Sage's home reading on a weekly basis is a good practice for the school's
reading activity. The book is designed for year 1 children to be able to comprehend the story and eventually share their summary about it.
As I have asked Sage on his idea or understanding about the story on the Secret Room
for example what came to his mind were the youtubers Ben and Cam as part of the storyline. He thought it was Ben and Cam built the secret room although the story was a series about Biff and Chip's adventure with their dog Kipper and their parents. On the story Lizard Loses Its Tail, Sage understood that the kingfisher ate the tail.
On the hindside, when we filmed Sage's home reading, we were able to
have our family weekend getaway in La Digue so it was a more relaxing and a different view.

Home Reading
Sage is already on his year 1 at International School Seychelles and they are given home reading every week. At first, I was a bit anxious whether he would be able to read as I had taught him phonics, honestly because I don't know how to prepare it! Lmao! There were words or sounds that I don't have the pedagogy nor the background on how it should be blended so YouTube is our outlet at home.
Thank goodness at school they are encouraged to read and I am so elated to hear him able to read those simple sentences. In between, I have to ask questions to test his comprehension level as well.
These two books were quite a good practice for him and I am glad that he found the interest to read although he would bargain to do it after his lego session.
So in this video, I managed to have him read the books after which he did his spelling practice too. They were given 8 words to spell and every Friday will be their spelling test. I'm glad that he managed to get 7 out of 8! As a mom, I couldn't be more grateful for Sage's ability to do his studies more maturely.
I never thought that as Sage is growing in his studies, his learning would be more interesting. We made it a point to have him experience real things with it. For example, part of their homework was about "how to survive in the jungle, we crafted a 3D design of it to show him survival is vital. He shared his thoughts that the basic survival instinct was to bring water.
Kindly share your views below on how to teach your kiddos in a more fun and interesting way. I integrate it with games and the truth of the matter is that I also enjoyed doing it with him.

We decided to bring Sage to La Digue after his two operation to help him ease the pain!
This holiday getaway is a reflection how life must be spent with family!
Rarely I also learn how to relax as I felt like living in Mahe is full of mixed emotions in terms of career and family matter!
Anyhow we managed to spend a week in La Digue.Hopping guest houses to see others areas too!
But on top of everything, we just wanted to have a family bonding and have Sage relax a lil bit after his five days at the hospital!👍

My ME-TIME Travel is my way of changing perspective and sometimes we just need to go out from our comfort zone to see things at a distance!
Had a self-retreat in Thailand and I am truly grateful for the chance to unwind in a country I hardly had time conversing with the locals due to language barrier but they would go extra miles to help me around with anything!
It was such a crazy yet funny experience and I love how respectful, sofly spoken and kind Thai people are. There was a point I had to return the shoes I purchased for Sage due to size difference, instead of 38 I bought 18! Thank God they changed it without any issues. Of course I have the receipt shown to them. A friend who is working in Thailand said that as along as you have purchased items in the shopping mall, they would do refund.

Sage is now in Reception 2 at International School Seychelles.
Together with the supportive parents, we had our family fun day going for
a walk at Roche Caiman fitness trail.
Their PE teacher together with Ms. Caroline, the Head of Primary Department led the walk and we all just followed. The kids were truly having fun during the fun walk.
As we almost ended, Ms. Caroline gathered them together for a "goose goose,duck duck".

Sage has to continue reading until page 8, and I was truly amazed that he made an effort to read despite not feeling well that day. He even said that I have to write a comment after the reading session with him at home.
So I asked him what comment will I write instead?

It was truly a surprising thing for me knowing that for 8 years living in Mahe, it’s my first time ever going to Silhouette Island, 35 minutes by boat and was shocked to know how the island has a very different vibe.
Apart from its tranquility and serenity,SAFETY is so transparent like you can just open your windows and no need to lock your room because nobody would dare take anything!
NO SWEARING! and people are so polite and kind! big deal for me!
And you can roam around at night despite limited lights on the road and you feel really safe!
Should you feel like taking a DETOX from your routine in life, SILHOUETTE ISLAND Seychelles is a good way to relax!

