Welcome back to the bored walk. This is Sunny (she/her) and I'll be your host.

I'm so excited to bring you season 2 of the bored walk and to continue inspiring you with meditation and conversations that I have with some of the people who motivate me the most and keep me moving, keep me feeling better and keep me plugging into community. I hope they motivate you to do the same!

The first episode of season 2 is with my good friend, Aaron Robinson (he/him): meditation coach, podcaster, artist, multi-creative. We cover a lot of ground and I hope that you stick around for the whole conversation because we go everywhere from:

  • exploring the depths of self: we go hella deep
  • fitness and health and how all that we have is our health
  • change and transformation
  • letting go of convincing people of our brilliance
  • Berlin, Germany

I'm sure you won't get bored.

You might want to take this episode with you on a walk or perhaps you heat up some tea and get comfy and let us keep you company.

Thanks for being here and thanks for being you!

I hope you enjoy this conversation!

Welcome to The Bored Walk. I’m Sunny and I’ll be your host. What started as a remote, leisurely walking club has since expanded into this podcast: intended to get you moving more, feeling better and plugging into community one step at a time.

On the 9th episode of the bored walk I got to sit down with the a woman who serves her community with fresh eyes and a compassionate heart.

Rachel Brooks is the founder and owner of Seeking Space Yoga Studio in SW Portland, Oregon. She is committed to a judgement-free all welcoming studio focused on health, Body positivity, gender inclusion and ethnic diversity as a baseline.

We sat next to each other in the community room at her studio and conversed about how her experience in the service industry has informed her decisions now as an entrepreneur, paving ones own path, equitable spaces and more.

You might want to take this one on a walk.

On the 8th episode I got to sit down with my friend and fellow bored walker, Dan Ainson.

Dan is trans masculine and although a newer friend, I can already say he makes transitions look easy and graceful. On this podcast he gives us some incredible insight from his many transitions in life. He even walks us through injecting his weekly testosterone dosage, so if have an aversion to the talk of needles, consider this your warning.

We sat next to each other on his living room couch in NE Portland with his dogs Micah and Turbo nearby.

You might want to take this one on a walk and join us as we talk about the magic of the unknown, transitions, mirror work and stepping into oneself.

Blair is a folk-pop singer/songwriter based in Portland, Oregon whose music helps us all feel less alone.

We sat next to each other on her sunny back porch in NE Portland. Nori, her cat, was staying cool under Blair’s seat. Our Throat coat teas were at the brim of our cups.

You might want to take this one on a walk and join us as we talk about stepping outside of comfort zones, processing big feelings, taking action, and hope for the future. Oh and of course her new album and upcoming west coast tour.

Welcome to The Bored Walk. I’m Sunny and I’ll be your host. On the 5th episode of The Bored Walk I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with fellow bored walker, Denise Williams. Denise is a licensed addictions counselor who has made a significant impact on the mental health of people in the Portland area with her free counseling for those with low to no-income through her organization, Confronting the Storm. She’s also won our hearts and our bellies with her generosity and delicious TRAP cake.

Listen to our conversation which took place right outside her son’s coffeeshop, Deadstock coffee, where we talked about the importance of self-care, the benefits of walking, and the power of community. You’ll feel like you’re right in the middle of old town. You might even take us on a walk with you. Enjoy.

This is a walking meditation about being present with the world before you.

"A monk asked a Zen master, 'Teach me the essence of Zen.'

The Zen Master answered, 'Attention.'

'What else?' asked the hungry monk.

The Zen Master replied, 'Attention, attention.'

'There has to be something more,' the disconcerted monk demanded.

'Attention, attention, attention,' said the teacher."

We often default to searching for complicated and elaborate solutions to our modern day problems, but often times it comes down to something so simple - Be awake, be aware.
