Welcome to the Miss To Mrs Mindset Podcast, a show to help you navigate wedding planning without losing yourself in the process. I’m Sarah, the accessory designer behind Elsa Rose Boutique, where I celebrate the authentic women behind the bride title. These episodes will be short and sweet to help you overcome wedding planning overwhelm, create space in your mind and feel supported - you’re not alone!
Happy new year! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on trends - how they may help or hinder us in our wedding planning, validate or shame us and why nobody talks about what really matters when choosing elements for your wedding day. I’d love to know if you are or have been influenced by trends when planning your wedding day, and whether that feels or felt natural to you - come and respond on my question sticker and let me know! If you’re new to wedding planning or are new to this whole world of wedding fairs/fayres/showcases/exhibitions (side note, they’re all the same thing!) then this is for you! If you suffer with anxiety, it’s nice to have some sense of control when we tackle new things so I’ve put together this guide to help you plan for attending a wedding fayre, what to expect while you’re there and what to do afterwards. I did forget to mention about how to find wedding fayres in your area (sorry!) - check out Facebook, Google “wedding fayres” or look out for banners advertising events in your local area to see what’s going on near you. If you found this episode helpful, please share it with a friend or leave me a rating - both are always very much appreciated! Questions or comments? Today I’m explaining what wedding directories are and how you can use them as a resource in your wedding planning to streamline your process. In this episode I’ll share the difference between general and niche directories and give an insight into the resources they have on offer for you. They’re all free for you to access with a wealth of resources, so I hope you discover one that’s a good fit for you! I’ve not been paid to speak about any of the directories I mention today, but have chosen them based on my own experience of using them as a bride or wedding supplier. For reference, I mention: Bridebook, Hitched, Guides for Brides, The Boho Bride Guide, Rock n Roll Bride, Pretty and Punk Weddings and Green Union. If you have any other suggestions of directories you’ve found useful, send me a message and let me know! You can also reach me on Instagram @elsaroseboutique, or email me at sarah@elsaroseboutique.com. This episode follows on from my recent article about my experience working with The Boho Bride Guide on my website, elsaroseboutique.com. Happy listening!
I’ve been MIA on here for a few months so I thought I’d share a bit more about everything that’s been going on and celebrate the highs and share the lows of 2022. One thing I hear so many brides saying is how overwhelmed they are. In fact, overwhelm can creep in at any point of the wedding planning journey (and beyond too!), so knowing how to manage those times can help you to be less hard on yourself. In this episode, I share my thoughts on why we get overwhelmed during wedding planning and some tips on how to manage when we feel that way, along with some stories from my personal experience. In this post I mention this post: https://www.elsaroseboutique.com/blog/6-ways-to-overcome-wedding-planning-overwhelm for those of you who like a written reference, and I also mention the app Stardust (I’m not affiliated, I just use it myself!), available from your App Store. As always, you can reach me on Instagram @elsaroseboutique or by email to sarah@elsaroseboutique.com. Let me know how you found this episode or send me ideas for future shows, I’d love to hear from you!
Have you thought about how you’re going to take care of yourself on your wedding day? I know it sounds a bit strange as you’ll have people around you all day, but it’s worth planning ahead, particularly if you struggle with your mental health or live with a chronic condition. In this episode, I’m sharing how I (badly!) navigated my wedding day with type 1 diabetes, how my need to people please came higher on my list than looking after myself and things I wish I’d done differently. All the thoughts here are my own and I’m not a medical professional, so if you need support with a condition on your wedding day, please speak with your medical team who will be able to give you the best advice. I’ll be sharing a few tips to think of now in preparation for your wedding day so you can take the stress off a little and make the most of your day together! Where do you even start with planning a wedding? Trust me, you’re not alone in this because I was asking the same thing myself (and felt the pressure really early on). In this episode, I’m taking you through a logical order for booking suppliers, along with some tips for finding the right people to make up your dream team.