Our annual family trip to Mauritius 2023 was a magical experience that strengthened our bonds and created lifelong memories. It was a time of relaxation, adventure, and quality time spent together in one of the most beautiful destinations.
We stayed at Flic en Flac for the first week and transferred to Quatre Borne a week after. Sage enjoyed the tram the most going to Port Louis rather than in a car as he's excited to get his ticket.
By the way, travellers or tourists can purchase the ticket at the Metro Station and you can pay either cash or card. We usually used card to pay as Mauritius Commercial Bank is also available in the country.
Some of the areas we visited were Flic en Flac beachside, Quatre Borne Market, Albion public beach whereby from Quatre Borne the easiest way to get there was to take the tram and drop off at Rose Hill and then take a bus going to Albion. Trou Aux Cerf at Curepipe was also the best way to unwind from the busy and the crazy days at Port Louis.
Well one of the best adventures we had was getting lost while trying to check the newly opened Tribeca Mall. The road was quite tricky so we ended up going on the roundabout thrice and decided to go to Bagatelle Mall at Moka area where I could say the best mountainviews were superb.
We returned home with hearts full of joy and a shared longing to return to this tropical paradise again in the future.

Our Saturday activity of three is always going for a road trip around Mahe.
One of the highlights actually was harvesting Prendi Fras which could be found
on the hillside. I like it not only of the taste but I think it's more natural and
healthier than ever.
Likewise the green mountains almost covering the main road of Sans Soucis
was also very relaxing.

Sage's Home learning during the half term was all about Farm Animals. We decided
to take a road trip to the farthest end of Mahe in Cap Bonm to see farm animals.
Lucky enough, on the way to our destination, we managed to see a cow on the road.
We had to stop and take some photos as one of the animals to collect pictures with.
Sage had been so hesitant to take a picture but took courage in the end with the help of
his dad.
On the way to Anse La Mouche, there farm animals in a cage e.g. rabbits, turkey, chickens,
chicks, and birds so we had to take more photos and videos for compilation.
We ended up at Paradis Des Enfants for further homeworks to do like playing
"hide and seek."

I decided to document our version of the Simon Says game at home as part of Sage home learning activities. I thought it was exhausting and tedios but our 3 years old made it easy actually.
Part of the homework was also learning how to count from 1 to 12 as seen on the clock based from the Hickory Dickory Dock nursery ryhme. I wasn't expecting that he would participat as it was almost his nap time.
When at home, I just want him to enjoy and have fun with what we are doing and not obliging him to do it out of responsibility but through understanding that he needs to finish his task atleast before the deadline.
Quite tricky yet Sage had this notion that "homework" has to be done because his goal was the "star of the week" whereby he made it on the fifth week.
SO proud of him by the way. Might be an extrinsic motivation but I see to it that he's doing his "little jobs" because he enjoyed and understood that it's part of his growth and development.

Sage has great moment learning at International School Seychelles, especially his playtime with his classmates and friends! Joining Reception One at ISS had been an experience my baby always has a word to describe
as "FUN"
At the same time, celebrating Creole Day in Mahe was a good getaway.
It was amazing to witness how Seychelloise celebrated their national day where they catered their traditional food, cuisine, gallery, and the highlighted one was the rickshaw.

Our travel to Mauritius was such h an amazing journey being able to see BumbleBee, Thor and Wonder Woman in person lol!
How creative that in Grand Baie they had a Superhero Theme for that particular weekend on a Labour Day. Sage on the other hand was kinda starstruck that he's surprised to even come closer to Bumblee Bee and could not believe that it was his favourite robot right infront of him. He had few of Bumblee Bee's collection at home.
Our family annual travel has given him a chance to emege in a different culture whereby it is imprinted on his brain what an awesome experience he had as he is growing. Now apart from Davao (Philippines) and Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), he can say it with conviction that Mauritius is also a country worth visiting especially the fun park at every Malls where he had so much fun playing slides with the other children.

Our first time in Mauritius was greeted with the busy life in Grand Baie as this is a tourist destination. As soon as we reached our guest house, we could not contain our excitement and decided to walk around the area.
La Croisette as the newly opened mall in Grand Baie was just so full of entertainment, especially with kids and Sage wanted to try his driving skills again like how he did at Caudan Waterfront.
The only difference is the price itself. Regardless of the cars, all are fixed at 100 Mauritian Rupees for 10 minutes unlike at Caudan Waterfront, which was 250MRS for 12 minutes depending on the type of car to drive as well.
Above all we had a blast staying at Grand Baie as it was a walking distance to shopping centers like SuperU where Sage enjoyed the playground as well as at La Croisette though it would take around 15-20 minutes by foot.
Options going to La Croisette from the guest house we stayed were taxi for 200Rs and an Express Bus for 34 Rs. Should you wish to take by foot, it's FREE and it's more adventurous! Lol!
Would surely come back for more adventure.

