Being a better Citizen. The Vital Expedition focuses to do what John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in the 1790’s, suggested that we all do as citizens and that was to study our constitution and laws continually. It is our desire to do just that; present information to anyone interested. Discourse is a lost commodity today. There is so much to learn from our founders and from those they studied that we would do well to know a fraction of what they knew.Among studying our Constitution and our laws, we need to do our part in learning what we can do at the lowest level in society. Even if we don't think we play a big part in society, we play a big part in being a parent, teacher, coach, and just overall as a person. The little things matter, what are those little things that add up in society where we are contributing to our citizenship? What are some things you never thought of that played a big part? These are things we need to consider and put careful thought into as we live.
Whether we support law enforcement or not. We find ourselves being frustrated with them regardless of our support. Growing knowledge about what law enforcement does, the methods, and the process of why and how they do things is important. How can we as citizens help society by just knowing more about those that put themselves in harms way everyday? How can YOU do a better job?
Whether you want to open a library or start a gun range to teach gun safety for citizens, you can start the change locally and make a difference. But motivation to finish what you started is hard to keep. Bad people are just as willing to stop you or bring you down when you are trying to do the right thing.
Problems and issues with government and politics start at the small town grassroots level. People, citizens, are a big part of the problem. Most people do not know how the process of running a community operates. Or how their decisions, or lack of decisions ruins the freedoms we have.
When it comes to demanding more laws and more government in their communities. If citizens are not paying attention, don't vote, don't attend meetings, or don't know how easy it would be to make things better, how can we possibly blame it on anyone but ourselves?

When the Judicial Branch of the United States interprets the law, how can two judges look at the same law and come to two different conclusions? Judges are human like everyone else. They have their agenda just like anyone else. Laws are not interpreted the same because of this human aspect. Less laws seem to be a better fix than having more law.
What does it actually mean to educate? What is the most important thing to teach our kids? What should our children learn first and who should they learn those things from? Teachers? Other children? Friends? Raise awesome citizens by teaching them morals and manners and in turn creating better citizens for society.
Did you ever consider youth sports being a tool to raise good citizens? From a young age, kids who play youth sports learn to compete in a healthy way. They learn to work and engage in situations where they might be uncomfortable. Adults who coach youth sports are teaching young citizens to how to win and lose not just in sports but in life. With proper and age appropriate competitiveness, kids can be brought up to challenge themselves in ways they never thought they could.
Is creating and publishing content on media platforms a new thing? Content creation has been around a very long time and played a big role in the creation of the United States. The Founding Fathers considered content so important, they did not just list it as a right, but they listed in the First Amendment of The Bill of Rights; Freedom of speech, and the press. Your free speech is dependent on media, and social platforms to express your thoughts, create and promote thinking. Be a good citizen by posting your content that should be used to create better citizens.
Does being in the military mean you avoid your civic duty? Should people in the military be involved in political matters and voice opinions at home? Taking the oath as a service member means upholding The US Constitution first but what does that actually mean on how you should act as a citizen?
How can we expect to raise good, upstanding citizens if we don't teach them first how to stick up for themselves and in turn, sticking up for what is right? How are citizens suppose to combat wrong doing when they were never taught how to? Do your part by raising good upstanding young citizens by teaching them how to "fight" for what is right.

What is the original definition of government? Why is it important to know? Living up to the original definition of government will help us not only become better citizens in our community, but it will help us become better fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, and better people all around.

You become a better citizen by taking the time to study the US Constitution, becoming involved in your local community whether by attending city council meetings or school board meetings, coaching youth sports, being a better parent, voting...there are countless opportunities to better yourself in your citizenship. Too many people have neglected their duty as a citizen, to be a better citizen.
