With his most recent executive order, Trump is attempting to allow political appointees to remain in their positions past the end of a presidential term. It also grants agencies authority to remove career employees involuntarily from career civil service into an unprotected, vulnerable status. This is a major attempt to undo the civil service as we know it and is a direct result of career civil servants placing their oath to the Constitution above service to Trump's personal agenda.