Perhaps my way of teaching my baby into learning how to deal with life's adversities in the future is to develop his problem-solving skills. The way I see which is more interesting for him is "puzzle and building blocks together!"
Puzzles are good stimulators for brain development at an age where my baby's growth is still so open to possibilities and creativity. Whenever we gave him new puzzles to work with, he's just so excited to keep doing it over and over again. Early morning, in between throughout the day and at night before bedtime. This has become part of his routine.

Our weekend road trip was quite amusing especially when we went to the newly opened shop at Grand Anse. It's a bit far from where we are staying so in case we needed money to go back, it would cost more fuel.
However we only have 125scr as spare change and Sage started to ask for juice, milk or anything to eat. Although we had heavy lunch at home, having something for a snack while driving makes it more convenient.
WATER and fruits are always our go-to necessities whenever we went on our family road trip. I prepared enough for the three of us to drink but Sage was so pissed off when he found out that his dad had drank his water.
Eventually, he started bubbling why did he drink his water, what will he bring to the childminding now that he doesn't have water and on top of it he will report to his auntie Justine and auntie Janice that his dad had drank his water.
I found it so amusing hearing my baby saying those words trying to emphasize that he doesn't have water anymore and that the robot will come to get his da.
Sometimes Sage's bubbling moments are just music to my ears.

Sage will be turning three in the next weeks and I couldn't get enough documenting his developmental milestones. As he is growing bubbly and healthy, I thank God for the clever ways that my baby is doing even at the childminding. There were days I am asking myself, how on earth did he manage to figure out those things and that? etc???
One of the most amazing things I am learning from my baby is his speaking skills. There were words that he would tell me which I do not have any idea what it was all about.
For example when he said, "ne le fais pas maman or he would say, "je n'aime pas maman" and so I have to figure out what he wanted me to do hence Siri is a great help for multilingual moms!
Most of the time my biggest question is,
"are babies' brains wired to which country they were born? Regardless of whether you teach the word or not eventually they would acquire it spontaneously?
Anyhow after our staff meeting in the school, I decided to bring Sage on a date. I called it "mommy and baby bonding" so we went to Eden Island. As it was almost lunch, he wanted pasta and his all-time favourite "chicken samosa."
Sage loved to roam around the area. He said he wanted to check what was upstairs as were about to go check on the boats. I let him take the stairs to fulfil his curiosity. I need to stop him from entering EuroMedical as he was about to open the door lmao! (It's a private clinic by the way and you can also do your PCR test there in case).
As he went ahead, a statue of "Buddha" caught his attention. I was surprised when he said, "wake up! I say wake up" and tried to wake the poor statue. Thinking that in his innocent brain, it was sleeping.
The staff attendant was also laughing when she heard him saying, "Wake up! Wake up!"
I told him it's a statue so it would remain sleeping forever! How can I explain a non-living object to a two-year-old?
We decided to go down and he said he wanted "ice cream" so we went to that small ice cream shop adjacent to MCB Bank. He loved the strawberry flavour but because it was not available, Sage decided to take the vanilla. We went out to have his ice cream and sat at the vacant plastic chairs outside the shop.
We talked ( as if we could really have a mature conversation), observed the people around and stayed for another hour. I could sense that Sage's started to be tired as it was almost 2:00 pm, His nap time. I asked if we would call his dad to pick us up since he got the car that day!
I thought waiting was so boring not until my baby did an innocent, comical way of stopping those cars passing by.
Most of the drivers were beeping, waving at him whenever he said, "STOP!" waving his hand with a stop sign!
Jesus Christ what else can Sage be capable of? I wonder in the next years to come...

This is the part of Mahe, the largest island of Seychelles ( capital is Victoria) whereby on the southern part lies the NYC (formerly called NYC or National Youth Council of Seychelles) and as per hubby's experience, they had to walk from the dorm to the main bus station for about an hour to catch a trip to the main town.
As we were heading towards the end part, there was a white Honda car who came before us and one has to give way and reverse to let the other pass through. It was hell of a scary ride in my life considering that I am so used with four lanes back in my country lol....
My first hand experience of roads here in Seychelles was quite amusing for my hubby when the first time he picked me up at the airport, I almost galloped from my seat as the road was just too narrow. It's as if a truck and a bus would almost collide.
Even living here for quite sometime going to the southern part which is a good way to see more of greeneries that I love, the view could somehow compensate the narrow road.
Thank God we managed to get through and went ahead to Constance Ephelia area. The beach was just so therapeutic facing the mountainside.
On the end part of my video, I also shared our beach mode together after my trip from the Middle East which I missed swimming outdoor. Sage enjoyed burying me in the sand too.
After our beach day, I also had fun making my sandwich recipe lmao where I had experimented with beans, egg, ham and had a full dinner with it. I rarely spend time in the kitchen making dinner for my two boys as our cook is the best of all time, but then again it's the effort that counts right?

