Our guests showcase their love for and the importance of these beautiful animals and the need for shark conservation through facts and experiences, not fear or fiction.
Great white sharks galore!!! Our chat with Dr. Greg Skomal continues this week as we get to learn about shark movement ecology and deep diving, geology for some reason, unique thermal physiology, kind of all the -ologies actually. Come learn about sharks with me because I just can’t get enough of these fin-credible animals! Greg also gives us an inside look at what a day searching for great white sharks is like.

We get to learn how he went from zero to hero in the shark world, how sharks are aged, why he loves what he does, and how contagious his passion for sharks and the ocean are. Lions, sand tigers, and bears, oh my! Ok, well only sand tigers (a common large aquarium shark), no lions or bears… Aquariums are one of the big influences that got me hooked on sharks and marine science, and today we get to talk to one. Amber Wright is an animal caretaker and researcher at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. She tells us about her love for all animals and how aquariums contribute to a better understanding of the animals (more specifically sharks for this podcast) so they can be cared for in the best possible way.
