Today, our guest is Zavon Hines, a former professional footballer who played for the likes of West Ham United, Coventry City, Bradford City and Dagenham & Redbridge. Zavon now coaches at West Ham United’s Academy of Football.

Firstly, Zavon gives us a detailed description of his journey into football from being born in Jamaica and moving to the UK to then making his Premier League debut for West Ham United. He speaks about his loan move to Coventry which helped him develop. We speak about his memorable games such as his last-minute winner against Aston Villa in 2009 and the famous West Ham v Millwall game. Today, our guest is Phoebe Schecter, the first-ever British female NFL coach, she is also captain and linebacker of GB Women’s American Football Team.

Firstly, Phoebe details how her move to England 8 years ago inspired her to play American Football. From someone who had not played a contact sport, she fell in love with American Football. Her passion led her to take on various coaching roles at the college level and through the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, she successfully received an offer to become coaching intern for the Buffalo Bills offseason and after impressing was invited back by the Head Coach to remain for the whole 2018 NFL season. She describes her relationship with the players, Head Coach Sean McDermott and her initial thoughts when going into a male-dominated sport. She also speaks about the progression of star QB Josh Allen from his rookie year to now and advises women who hope to break through within the sports industry.