Sage will have his assessment before turning three next month and I am doing my best to reinforce his speaking, problem-solving skills. He's not much into writing nor reading yet but I know eventually he will acquire those skills needed for his entry into creche here. They started as early as three years old.
At the Childminding while they do most of the locomotor skills, I was amazed that one afternoon when we took him, he had two round painted stars on his wrist. He excitedly showed it to me and it was a reward for a job well done "painting" his hand and his foot. The other kids chose green and blue colours while Sage has the "orange." The way I looked at it was brown somehow!
I made sure during the weekends, we would have flashcards and some problem-solving skills games because at the end of the day, what is most important for him is to be able to figure out how we can withstand situations whereby he won't need mom or dad at all. I think it is very empowering even for children to be able to master problem-solving skills. In life, this is most crucial.
Nowadays when we wanted to put on his boxers or his shoes and socks, regardless if he didn't do it well, I would let him as far as he can go on with it likewise I would do a bit "fixing" for it but the point is that Sage has the initiative to learn it by himself.
I never had problems teaching him anything when it comes to words as well because he has the stamina to learn too. He loves to explore as much as he can just like how's curious he had been when we had our trip to Abu Dhabi. I made it a point to bring him out of the country for our family trip overseas so that he would see the other parts of the world which is the most practical lesson he can learn in life. His independence is quite amusing at an early stage too.
He also has the "voice" at home. For example, when it's lunchbreak as I have more time to prepare for his food, at times he would say, "mommy or daddy I want egg or chicken and chips, apple and milk!"
These are crucial for him knowing that he is given what he wanted to eat, although I wanted him to eat carrots as he doesn't like it raw, I would make an orange and carrot juice instead.
By the way, with his egg, if he wanted it "boiled", he won't consume the yellow part, only the white one. Weird right lol!

It was so cute having babies messing up around
when they're trying to explore so many things inside the house. I could still remember I loved how Sage's inquisitive nature even when he was around 4 or 5 months grabbing those items he thought was so magical and eventually after recognizing it was not as interesting as it may look, he would just throw or leave it away.
Of course at that time letting him just do things based on his learning stage was quite amusing and I thought, " oh wow I did a good job raising a child whose curiosity was kinda cute. Well not until he turned two!
Mess and so many disasters are everywhere around the house. Lol, I let him do the same thing whenever he wanted to play with his toys. I transformed the veranda as his playing area and put ALL his toys around for him to grab. Most of the "engineering" things he could play were also there yet he would still say, he's missing a thing or two. For example, when he wanted to build the garage or the parking area for those miniature toy cars" and when he realized a spare part was not there, he would start digging the other box until he would find what he was looking for but of course, the other "toys" were already everywhere just like how he did in his room here
Another thing that he wanted to put things together was the "puzzle" whereby he managed to solve it however when he got bored with it, leaving those tiny pieces anywhere was the next best thing and by the time he would need them, he said, "mommy where are my puzzles?" So here I was trying to figure out where on earth did the part of the puzzle my baby was looking for, checked the possible areas in the house, so exhausted and yet ended up with nothing.

Compiling our family time when we had our swimming session at Radisson Blu Pool which was a good bonding moment despite the restrictions to roam around Abu Dhabi due to the spiking cases of covid yet we thank God for the opportunity to travel. Sage enjoyed the pool so much that he doesn't want to go back to the room and I had to explain that there is curfew ongoing.
My baby seemed to be so engrossed at how FREELY he can splash the water and he may not know how to swim but just dipping himself in the water was more than enough. He's content on the simply joy the water has an effect on him as it was so relaxing.
On the other hand, I also took the courage to have my ME-TIME and it was so empowering to enjoy my own company, facing my FEAR of travelling alone. It was the first time as well that my baby and I were on talking each other over a video call.
My Travel Adventure for the second time around ALONE to Abu Dhabi gave me NEW PERSPECTIVE about myself. It was so personal to me that I needed to reunite with I had lost for six years, likewise whenever I feel like I am engulfed with fear and anxiety going out from my comfort zone, I would always go back to my mantra I tell myself that 'LIFE is so UNCERTAIN so we must FACE our FEARS and just TRAVEL!

