This season, in partnership with AWARE, explores stories of people who have spent time in the migrant farmworker community. Stories Unearthed: Migrant Farmworkers follows five migrant farmworkers (Stan, Eddie, José, Jesús, and Daniel) who were interviewed by high school students about their lives and work, to better understand the experiences of members of our community who we may not otherwise know. Join us and listen in on conversations, stories, and calls to action from the interviewees, and broaden your perspective alongside the student hosts.
This podcast's student hosts, Emma Stentz and Ryan Cowell, interviewed Eddie. He was born and raised in a farm working community in Texas with his family, who had emigrated from Mexico not long before he was born, and ended up heading to MSU for college where he graduated from. Today, he works for the automotive industry in Michigan. From his life as a farm worker to his goals for a higher education, Eddie shares his life stories, insight, and hopes for the future in our three-part series.

This podcast’s student hosts, Simran Sharma and Evan Kuster, interviewed Stan Muñoz. While he was born and raised in Mexico up until the age of fourteen, Stan and his family initially moved to the United States to a small town in Texas. Later, Stan and his family migrated to work in the fields of Wyoming. Upon graduating from Michigan State University and earning his Masters degree from the University of Texas in Austin, Stan began working with the US Department of Agriculture. In this two-part series, Stan opens up about his experiences in the migrant farmworker community and shares lessons and wisdom we can all learn from.
