Our summer has been so rich with all the friends who have stopped by and shared their Psalms of hope! And today is no exception. We are loving spending this summer in the Psalms with you! This week Martha shares one of her favorites, Psalm 119. Written as an acrostic with the Hebrew alphabet, it is the longest chapter in the Bible, and it powerfully upholds the Word of God as our sufficiency. How amazing is it that the God of all creation would communicate his heart to us in His Word!

Rhodena is the Co-Founder and the US Program Director of Bridge Scholarship, an organization that provides Haitian college students a bridge to success through academics, leadership, training and English proficiency. Her "yes" to God led her to begin praying for missions and helping to raise funds for an orphanage in Haiti. God invited her to a bigger "yes" of going to Haiti herself, which led to many years of ministry there. As a potter, she knows the beautiful transformation we experience as we keep saying yes to the One who continues to shape and mold us.

Peace can seem elusive these days. In the headlines, in our relationships, in our grief, or in our Christmas plans, it feels like peace is slipping through our fingers. The profound reality of Advent is that we don't have to, nor can we, manufacture true peace. It comes to us in the person of the Prince of Peace. Our hope does not rest on the world getting its act together or in our circumstances being just right. Martha and Kim welcome Marquetta Smith to the podcast this week. Marquetta is a certified Christian counselor with a master’s in social work. Throughout her career, Marquetta has counseled many families and victims who suffered from some traumatic event in their life. With the desire to help families heal, in 2016-2017, Marquetta was led to start a nonprofit in Georgia called Safe Harbor, individuals and families are counseled, loved, trained, and equipped. This nonprofit provides individual and family restoration and healing from past traumas, situations, grief, loss, abuse, addictions, bullying, and so much more.
There is hope for your healing! Marquetta shares her story of finding God as her safe harbor and is passionate about helping others navigate towards Hope in Christ.

Jesus often pulled away from the crowds to be alone with His Father. His example to us is the theme of One Thing Worship Retreat, along with Psalm 27:4:
"One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple."
The Lord longs to speak to each of his children; sometimes, we need a sacred time and place to hear His voice above all the other voices.

Sarah began working for Fellowship Of Christian Athletes as a sports missionary, serving women and men of sport through speaking, writing, team chapels/Bible studies and building relationships. She has served in many roles with FCA including Women in Sports Director, University of Oklahoma Softball Chaplain (2023 National Champs), and NBA/NFL wives Chaplain. Her passion is studying God's word and teaching it. She's also the author of three books.