“Oh no, Abu Dhabi? Are you joking? I will never travel there!” a friend of mine who was so flabbergasted even the thought of a barren region. His contemplation on it is more of an arid and desolate place. He travelled most of the time to Europe so I told him to pay a visit at least for a week in the Middle East and see how vast the world is.
As we were having our video calls a week after I arrived in Seychelles and had to chit-chat for his upcoming plan of venturing out to Canada, I was so thrilled to inform him about my recent adventure in the desert.
Shocked was an understatement when he found out that I travelled there TWICE last year and intentionally spent my NEW YEAR of 2022 in the dune! What in the world, why the desert Pat? “he asked in disbelief when I also mentioned I was ALONE! He told me he won’t dare step down in the desert because he’s petrified even pondering the Middle East.
According to him, there’s no vibe apart from the desert Safari and the customs of the country however when the pandemic hits the world, I told him there are so many things to appreciate on the enigma of an Arabian Peninsula.

"Life is so uncertain, so FACE your FEARS and just TRAVEL!" this has been my mantra whenever I feel like I am engulfed with fear and anxiety going out from my comfort zone here in the pristine island of Seychelles.
My 2021 has taught me so many great lessons in life and what hit me big time was the death of my father. In his last fatherly advice, he told me to see the world and I shall bring him with me in spirit. My father was supposedly be travelling to Seychelles had his situation allowed him to onboard but deep inside my heart, I knew he wanted to see the grandeur of God's blessings, one of which he loved to travel around.
Travelling during the pandemic can be very risky if not scary yet it truly gave me a NEW PERSPECTIVE for my 2022. At the end of the day, when we die, we have so many things to be grateful for in life because we have seen and emerged ourselves into the beauty hidden of the unknown. Can we truly assure ourselves that despite staying safe and healthy we would live for eternity? physically not but spiritually yes, so I believed in a most transcendental way.
Anyhow, I took the courage to travel for the second time to the Middle East ALONE and my husband has to understand I NEED a "ME TIME." It came to a point to settle our marriage crisis, I had to keep my DISTANCE and SPACE even for 12 days, it may not be enough but direly needed to what I call my "PEACEFUL TIME for MYSELF."
I was so excited to be on board via Etihad Airways whereby I was given a complimentary ticket for the biggest event in the Middle East, Expo2020 which was held in Dubai. There was a free bus ride and all we needed to show was our ticket, however, due to spiking cases as omicron was also very active during my trip, I cancelled my Expo plan but truly enjoyed my time in Abu Dhabi, getting lost in the middle of the desert and walking for two hours, asking for directions towards the Corniche Area.
It was a trip I would be forever grateful that I took the courage to be a solo traveller because for the past 6 years, travelling with my husband while he did all the talking at the immigration ( well at least here in Seychelles upon entry) I was so dependent how it would be travelling alone this time. I have realized that I have let myself be so dependent even on small things like packing our pieces of luggage and all I did was look at how he put everything in order.
Travelling solo has the great advantage of being independent and able to survive on your own regardless of the situation because you are solely dependent on YOURSELF.
January 1, 2022, that Sand Dunes Adventure at Al Q'uaa
I may have worked in Qatar for three years but I rarely had a real experience of what it was to walk through and to lie down on the dunes, to feed the camels and to enjoy the calmness of the Arabian Desert. There was a magical spell that drown me into it that I hardly took a video because I don't want to spoil the solemnity of the place.
Having witnessed the sunset on top of the highest dunes, gave me a great feeling of serenity while heaven opens up for that PEACEFUL moment for myself. I felt like I have conquered my fears and the uncertainties of everything else and at that moment alone what mattered was my communion with myself and with the place.
My Travel Adventure Gave me a New Perspective about Myself!
My travel adventure was so personal to me that I needed it to reunite with what I had lost. For 6 years of being so tolerant with everyone around me thinking that it was the best thing to do, later did I realize that it led me to lose my identity. The very practical example of travelling ALONE scared the hell out of me not because I am alone but because the inner voices of my younger self telling me the world is so scary, considering the pandemic not to mention venturing out in the desert, it's like beating my head against a stone wall. Even my family told me not to travel because it is risky, scary, dangerous, wasting money and so many other things.
I SHUT ALL OF THEM and took the courage to tell my husband that I NEEDED THIS TRAVEL FOR MYSELF. It was so empowering for me to finally show them that I wanted myself back and that I am responsible for my life. I am also very grateful to our ma @TigerLily/Dreemsteem and dada @BluefinStudios during our Uptrennd University whereby they both have enlightened me towards the direction of working for myself especially during my marital crisis. That lowest point of my life when ma @TigerLily shared that song from Casting Crowns "Just Be Held" until today whenever I felt like being dragged back to one of the darkest hours of my life, her words of wisdom always resonate and I'm ready to face my challenges again. I am forever grateful! She is such a wonderful soul and a blessing to everyone with whom she has touched each of our lives as she did with mine.

