When to plant spinach in India?
The sowing season for spinach plants is long, stretching from the last week in November through March of the following year.
Does spinach need soil to grow?
Yes! You will need moist but well-drained soil to grow spinach. Drier soils produce poor germination rates and stunts the growth process. Organic soil which is neither an acidic soil or an alkaline soil is the best choice. Cool soil is healthy soil. Use an adequate amount of organic compost in garden soil.
What should I use to sow spinach seeds?
Sow spinach seeds directly into pots filled with rich composted organic matter. Make sure to keep the seedlings moist until they germinate.
Can I grow spinach in containers?
Yes, but you may have to water them more frequently than if you were growing them in the ground.
How do I know when my spinach is ready?
It is best to harvest spinach before its first true leaves appear. This way, you'll reduce the risk of damaging tender young leaves. Don't let them grow fresh seed or flower. Too many hours of sunlight can cause spinach plants to seed quickly. Avoid a sunny spot for the plants. Ensure good soil, indirect sunlight and regular watering to get larger leaves. Harvest spinach crops them fully before late spring.
How to store spinach?
Store spinach leaves in bags in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
How do you grow spinach in soil?

FAQ on Creepers Vs Climbers
Can creepers be climbers?
Yes, if you mean by ‘creeper’ plants that climb using stem tendrils or vines.
Are there any benefits to planting creeper plants?
It depends on what you want out of your garden. If you want a low-maintenance garden where your vegetables will not compete with your flowers, then it would make sense to choose creeper plants. However, if you prefer a more colorful garden, then you might consider choosing climbers.
How does a climber plant differ from a creeper?
The difference between climber and creeper plants in general is, a creeper grows horizontally, while a climber climbs vertically. A creeper generally has a delicate stem, but a climber tends to have thicker stems. A creeper spreads out over a larger area, while a climber tends to grow much closer together.
What are the advantages of planting creeper plants over climbing plants?
If you want an easy way to get fruit off your tree without having to climb it yourself, then creeper plants are probably the best choice. You can simply cut down the branches at the desired height and let your creeper do all the work!
Which is better, climbing or a creeper plant?
Both types of plants offer their own unique set of benefits. They both provide a great deal of interest to the gardener, which makes them a good option for any type of garden. For example, they are both attractive to butterflies and birds, so they can add beauty to any outdoor space. And, because they are both rooted in the ground, they can be used to create a beautiful element in any landscape since there are ornamental plants as well.
Do I need to prune my creeper plants? How often should I prune them?
Pruning is important for keeping your creeper healthy. It helps reduce the spread of disease and encourages new growth. As long as you remember to prune regularly, you shouldn't have to worry about damaging your creeper plants.

Plant Insects
Insects are a nuisance to gardeners everywhere. They cause damage, destroy crops, spread diseases, and even pose a threat to human health. The good news is that they don't come out at night or hide under rocks. Pest control is simple. To have healthy plants, all you need to do is get rid of them before they ruin your plants
There are many pests in our gardens. Some of them are beneficial insects that eat harmful bugs. Others are destructive insects that cause damage to the plants. Some are both helpful and destructive. Good bugs like ladybugs, bees, dragonflies help keep the bad bugs at bay and play a role in plant health. Plant pathogenic pests like mealy bugs, aphids, root-feeding insects like grubs, leaf miners harm the plants and affect plant health. Many plant-mediated interactions between insects, either direct interactions or indirect interactions, play a crucial role in balancing the ecosystem.
As a way of natural selection, plants have developed certain plant defense responses like a waxy layer, thorns, trichomes, etc., Certain plants have defensive compounds, either primary metabolites or secondary metabolites, which are toxic to the insects as a response to insect attack. These plant defense responses have been developed through the process of evolution.
The Good Bugs
The good bugs are those who eat bad bugs who harm the plants. They are usually solitary and found on any plant ready for the attack. Some of them help you in different ways like helping you in pollination or soil condition.
The Bad Bugs
The bad bugs are the pests that harm the plants by eating them. They feed on the leaves, stems, flowers, fruits, roots, etc. Sometimes they may even suck the sap from the stem and cause plant damage. These insects are nocturnal and usually seen during the daytime. They can be found in a variety of habitats, including urban areas, parks, gardens, orchards, etc.

