Examples of gastrointestinal illnesses include colorectal cancer, GERD, and diarrhoea. Some disorders exhibit symptoms despite the fact that an examination reveals no issues with the GI tract. The majority of digestive disorders are treatable or preventable.

The GI tract, which extends from the mouth to the anus, is affected by gastrointestinal illnesses. Functional and structural are the two categories. Examples include diarrhoea, food poisoning, nausea/vomiting, and lactose intolerance.

Medical gastroenterology is the study of conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, and rectum.

It requires a thorough understanding of the physiology of the gastrointestinal organs and their typical functions, which include the motility—or movement—of substances through the stomach and intestines, the digestion and absorption of nutrients into the body, the elimination of waste products from the system, and the role of the liver as a digestive organ.

Relieving symptoms and enhancing joint function are the main goals of arthritis treatment. Before finding the most effective treatment, it is necessary to try out a number of alternative options.

The joints are examined for swelling, redness, and warmth by the doctor during the physical examination. Additionally, the kind of arthritis can be determined by laboratory tests that analyse several body fluids, including joint fluid, blood, and urine. X-rays, computerised tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound are the types of testing that can find issues within the joint that might be the source of the symptoms.

Viruses are incredibly tiny infectious agents. They are composed of a genetic component, like DNA or RNA, that is encased in a protein coat. Your body's cells are invaded by viruses, which then use the cells' components to aid in their own multiplication. Infected cells are frequently damaged or destroyed during this process. Any illness or medical condition brought on by a virus is referred to as a viral disease.
Although many viral diseases are contagious, not all viral diseases are contagious, meaning they don't always spread from person to person. The flu, the common cold, HIV, and herpes are examples of contagious viral diseases.

Surgery, radiation, drugs, and other therapies are used in cancer treatment to eradicate cancer, reduce the size of cancer, or halt the spread of cancer. You may receive one treatment or a combination of treatments, depending on the specific circumstances.

Primary treatment, adjuvant treatment, and palliative care are different types of cancer treatment. Primary treatment entails either total cancer removal from the body or total cancer cell eradication. In order to lower the likelihood that cancer will recur, adjuvant therapy is used to eradicate any cancer cells that might endure after primary therapy. Palliative care can help with both treatment-related side effects and cancer-related symptoms.

Treatments for kidney failure include dialysis and kidney transplantation. People with failing kidneys can receive treatment through dialysis. Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are the two types of dialysis that carry out typical kidney functions by removing waste and extra fluid from the blood.

As a result of inadequate blood filtering during kidney failure, waste and toxins accumulate in the bloodstream. Dialysis performs the function of the kidneys by eliminating waste and extra fluid from the blood.

Avascular necrosis, also known as osteonecrosis, is the death of bone tissue as a result of a lack of blood flow, and it can result in minute fractures and eventual collapse of the bone.

Blood flow to a portion of bone can be stopped by a shattered bone or dislocated joint.

Additionally, excessive alcohol consumption and long-term usage of high-dose steroid medicines are linked to avascular necrosis. People between the ages of 30 and 50 are most frequently affected by the illness.

Some persons experience avascular necrosis in both hips or knees, for example. Avascular necrosis of the hip can cause pain that is concentrated in the buttock, thigh, or groine. The shoulder, knee, wrist, and foot can also be impacted in addition to the hip.

Inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, umbilical hernia, and Hiatal (hiatus) hernia are the most common forms of hernia. While the other types include incisional hernia, epigastric hernia, Spigelian hernia, and diaphragmatic hernia.

Hernias can cause swelling or bulge in the groin or scrotum, increased pain at the bulge's location, pain when lifting, an enlargement of the bulge over time, a dull aching sensation, a feeling of being full, or indications of bowel obstruction.

Tomato flu is most likely caused by a strain of the hand, foot, and mouth disease virus ( Coxsackie virus). It was assumed that it was not a new viral infection, but rather a side effect of dengue or chikungunya infection (though this is less likely). It causes reddish rashes, skin irritation, and dehydration and primarily affects children because most adults have a well-developed immune system that can defend against this virus. It has been reported mostly in the 1-9 year age group and has been reported first in Kerala, followed by Tamil Nadu, Odisha, etc.  Tomato flu symptoms are similar to COVID-19, such as fever, fatigue, and body aches, but the virus is not related to SARS-CoV-2. Along with keeping the infected child away from uninfected kids, preventive measures include maintaining good hygiene; and sanitising the surroundings and environment.