If you're the kind of nature-loving person who adored a simple walk with a nice breeze in the early morning, perhaps you're also pissed with the tortoise traffic, then stop by and take a good sip of pomegranate juice at the Botanical Garden situated in the town of Mahe but of course don't forget to tag along your family. I was never expecting that the Botanical Garden possessed a relaxing view by walking around heading towards the tortoise's haven or the Thai Garden at a nearby Wildflour Cafe brought a therapeutic effect on my nerves.
It was Sage's first exposure at the Botanical Garden as well. He enjoyed the area by walking, running, talking about it. I was glad that even if I have been living in Seychelles for almost seven years now, the first time I set foot in the place, I was blown away by its calming vibrant together with our baby. The very main reason why I wanted to visit there is to enjoy the view with our toddler.
Sage at nearly three years now loved to explore every place that he seemed to be so engrossed with. Just like fishing, he can't contain his happiness with the tortoises. As soon as he saw them, he wanted to come close but there's restriction so we just looked a them at a pace. On the video, as we were heading towards the place, his gesture to keep quiet amused me to the hilt. He felt the sanctuary and we could only hear the chirping of the birds too.
On the other hand, emerging myself with nature here in Seychelles can make me forget how I have grown up and worked in my entire life in the busy city-life whereby I don't have the time to take a brisk walk on a Monday. Life here is just so chill! Never on a Monday that I take my brisk walk back then because even if it's my holiday, I spend it working on my side hustles.
It's only when I lived here that I learned how to take a minute to have a reflexology walk at Roche Caiman, or take a dip in the beach, likewise sitting outside our veranda looking at the greeneries! Before, I never gave myself time to do all these things because I thought it was merely a waste of time. Now realization hit me hard, how I have wasted my time on those things that just made me more burned out.
This time around I learned to take a slow pace and savour what nature can give me in return when I pause for a while and simply stare at its beauty. The Botanical Garden is one of the places I would hang out with my baby and my hubby because these two are my gateway to a relaxing view.

Christmas is just right around the corner and, some decorations were already around the roadside of Roche Caiman roundabout. It was such a good walk checking the Santa Claus which, my baby called "Father Christmas" and ran everywhere.
What was funny to me was our moment back at the car because apart from his funny spider man shirt that looked so big on him yet, he doesn't care at all, at the same time told him I am also spiderman (woman) he doesn't agree with what I had said, insisted that I am a pink Power Ranger instead. Somehow when you are trying your best to communicate with your baby in their level of understanding can make the conversation more fun than ever.
It is one of the best moments I have had with my baby being a first-time mom knowing that he is more talkative and can agree or disagree with me at the same time, I was not able to prepare myself at nearly three years old, he has more conviction of what he wanted to do and on what he thought he knew. Sometimes his knowledge and on how he does things at home surprised me to the hilt.
Our Sunday fitness trail walk was shifted into taking pictures because this is Sage first Christmas in Seychelles. His first Christmas holiday was in my country whereby he had the chance to make memories with his grandfather for the first and the last time. I was a bit reflective documenting this video knowing, that my baby enjoyed those simple decorations yet, when his around eight months old, he had experienced more lightings back in the Philippines wherein his Lolo (grandpapa) Adonis had the opportunity to cuddle him and, they had taken a picture together
Sage first Christmas in his own country is special because he can enjoy those simple decorations and still found delight running, walking, talking and jumping around. The beauty being a toddler is able to experience joy, and as a parent, I couldn't be more grateful.

