Final friday pod for at least a few fridays!
We've come full circle, with the man who helped us get the show off the ground last year. Show-runner Luke Gardiner is guest host alongside Adam and Emily.
This week we delve into some of the drama sorrunding MP resignations in the commons and what they mean, as well as a catch up on the lack of global economic crisis due to a debt ceiling deal being reached in the U.S. Everyones' talking about it, everyone's been waiting for our takes, we finally weigh in on the Philip Schofield Drama.
Next we look to what's been happening and what will be happening over our little break, with special guest and best friend of the pod Bailey back for what will be his final show. We focus on the circus of shit that is the Republican Presidential Primary, as well as the ongoing Covid Inquiry Drama.
Finally, we're all burnt right out of fucks. Emily, Bailey and Luke must work together to give out their final few.
A&E Politics is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray, with guest hosts this week Luke Gardiner and Bailey. We're back, and this time it's our Penulimate Pod (Of the Uni Year, We'll explain the future of the show next week!)
This week Adam and Emily are joined by Tom and debutant Jack, lead singer of indie-pop band Outline.
First we deflate your mood by talking at length about inflation and supermarket price caps, as well as the debt ceiling in America and the latest developments in the on-going Boris Johnson psychodrama.
Then we turn to a long discussion about protest songs and political music, featuring various artists from UB40 to Sam Fender to the Specials. Adam also works in Bastille, because of course he does.
Listen along to the protest songs (THIS IS A LINK)!
Finally, we want to get to know Jack better, so we play a few rounds of "Is it jack? or is it wack?" to discover more about Mr Outline.
The outro music to the show is 'Candid' by Outline, you can find the single here (Spotify).
A&E Politics is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray, with guests this week Jack Bateman and Thomas Lowe. A&E Politics is produced by Adam Wright, Emily Gray, Sumayyah Ali, Amy Joy and Thomas Lowe, and it's edited by Adam Wright. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath Production.

This week Adam and Emily are joined by Bailey and (Topless) Tom to discuss the new challengers in the American Presidential Race, the situation in Cardiff as well as the net migration figures and what they mean.
TORY SCANDAL? Who knew? We discuss the ongoing Boris Johnson drama and Suella and her speeding. Raab is out, we just take a moment to revel in that feeling.
Then, due to the death of the legendary Tina Turner on Wednesday Evening, Emily's 'Simply the test' provides a classic example of why Emily never makes the games.
A&E Politics is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray. This week's guests were Thomas Lowe and Bailey. The show is produced by Adam Wright, Emily Gray, Thomas Lowe, Sumayyah Ali and Amy Joy. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath Production.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us, and for listening to the show week after week. We do this all for free so the fact we have a bit of an audience who enjoys what we do is incredible.
This week, coronation watch? We've just witnessed a historic event, and most of us couldn't really care less. We break down the coronation and why robes should be brought back. Then we discuss the Eurovision song contest, and Donald Trump being held accountable for something?? (Well, kind of..)
Local Elections! This is the kind of stuff that gets us - AWARD WINNERS - excited. We break down the results, and what they might mean come future elections.
Finally, his royal highness, the philosopher in chief has been crowned. We go through a couple of his deepest and affecting quotes.

On this, a coronation week, Adam and Emily are joined by the wonderful Lucy Acheson and the debutant Amy Joy. We discuss floppy Starmer, the Labour Party and principles. Then we move on to look at the dire situation in Sudan.
It's the coronation, hold onto your bunting! We discuss how we all feel about the Coronation, the monarchy as a legacy of colonialism, and why Olly Murs is actually really good live?? Speaking of legacies, the coronation tends to drop hot new recipies. We discuss the Coronation quiche and why it's a woke vegan disaster??
Finally, we put ourselves into the minds of right wing nutters to figure out what we should all be mad about. Turns out, its transgender penguins???
A&E Politics is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray. This weeks guests include Lucy Acheson and Amy Joy. The show is produced by Adam Wright, with help from the SA: Sumayyah Ali and contributor: Thomas Lowe. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath production.

Unlike like your emergency alert, we're arriving exactly on time with a new pod!
This week Adam and Emily are joined by Sumayyah and Bailey to discuss Biden's re-election campaign kickoff and the - quite frankly gross - letter Diane Abbott wrote and its reprecussions.
Then we eulogise Dominic Raabs pathetic political career, and discuss the fallout from the report into his behaviour regarding civil servants and bullying allegations. We take great enjoyment in his downfall. Adam's Dad then hops on the mic to read us a Raab-esque poem.
Keeping with the theme of horrible people being kicked out of power, White Supremacist Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News. Sumayyah quizzes us on some of his hottest (most vile, racist, sexist, homophobic etc) takes.
A&E Politics is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray, and is produced by Adam Wright. This week's guests include Sumayyah Ali and Bailey. Sumayyah Ali is the SA, and Tom Lowe is a contributor. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath Production.