Pomegranate
Originally known to have been a native of Persia, it is now cultivated all over the world. It travelled along with the silk traders who planted it all along their trade route. It reached India several hundred years ago and now it’s a garden commoner valued for its fruit and ornamental value. Peeling the pomegranate is a task, but once you get to the juicy seeds, you forget about all the pain you took to peel it and you get reminded as to why it is called the Jewel fruit. I personally like to eat it in its raw form. Some people like it as juice and in their cooking. Either way Pomegranates are delicious.
People from the northern part of India will be familiar with anardhana. They are used to add the acidic flavors in chutneys and curries. Ayurveda uses it extensively for treating diarrhea, dysentery and internal parasites. The seeds and juice are also considered a tonic for the heart and throat.
In Hindu tradition, pomegranate signifies prosperity and fertility. In Tamil, it is called as maadulampazham, which means a woman's mind. The seeds being hidden are associated with the difficulty in deciphering a woman’s mind. The Parsis use its twigs to make their sacred broom. When a Parsi child is invested with the sacred thread, Pomegranate seeds are thrown on him to scare evil spirits away. Parsis squeeze the juice into the mouth of the dying.
There is an interesting fable about the pomegranate tree. A king on his travels, stopped at a garden with the hope of wetting his parched throat. This garden happened to be a pomegranate orchard. Amazed by the ripe fruits the king requested the gardener to give him a glass of pomegranate juice. The gardener went to his hut and returned with a glass of fresh, red pomegranate juice. As the king relished the juice, he started observing the trees in the garden. His cunning mind told him to start levying taxes on orchards because orchard owners might be making a good profit. By this time, the gardener was aware of the king’s intentions. The king asked for another glass of pomegranate juice. The gardener got him a glass but only with a few drops of juice. The king was infuriated by this and asked the gardener about the juice. The gardener replied, “It is simple my lord. Our king has a large heart. He lets the fruit grow wild and everyone partakes of it. The fruit knows it has his blessing, so it gives of its juice generously. Today, the fruit has felt that the king wishes to impose a tax on it. So it feels that the blessing has passed from it. And its juice has dried up.” The king understood what was going on and felt guilty of his greedy thoughts. The next glass of juice was filled till the brim with delicious juice.
Pomegranate fruits throughout the year in India. All parts of the plant like the fruit, seeds, rind, bark, stem, leaves and flowers are used extensively for their medicinal properties.