The weekend is our family bonding outside the comfort of our home, whereby we would have our road trip. Sage loved the idea of being outdoor most often so, if we won't spend it on the beach, then brisk walking at Roche Caiman was our usual activity. The three of us had our Reflexology walk as well and, we were content walking around those stones which have a healing effect on our feet. Our Saturday Adventure
However, this particular weekend alone, our baby asked for bananas so, we had to check around on the roadside because it is cheaper and you can bargain for the price.
We didn't see bananas nearby, ended going to the north side of the Beau Vallon area hoping, that we could find bananas. Lo and behold, they were a few bunches we bought, and as soon as Sage had them, he took three pieces right away. His simple joy by being with us, likewise very keen with what he saw around while taking our road trip somehow, made me feel how incredible the feeling of providing him with his baby needs and essentials.
After we took a brisk walk at the shoreline of Beau Vallon, where there were lots of tourists on the beach, we decided to go back to the main town and stopped by at the Flag pole area where we took some pictures of the Christmas lights and a hut of Santa Claus with a Coca Cola.
Then Sunday came...
Patrick decided to take his fishing equipment and, I thought he was joking when he said he would go fishing instead while Sage and myself would do our activities.
I couldn't stand for two hours waiting for fish. I did my on walking, jogging and playing ball with our baby on the other side.
Exactly, two hours that his dad called us and excitedly showed us what he caught that day. One small and a big fish! From the video, while we're still waiting for Patrick's catch, Sage happily sang his favourite song, " daddy finger, where are you!
We went home almost 7 in the evening, and I immediately made a quick fish soup! Pinoy way of cooking.

Sage's idea of hide and seek is to cover himself with a blanket whereby I would pretend that I would be looking for him. The room gets so messy because apart from the blanket, he would tell me to cover him with all the pillows available. He learned new skills at the Childminding when it comes to playing and many other things such as identifying a particular "dinosaur" which he called Tricetops and his famous "amblilance (ambulance) transport.
Likewise on a Saturday since his daddy is at work we decided to walk from our place to a nearby beach and along the way he enjoyed looking at the Bus passing by. He would eventually shout and say, "mommy Bus Tata! look"
As soon as we reached our destination, he couldn't contain his enjoyment swimming and chasing the crabs as well. We built a sandcastle and he's giggling whenever a wave would destroy it. At first, he's a bit annoyed but then, later on, got the idea that building a sandcastle when it's high tide would eventually wipe it away.
So we changed strategy by burying ourselves with the sand and the waves added more impact on it. We spent almost five hours and decided to go home before the lunch break. The beauty of bringing your baby for a beach day is that as soon as you reach home, he dozed off easily.
It's always a good way to bond with Sage on a weekend basis outside because he's more exposed to what's happening around his environment just like our recent travel in the Middle East whereby he had so much fun at Yas Beach where we stayed for 11 nights. Letting him experience the beach outside Seychelles gave him a more realistic sense of nature.

Two things that I would like to share in this video. First was the parcel I received earlier than expected as I ordered it via AliExpress. It's a cellulite slimming fat-burning machine whereby you can use even while driving, or working as long as you can connect to a power supply. It is very much handy knowing that my sauna belt has already expired and I have to order another one.
The idea was that my stretch marks of two years are still very much transparent although I was less bothered about it however gained a bit of weight, now I'm 53.9, not my ideal kg.
Out of excitement that I couldn't wait to go home to see how it looked as my hubby took it from the postal office and I was not so used to this "unboxing" stuff somehow.
Anyhow my main purpose in purchasing the slimming machine was to help me with my "motherly fat" despite my effort to do non-so-intensive workouts and Zumba because the idea of self-love must start to how I feel good about my weight. The truth of the matter is that I am not so used to my 53-55kg as I normally weigh 50kg. For me, Self-validation is a way to self-care and self-love and the more we expressed it, the more we could love our families, those people around us.
On the other hand, my take about the booster vaccine has nothing to do with any health concerns but mainly for traveling. When we went to Abu Dhabi for 12 days last month, I realized how crucial the kind of "vaccine" they are accepted before you can enter the shopping centers. I personally do not adhere to it but because I am still employed and I need to travel, I have left without an option after all.

Life is what we make it and our holiday to Abu Dhabi had given me a new perspective on how our existence is just so fleeting. LIFE IS SO UNCERTAIN indeed. I met a friend whom I haven’t seen in 7 years after we worked in the Middle East only to find out that she had experienced a very challenging situation while working in the desert.
Life could have been taken from her easily had she not have the courage to take things easy. Catching up with the time, our conversation was full of reflection, manifesting how the idealism of finding the balance between life and work as an ex-pat abroad.
One of the highlights on this video among the compilations I already uploaded was meeting our friends in Dubai with whom we haven't seen in such a longest time and meeting them in a foreign country made it so meaningful.
Likewise the idea that we set foot again in an Arabian Peninsula after 7 years felt so weird somehow yet full of learning experiences that in life facing our fears of travelling once again made a lot of sense.

