It all started with me wanting to incorporate DEI into my music classroom. After no luck finding illustrations of BIPOC musicians for my classroom, I created the illustrations myself! I soon came to realize that I can contribute more which has led me to launch this podcast. Starting this podcast is my contribution in showcasing music diversity in the arts by featuring today’s BIPOC musicians. Bio:
Shane Colquhoun, Ph.D., is a Grammy-nominated music educator with a diverse musical background in music education and music production. Shane is the Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Contemporary Music Styles at Alabama State University. He has published in General Music Today, the Media Journal in Music Education, and is the author of The Producers of Pop: A Comprehensive Plan for Studying Popular Music Producers.Bio:
