In this episode, we shared our thoughts about the labels of African-American and Black-American.
We journeyed into the origins of when we started noticing the labels. Why is there a need for labels? The effects and many more intricacies of the subject. This is personal to us because Denine and I are from the same family, and we have two different skin tones. We are Blacks, (multicolored blacks). We have personal experiences of the negative effects of colorism, and we shared them in this episode.
Despite the sensitivity of the topic, as always, it was an open, honest, and thought-provoking conversation between girlfriends. Hope you love it.

It’s finally here!! 🎉🎉 🎉
Our very first episode. We are excited to let you into our world.😊
In this episode, we let you have a taste of the kind of conversations you will be listening to in our show. We started off by discussing if it was OK to let Leona’s teenage daughter go to the movie all by herself. What measures could I take to feel better and her safe, when she goes out to the movies? I also shared how proud I am of my 15-year-old boy, who handled peer pressure like a champ and did not have to do what some group of boys wanted him to do.
It’s a conversation between girlfriends, and you could lose track of time just listening to us. I know that happened to us when we recorded this episode.
Some other things we discussed:
✅ How to deal with teenagers and their demand for space
✅ Letting go of your past
✅ Dealing with the crazies in your workplace
✅ Covid and its effect on relationships
✅ Question of the day
✅ Women History Month and Black History Month
✅ Entertainment Gist: Our take on Jessie Smollett
✅ Entertainment Gist: Sherri Shepherd replacing Wendy Williams
✅ Things we do frequently for our self-care.
✅ The Positive Affirmation for this episode.
