently, comedian and Youtuber Jimmy Dore had a member of the Boogaloo movement on his show. Jimmy Dore is considered a liberal figure. He identifies as progressive. Yet by his own admission, he had no idea who the Boogaloo boys were before he had one on the show. This was irresponsible journalism on the part of Jimmy Dore. This behavior verges on, some may even say breaches, apologism, and it needs to stop. It is entirely unacceptable that he was platforming someone who was from a right-wing group containing Neonazis.

Daryle Lamont-Jenkins and Abner Hauge
The Boogaloo movement has been conflated by its own members to the second Civil War, which will take place when Republicans are no longer able to win elections. Members were coordinating riots if Trump lost for months before the election. For more on this, we welcome all the way from the West Coast (the “Left Coast,” as he calls it) author Abner Hauge. Abner was recently profiled in the Washington Post for their work doxxing members of right-wing movements.
Abner tells us that the Boogaloo movement is a deliberative, coordinated effort that uses bullshit talking points reminiscent of libertarian rhetoric. Their idea of freedom derives largely from settler colonialism. It boils down to a bunch of guys who want to own their own little fiefdoms. It is not so much a centralized movement as one that is just heavily associated with patriotism.
Dismantling Boogaloos
Abner and their website successfully infiltrated a Boogaloo movement Discord server that had over 2,000 members called the Citizens Liberty Organization. This effort included leaking the public relations document. Said document contained instructions to infiltrate BLM protests and cause mayhem, with the goal of ultimately leading to governmental collapse. Members of the group had been gathering and plotting in the server for months before it was brought down. The endgame for these people is anarcho-capitalism, which is really just more capitalism in the end. One of the lines in the PR document was “remember: they think these protests are about Black Lives.”
Abner Hauge Left Coast Right Wing Watch @LCRWNews Abner tells us that the Boogaloo boys were intentionally framing Antifa. That is why they attacked in the way that they did.