However, best friend of the Pod Lily Goddard is Running the London Marathon this Sunday for the CF Trust. Lily is the most wonderful and inspirational person, and any donations would go to a fantastic cause and support a fantastic person.
On this weeks show! Scotland has some drama, turns out Nicola might not be as squeaky clean as we all wanted her to be. Then we turn to the Trump arrest, what he's charged with and what it might mean. Then we discuss Biden's visit to Ireland and the Good Friday Agreement.
VOTING! You should do it. The local elections are the 4th of May! We discuss how they work, where and how to vote and why you defintely should.

It's our penulimate show (this term)!
Turns out the longer pods are here to stay, as Adam, Emily and Sumayyah release Bailey for the week (His cage is being cleaned and he was making quite a racket about it).
We finally talk through the budget, we know you've been on the edge of your seats! We also tackle Suella's little school trip to Rwanda, as well as the deeply concerning report into the Metropolitan Police.
We delayed our recording to catch Johnson's testimony into the party-gate probe! We walk through the scandal, what Johnson said in the testimony, and wonder how we all got here.
Finally Super Sumayyah hosts a game of 'Fill in the Blank' (We really gotta work on these names), who will prevail??

It's our 10th episode! I hope you amubushed us with some cake!!
How are we celebrating? With a fucking huge discussion about American Politics (this is what Adam does for fun).
Adam and Emily are joined by the tangy Tom Lowe to discuss the BBC drama over the weekend. Emily even lets Adam talk about football for about 30 seconds. Then we cross the picket to discuss the UCU and Junior Doctors strikes, as well as the general state of the UK.
It's budget day! or... it was when we recorded this, but we did so before the budget actually came out.... so Emily gives a preview and we promise to come back and discuss it next week.
America, Adam's favourite hobby horse. Fear not! Because Adam's voice is objectively very annoying, we are joined by Dr. Derek Bolton, a senior lecturer at the University of Bath in International Relations (Impressive huh). We talk through the Presidential Race, the top candidates, how old is too old, and how badly Tom wants a book deal. There's also more penguin discussion than you might expect.
Finally it's game time, from the creative force behind.... well, Adam. Ang created a top tier game where Emily pits host against host to figure out what that wacky American Politican actually said.
A&E Politics is Produced by Adam Wright. Hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray, with today's guests including Tom Lowe and Dr Derek Bolton. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath Production.

Despite all odds, another A&E Politics Pod!
Bailey is in his cage this episode, but Adam and Emily are joined by the Super Sumayyah and Lovely Lucy on this, an International Womens Day
Boris Johnson is back in the news (Yay)! We discuss party-gate, his reaction to the Windsor Framework, as well as who Kier is hiring. Breaking news is becoming a tradition on the pod, so we turn to the Government's genuinely abhorrant position on asylum.
It's international womens day! So we discuss a bunch of issues from the gender pay gap, to intersectionality and why we still need international womens day.
The games are back! Sumayyah has another smashing game, so we can find out whos the biggest feminist.
A&E Politics is Produced by Adam Wright. Hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray, today's guests are Sumayyah Ali and Lucy Acheson. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath Production

Friday has come around again, and it can only mean one thing... NEW A&E Politics!!! We are joined again this week by the wonderful Sumayyah and best friend of the pod, Bailey (would it be a good episode of A&E Politics without Bailey...? The answer is no, so that's why we got him back).
This week we discuss the SNP leadership election, with some updates from last week and how the campaigns are going. We also discuss the new Windsor Framework agreement, which apparently isn’t what they call the playground equipment at a posh schools? Breaking news is our friend, and we discuss another Matt Hancock controversy.
Our main section today is a dive into the new Voter ID Laws being enforced across the UK. We discuss what the legislation is, who passed it, what is means, and what problem it’s trying to solve. Turns out, its very cynical and bad (OPINION SHOW).

