I've lost so much time worrying about things that could happen or why I shouldn't do something.  I have spoken myself out of so many things.  Most of the time I get stuck and 9/10 times the fear becomes paralyzing and all consuming.  Today I'm trying to say yes to things I said no to and no to things I previously have said yes to.  I'm opening myself up to new experiences and even though they are scary and I'm so far out of my comfort level, my comfort level is shifting and I'm having the time of my life.  Scared but doing it anyway.

This is a poem I wrote to help raise awareness about tinnitus it affects almost 40 - 79 million people - 15 - 20% of the US population.  It is unrelenting, debilitating, there is NO CURE.  It is unrelenting it's greatest impact on those suffering is their mental health - including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and dementia, and can trigger episodes of extreme anger and suicidal ideation. Anhedonia and suicide.  We can make a difference, share this podcast, let's get the word out there and make some noise so we can get funding spur research and find a cure.  Thank you for being a part of my journey.

In this episode HeidE shares how other people's actions can take us back to that place and bring back feelings of past experiences, traumas and ouches.  The challenge is how do we feel feelings without hurting ourselves or others in the process especially when they are painful, confusing, mean and uncomfortable.  As an addict my first response is to fill that void, change how I feel whether it's food, drugs, alcohol, people, shopping, anger, passive agressiveness and how long do I want to marinate in the problem and stay stuck suffering.  There is another option looking for the learning, using it as an opportunity for growth so it can't hurt us again.