There are over 400 species of ferns found around the world. Some of them are edible, such as bracken, ostrich fern, and maidenhair fern. They are very easy to grow and maintenance. They prefer to have the top layer of soil moist.
Money plant
Money plants are very popular because they're easy to care for and grow quickly. They're also known as money plants because they make money when you water them. They are also called air plants because they thrive in humid conditions. Unlike other houseplants, philodendrons require little maintenance. They don't need much water and only need indirect diffused sunlight of 2-4 hours during the day.
Syngonium
Arrowhead vines are very hardy plants that will thrive indoors or outdoors. They are a popular type of houseplant, that are easy to care for and will bloom year after year. Medicinal garden
What is a medicinal garden? How does it differ from a regular garden?
The term 'medicinal garden' refers to a garden where plants are grown specifically for their medicinal properties. They include herbs, spices, fruits, vegetables, and flowers.
A medicinal garden is a great way to get started growing your own food. It's also a fun hobby that can teach you valuable lessons about gardening.
The first thing I recommend is to start small by choosing a few herbs and vegetables that you enjoy eating. Then, choose a spot where you'll be able to grow them. If you're new to gardening, it might help to read some of our blogs on how to start a garden.
While there are hundreds of medicinal plants and a wide variety to choose from and grow at home, here are a few you can consider having in your garden:
Aloe vera
Aloe vera is used to treat many different conditions including heartburn, aging, diabetes, psoriasis, and burns. It is also used to treat other skin problems such as dandruff and minor burns
Vinca rosa
Diabetes is cured by using whole plants. Leaves are used to cure body swelling
Basil
Basil is an herb that adds a distinct aroma and flavor to food. It contains essential oils that can be used as aroma ingredients in food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Basil leaves contain powerful antiviral, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Basil also acts as an insect repellent.
Lemon tree
Vitamin C in Lemons helps prevent scurvy, but also treats colds and flu. Common colds and flu are treated with vitamin C. Tinnitus is treated with vitamin C. Ringing in the ears is treated with vitamin C and zinc. Stomach upset and vomiting from pregnancy is treated with vitamin C, iron and folic acid. Kitchen gardens
How often do you go out to get fresh vegetables from the supermarket? If you don’t have time or energy to spend hours in the kitchen preparing meals, then growing your own food might be the solution.
In recent years, home gardening has become very popular. People are starting to realize the benefits of having their own vegetable garden. They can enjoy fresh produce without spending much time or effort.
Kitchen Gardening is a great way to save money and eat healthier. There are several ways to start a vegetable garden. The key is to choose the right plants and design your garden accordingly. If you want to start a vegetable garden, then you need to know how much space you have available for planting vegetables. The first thing you should do is measure the area where you plan to plant vegetables. Then, you should prepare the soil by adding organic matter such as compost or manure. Next, you should add fertilizer to the soil. Finally, you should plant seeds in rows.
Dill is a member of the carrot family. It is a cool-season annual herb that grows best in areas with mild winters. It is widely cultivated throughout Europe and North America. Dill is a good choice for a kitchen garden because it is easy to grow and doesn't require much space. It thrives in poor soils and can even thrive in sandy soil.
Tomatoes are easy to grow and can be grown from seedlings or transplanted directly into the ground. They have a long season of production and produce many fruits throughout the year. Tomatoes are used for fresh consumption and are often processed into sauces, soups, and other dishes.
Peppers are easy to grow and require little maintenance. They are a great addition to any garden, and they provide a good amount of vitamins and minerals. Peppers are usually eaten raw or cooked, but some varieties are pickled.
Eggplants are easy to grow and are a popular vegetable that has a long season of production. They are a good source of vitamin A and C, fiber, and iron. Eggplants are usually cooked and eaten either raw or roasted.
Cucumbers are easy to grow from seed, and they can be grown indoors or out. They do best in full sun but tolerate partial shade. You can start cucumbers off indoors about four weeks before your last frost date. Keep them well watered until they have two sets of true leaves. Then transplant into larger containers and continue to water regularly. Harvest when they reach 6 inches long.
Peas are easy to grow from fresh seeds, and they can easily be started indoors about eight weeks before your last frost, although some varieties may require direct sowing outdoors. If you live in a cold climate, you may want to sow peas directly outside after the last frost. Keep them well-watered until they have three pairs of true leaves. Then move them to larger pots and continue to water regularly until they flower. Pick the pods frequently and dry them immediately. Store them in a cool, dark location.
Kitchen gardening is a great way to help your family eat healthier while saving money. It also provides a fun activity for kids. There are many different ways to garden in your kitchen. Some people grow herbs and vegetables in pots on the countertop. Others grow them in planters on the windowsill. Still others grow them as a container garden on the patio. Whatever method you choose, growing food in your own home is a great way to reduce costs and improve health. Just make sure you use fertile soil and the soil mixture is is soft soil and loose soil which will help your veggies grow well.

How do you create a rock garden at home?
A rock garden is an arrangement of rocks in a natural setting, usually on a hillside or mountainside. They can be used for landscaping purposes, or simply admired for their beauty.
A rock garden helps keep soil surface moist and provides nutrients for plants. It also adds beauty to your yard.
A rock garden provides a place for children to play outside and learn about nature. It also helps teach them about plants and animals.
A rock garden is a beautiful way to add color and texture to any outdoor space. The best part about making a rock garden is that it is easy to create and maintain. All you need is some rocks, plants, and soil.
A rock garden can be made from any kind of rocks, such as granite, limestone, sandstone, etc. The best way to create a rock garden is to use small stones, which are easy to find. To make the garden look natural, you should plant some grasses around the rocks.
How do you create a rock garden at home?
Find a large area in your garden that can hold your rocks. You want something that is deep enough to allow water to drain out but not too big that you have trouble moving around. If you are using concrete, you may need to use a trowel to dig out the holes for the rocks.
Fill the space with clean river sand or other good quality potting mix. This will help keep the dirt from getting into the cracks between the rocks.
Add some soil mix over it.
Organic fertilizer application can be done if required.
Sprinkle some grass seeds over the soil.
Start filling the space with large stones. Try to get them close together so they don't fall through the holes and create a tight space.
Add a second layer of medium stones over the first layer of large stones.
Add pebbles to bring beauty to your rock garden as a third layer.
Once you have filled the space, add a layer of gravel on top of the rocks as needed.
Water well and wait! Your rock garden should start sprouting roots after about two weeks and ready to enjoy.