Our usual weekend famday would always be at Roche Caiman, a park at the same time a sport center to teach Sage on his bike experience however today on a Saturday we ended up taking pizza and shawarma at a nearby pizza van in town whereby our baby as always loved to run around and his famous line of "taye taye" which means "run" in Creole French language has also become my favourite.
We went to Beau Vallon area as well to check how crowded the beach on the side and couldn't find a good parking space so we drove back to Marina Yacht in town.
Lo and behold we managed to order Sage's pizza and while waited for it, haha I couldn't help admired the ocean view right facing the park. It was not crowded at all despite if it's end of the month.
Take note here in Seychelles, weekend on basis especially end of the month which means "payday" would always be a hectic. insane crowded places much to say that it's also their Creole Festival so people were jampacked in most places especially the beach.

Having been able to travel during the pandemic is not only an opportunity for the whole family
likewise it's an affirmation that still it is safe to see the other parts of the world.
We had so much fun as our 31 months old Sage Alexander managed to enjoy his time
at Radisson Blu's swimming pool. He enjoyed having breakfast as well feeding those birds flying around.
We also had a relaxing time at Yas Beach whereby he doesn't care the roasting heat of the desert. I honestly felt
a bit weird having been able to step foot again in the Middle East.
We also had to take PCR test every 6 days to ensure that we are free from Covid likewise
we had to take another one 72 hours for our flight back to Seychelles.
Our adventure during the pandemic is a great way to enjoy together as a family.
It is with utmost joy seeing our baby who had so much fun shopping at Yas Mall
picking up his Paw Patrol toys.

We had a good staycation at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi for 12 days and we decided to chill around
Yas Beach, 10 minutes drive from the Hotel, Please know that even if we could go by foot should we decide
to have a walk around going the area, the temperature of 40 degrees won't allow us to do so. Anyhow when we reached Yas Beach, Sage's excitement to roam around the shoreline was
just so overwhelming and didn't bother the roasting weather.
As I was looking at the beach itself, and there's no point of comparison here in Seychelles somehow
the idea of swimming didn't even attract me at all. The swimming pool was tempting but Sage won't be able to
swim there as the children's area were on the other side of the beach.
We took him to the kids pool instead and there he got so mesmerized with the fountain somehow.
Despite the travel restrictions, we had a blast shopping, roaming around Abu Dhabi, catching up with friends
likewise taking PCR test every 6 days.
Still I would say it's SAFE to Travel these days just take precautionary measures as always.

Taking our holiday in Abu Dhabi this year gave me a new and broader perspective that we only have ONE SHOT in LIFE. So don't restrict yourself, face your fear and just travel.
We decided to catch up with friends in Dubai and as we took the metro, we were greeted with Sandstorm on the way to Deira City Center. Sage on the other hand had a very observant mode while taking his seat unknowingly that we purchased the Silver Card whereby I took this clip while we were in the Gold Class section.
Consider it like the Business and the Economy Class of an aircraft hence should there be random checking of cards, 3000 AED multiply to 3 would be the fine and I would say, we're still lucky.
We had a blast in Dubai however we couldn't stay long because Mia has a client to meet while Divine will prepare for her flight the next day. We took the bus going back to Abu Dhabi and we reached the hotel around 10;30 pm, exhausted but happy after all.
The next day, Sage just had his time at the pool after which we decided to go to Yas Mall to chill around, shopping for more items to bring back to Seychelles.

Basically whenever Sage has to learn new tricks or anything like mathematical activities,
I always incorporated it with games!
So at his playground area with sand, I decided to make cups out of it and before I had to
remove, Sage has to count one to ten.
He managed to count until ten and attempted until 20 but to no avail hehe!
He loved playing around with things, jumping with joy even with the simplest things
he accomplished just how he did with those cups out of sand.
The beauty playing around with my baby gave me an assurance that as a first time mom,
I am just doing the right thing when it comes to my baby's learning and his developmental
milestone is just in accordance to his growth. I don't pressure him at all to learn until 1 to 50,
starting with 1 to 12 or 10 is a good start.
