We cannot serve like Jesus unless we know our identity as children of God. On this episode, Calvin shares that knowing who we are in God allows us to serve from a place of rest. Most of us will never be born into a royal family. But what if, in Christ, we are now royalty, co-heirs with Christ, sons and daughters of the King? WHO AM I to even be called a 'royal priesthood'? The title of 'priesthood' can be intimidating, and sometimes we may not feel worthy of this 'title'. He inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3)
On this episode, we talk about how worship, specifically the act of singing corporately, invites God's presence and wherever the King is, His kingdom is established, and everything about heaven permeates the place. Healing, deliverance, encouragement -- these are just natural outcomes of inviting God to dwell with us. More than putting words to melody, Alarice shares with us the importance of singing as believers!

The temple was a place where the Israelites could worship through sacrifice, where the presence of God dwelled with His people as fire. Ezekiel writes about God's presence leaving the temple (Ezekiel 10), and the Babylonians destroyed the temple. Exiled, the Israelites built synagogues to retain culture and the reading of the Torah.
But the fire of God returned (Acts 2). Teaching about the power of worship to host the presence of God, Calvin Hong teaches the importance of being temples of the living God, marked by His presence, rather than just focusing on information or knowledge.

The Lord's desire has always been to have a covenant relationship with His people. But other things often get in the way of this. We see this in the storyline of Israel. Drawing lessons from the story where the people of God come to Mount Sinai (Exodus 19), Calvin Hong shares about how impatience and a wrong fear became stumbling blocks to their call to be 'a kingdom of priests and a holy nation', all of them with a call to worship and minister to the Lord.

Worship is an act of yielding and sacrifice, but why are we called to worship?
