Skagit Speedway made a triumphant return to the Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly program in 2022, a season that also saw the debut of the Skagit Aggregates Survive The 55 event. This unique event, with its grand prize of $10,000. Rick Smith, a familiar face at the Alger, Washington facility, has a history of success in the Late Model, Sprint Car, and Friesen Performance IMCA Modified ranks.
In fact, he was the first driver to win a sanctioned championship since the facility's last time had IMCA, in 1997. Timothy Allerdings, a resident of Prescott Valley, Arizona, is living his dream of racing for a career. His journey is a testament to his resilience and determination. He started running Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods while in the Air Force, stationed in California. Today, he competes in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, a transition that was not without its challenges. He has been making a name for himself in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region scene in California and Oregon. We had the opportunity to speak with him before Memorial Day Weekend for the R. Charles Snyder Salute, where he shared insights about his decision to go on the road, the arduous transition from Sport Mods to Modifieds, his racing number, and more!

The race will pay $4,000 to win and $600 to start courtesy of NAPA Auto Parts. Get your weekend started with a really nice feel-good story about a young man who continues to defy the odds and overcome the obstacles that have come his way. Brody Sim made his triumphant return to Sprint Car racing last Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway as a last-minute fill in driver. The last time he was in the cockpit he left in an ambulance in May of 2021 and suffered some pretty serious injuries. The Western Sprint Tour returns to action on Monday night at Cottage Grove Speedway to touch off Speedweek Northwest-South. Starting in Oregon, the tour will head south, eventually concluding in Placerville, California. Three new tracks will debut on this Speedweek: Douglas County Dirt Track, Silver Dollar Speedway, and Placerville Speedway. In just a few weeks, there will be some big paydays with the ASCS-Frontier Region in Montana. Big Sky Speedway will pay $12,012 to win the Harvey Ostermiller Memorial on August 25th and 26th and is expected to draw a huge car count. Then Labor Day weekend will be another good one as the historic Montana Round Up takes place at Electric City Speedway from September 1st through the 3rd. $10,000 will be given to the driver that can best the field on that Sunday.