Sad news of the century: despite teasing it all show, we do not have a game this week. Sumayyah made a superb game but unfortunately, after recording it twice, today was not the day for it... it will be back though so watch this space. We profusely apologise.
A&E Politics is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray. Today's guests are Bailey and Sumayyah Ali, A&E Politics is produced by Adam Wright. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath Production
*Bailey's audio is a bit weird throughout the show, appologies in advance. We'll do better next week! *
Term's getting tough, but that doesn't stop the pod.
Today Adam and Emily are joined by Bailey, the bestest friend of the pod. We walk through the Starmer vs Corbyn debate within the Labour party, then we tackle the small issue of the Northern Ireland protocol and Brexit. (We're definitely qualified for this...) Also, Biden is in Kyiv for the one year anniversary of the war in Ukraine.
We then turn our attention to Scotland, and the aftermath of Nicola Sturgeon's resignation. We reflect on her, her ideology, her politics and how she's shaped the Scottish independence conversation. Sturgeons suprise resignation leaves a challenge for her successor, we discuss some of the upcoming challenges as well as some of the announced leadership candidates.
The Telegraph has been emailing Emily far too much, so we delve back into their 'journalism' to look at some of the takes passing as opinion articles this week.
A&E Politics is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray. Today's guest is Bailey. The Senior Advisor (SA) is Sumayyah Ali. The show is produced by Adam Wright, in association with University Radio Bath.
Another Friday, another Pod! We're in our consistency era.
This week, Adam and Emily are joined by Lucy and Sumayyah to talk about the cabinet reshuffle, as well as the the horrific earthquake in Syria & Turkey. We then ominiously hover over the states to discuss why there are so many damn UFO sightings at the moment. Abduction era?
Freedom of Speech! What is it good for? Government legislation to restrict University Campuses and Student's Unions from expressing any... Lucy walks us through the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Bill and why it matters, as well as why nectar cards are a scam? We're really in our in depth analysis era (Other supermarkets are available).
Finally, Sumayyah's new era begins. Her first job, to create a game. Spoiler alert, she fucking smashes it. Who knew politicians said and did such terrible things!? Well, Sumayyah did, obviously.
A&E Politics is Produced by Adam Wright. Today's episode is hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray, with special guests Sumayyah Ali and Lucy Acheson. The SA is Sumayyah Ali, A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath production.
Tough semester two start? We've got you covered!
Adam and Emily are again joined by the incredible Bailey as the failed former PM writes a Telegraph article attempting to vindicate herself. We discuss her attitude to reality and go on a tangent into the Telegraph comment section?
Then we float across to the states, where the outrage over a rouge Chinease Spy balloon has really taken off.
Finally we step back into our A Level shoes and attempt to answer some A Level Politics exam questions. I just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone we did not sit our exams because of the pandemic, and I think it shows.
Are you from another uni? Do you like politics podcasts? Reach out, we would love to collaborate with you. Drop us a line at aaw61@bath.ac.uk, or reach out to our social medias @AEpolitics.
A&E Politics is produced by Adam Wright. Hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray, with special guest Bailey. Sumayyah Ali is the SA. A&E Politics is a University Radio Bath Production.
We're back, and we swear now!
Today Adam, Emily and Bailey back-track through what happened during the Winter break, including the latest Westminster scandal surrounding Nadeem Zahawi's taxes, and some devolution drama with Scotland over trans rights.
Then we hop across the pond to look at the U.S Midterm election results again (sorry) as well as the current 2024 Presidental race.
Other places exist too! So we pop down under to talk about New Zealand's now former Prime Minister, then we're off to Brazil to look at an attempted insurrection.
Finally in the fun bit: Bailey and Emily try to guess the news topic, we fight about sexy M&Ms, Xbox going woke, as well as the famously honest Boris Johnson.
Hosted by Adam Wright and Emily Gray. A&E Politics is produced by Adam Wright, in association with University Radio Bath.
It's our final show of the year! Adam, Emily, Bailey and Lucy chat their way through the year in Politics. From Partygate to Ukraine, and Truss to Abortion rights.
We also give Christmas presents to Rishi Sunak, Joe Biden, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, because they really need them...
Another week, another A&E ambulance ride. This week Sumayyah joins to talk about the Chester by-election, the Labour parties and house of lords reform. We then talk to Bath University Disability Action Group's Lily about their campaign and Disability Awareness Month. Finally we debate what should be added to the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
2nd of December Show
Opinionated discussion on the UK's new proposed Bill of Rights and the ECHR, as well as abortion rights in the UK and US. Then we turn to the States to discuss the former President's dinner party and the Georgia Runoff election.
Finally we lighten the show with some Ian Blackford themed games.
